(Like super minor spoiler technically)
I don’t really know what I just watched…
Season 1 of Made in Abyss is amazing, I love the pacing, the stakes and just overall how the season presented itself. Coming into this film my expectations are very high and lets just say they were not met.
Fighting against a white whistle you expect there to be a little bit more caution but instead so many unrealistic moments occur. Firstly SLEEPING in the enemies base and not expecting anything to happen is actually crazy, Prushka’s character was a nice addition but I think they really sped up her dynamic with
...
Riko in order to have the story make sense and so I didn’t feel all that connected to her character which is my main issue with the film (in other words bad character development). Bondrewd was such a menacing villain and I’ll give the film praise for that.
The film’s sexual jokes stop being funny and the increase in gore between season 1 and this film is so much that I begin to grow numb to most of the messed up scenes, overall making these scenes far less impactful. Legit all the characters in this film seem to become braindead and forget to put on their thinking caps with so many unrealistic decisions being made (leaving Prushka behind *forehead smack*) in order to fit all the content in the film. This is why I am not a fan of anime series that try to adapt an arc into a film because there is always too much content to cram in.
Disappointed. The pacing ruined this film but the plot is good enough to keep the film alive.

I don’t really read much manhwa, so my expectations are pretty much 0. My only prior knowledge of the series was a tiktok slideshow I read on one of the chapters and I have to say this series has been a pleasant surprise so far.
By far the strongest aspect of this series is the pacing, it's smooth, taking its time to get us familiar with the characters, building up on small moments. The characters are fun & lovable, the art is super clean however the series definitely lacks depth. Now of course with their only being 23 chapters as of now I can’t really
...
comment on that too much, but I hope the series explores the characters more and starts to thicken the plot because right now the series is very one dimensional.
If you want to read a chill series that gives you that warm buzz with a cute/wholesome relationship then this manhwa is for you. Overall I’m loving this series right now and I’m excited to see where it goes from here. (Also funnily enough I read some of the chapters when waiting for the train after I finish my lectures at uni lmao.)
PS: I know I'm giving an early review but I really want to express how I'm feeling about this series now so that in the future I can come back and see what I thought of this series when it started compared to when it ends.

It's been months, and I’m still not over this anime, the emotional damage is too much 😭😭😭
First thing I loved was being able to experience the perspective of the third years. I always disliked Haruka’s character as I thought she just lacked so much confidence, was always panicking. But seeing what it’s like to be the president from Kumiko’s perspective, it really made me appreciate Haruka’s characters a lot more.
Kumiko takes front and centre as we really get to explore the full depths of her character, from the stress of having to be the president and trying to keep the band together, the stress
...
of maintaining her role as a Euphonist, the stress of her personal relationships and of course the battle with herself and her morals. Kumiko is time and time again forced to choose between what others want of her and sticking to her own morals and identity.
But the character that I really appreciated the most was Mayu, she is a difficult character to handle as she directly opposes our MC and thus she is easy to hate on or just be annoying, but they handled her character very well. We are able to see Mayu as an obstacle to Kumiko but not the enemy, which is something that requires very skillful writing which I really appreciated.
All of this is leading up to what is the greatest ep in anime, scratch that the greatest ep in all of media. I have never been in so much emotional ecstasy, I was crying, excited, in shock from what I witnessed. The balls to pull out a move like this left me speechless. And then the moment with Reina and the parallels calling back the moment from season 1 just hit so hard. Then seeing the pain that Kuimko was experiencing really showed the maturity of the show as it gives a sense of realism, that despite Kuimko winning the battle with herself and finally reaching her goal it was not done without sacrifice, she is sad in this moment and at her lowest really hitting us that this journey was not just rainbows & sunshine. The ending was the cherry on top, it just put a huge smile on my face. It was absolute perfection.
I have never been so passionate in a review before, so when I tell you this, I really mean it from the bottom of my heart. YOU WILL NOT REGRET WATCHING HIBIKE EUPHONIUM!

SIMPLE AND WELL EXECUTED
Horimiya is a breath of fresh air.
The romance genre typically leans towards either being a comedy or a harem, however Horimiya adheres too a more western style romance setting where our two lovers are already close to each other from ep 1.
What makes Horimiya truly special is the smooth pacing, instead of showing us intense moments in order to build up characters, Horimiya instead prides itself on smaller key moments that builds the characters over time. The anime also gives a lot more importance and screen time of Hori and Miyamura together which strengthens their relationship making the bond between
...
them seem genuine and not rushed which is impressive for a 13ep anime.
Furthermore the simplicity of Horimiya is one that takes a while to appreciate because unlike other romance series that tackle ideologies and daunting obstacles in a persons life, Horimiya instead simply focuses on the relationship between the couple instead. In terms of portraying teenage love I would have to say that Horimiya does it better then anyone other series.

HOW TO RUIN WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREAT ANIMES 😭😭
I FEINNNNN for mystery anime. So coming into Erased with 0 expectations I was taken aback when this show turned into a mystery, the concept was good, the pacing around how the mystery unfolds is pure masterclass, tension is building and now I'm hella invested on what is going on everything goes smoothly ... AT LEAST UP TO EP 10.
Ight lets talk about the positives first
We get a good opening ep like im really ******* hooked rn, they got me on the edge of my seat. The momentum continues gradually
...
building, always a sense of tension in the air. The character development is on point very well executed, the story does well in order to keep up this momentum but then we hit the climax ....
Look probably the worst ending anyone could think of, it's cringe, unrealistic and rushed. It throws away a lot of the carefully built up moments the anime offers. Now ppl often say "Oh just cus the ending is bad doesn't mean the entire thing is bad 🤓👆"
WRONG, when it comes to a mystery series you can make the most unrealistic crazy plot but if you cannot tie it all together then it lowkey sours the whole experience and that is the issue behind Erased.
Not too mention that a bunch of other character plots and their journeys abruptly end which wastes a lot of the other characters and the potential they had.
Now I'm still gonna recommend this series because the first 8-10 ep's are straight up fireeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. But be prepared for the ending that this series has in stall for you.

HOW TO MAKE AN ACTION SHOUNEN BORING
Ight so I'm pretty hyped to watch Dragon Ball, but everybody keep tellin me. "Yo just skip to DBZ".
But I ain't about that lifestyle, I watch from the beginning no skipping for me I ain't no lightning mcqueen no tires just gas.
And ngl I was about to skip over this anime because 37 ep's in and I cannot take this **** anymore.
Let's adress the issues
First off the pacing is slow, and I mean like snail pace. Now slow pacing is not bad as long as it builds the world, characters and more importantly the 'STORY',
...
however Dragon Ball doesn't have a story or at least the only story it had of finding the dragon balls happens in like the first 10 ep's. On top of this fights are often rare and are un rewarding thus making it feel like ages just to get through a singe ep.
The next issue is the characters, aside from Goku I do not give two ***** about any of the other characters, bulma and then pervert sensei are the most boring, uninteresting characters of all time. And look I get it they wanna be basic but you cannot afford this when the action is limited, the story is minimal and the pacing sucks balls.
It's not like I completely hate this show completly, the tournament arc was pretty fire but the red ribbon army arc puts you too sleep faster then if Mike Tyson knocked your *** out . And with another 120 eps to go I just cannot waste my time on an anime that keeps underdelivering.
SAVE YOUR TIME AND EITHER SKIP THIS **** OR JUST DO NOT WATCH DRAGON BALL AT ALL

FEW HIGH'S TOO MANY LOWSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
It's a short story so not too much expectations are set on a there being a good story but I mean common the mangaka could have given the story a little more love especially when the story takes centre stage. Saying allat we are meant to be hooked in by the *** story instead the expansive heavily detailed panels, I mean some of these panels are just pure masterpieces ... Butttttttt the problem is that there is simply not enough of them because the mangaka keeps trying to focus on this **** story that no one really cares about which
drags
...
down the whole project.
Now I feel like i'm being too negative because credit where credit is due the horror atmosphere is on full display, I genuinely felt anxious for the MC and tension was established throughout the story.
So yes there are amazing panels and a good horror setting but the story is straight cheeks and the managka keeps focusing on the weakness of the manga instead of pushing us to see the strengths and for a short story you are simply setting it up to be a disaster. Overall Imma say I got mixed feelings because this manga bares some of my fav panels for sure but the flaws are evident.

GOOD IDEAAAAAAAAA HORRIBLE EXECUTION
My high hopes coming into this show was crushed as I believed that the idea of 'Rent A GF' would be the perfect topic for a great romcom however this turned out to be a waste of a good idea.
Of course this show has numerous flaws but the most obvious flaw is the characters who regardless of their writing are simply wayy too annoying making it unbearable to get through the show.
The MC speaks for himself as you get to see the dude jerk off which is just unpleasant already but on top of this the decisions the MC makes in
...
the show give me 2nd hand embarrassment making it so difficult to get through the show as you are constantly forced to cringe at everything the MC does. But it's fine as long as the female cast is good right?......
In a Harem the female characters are the most important part of the show. However 'Rent A GF' ruins this as well.
The yellow haired chick who's name I forgot pisses you off so much which is technically good because she is the 'villain' of the show however I just can't stand there character. Even worse than her and the MC for that matter is the blue haired chick, she is the most annoying character by a long shot and I hope she dies from her heart problems. The quiet girl is ok but pretty much way too boring and that leaves Chizuru who is the only good character in the entire show and is also a BADDIE.
If it wasn't for the idea of this show being good & Chizuru then 'Rent A GF' would easily be a 1/10. DO NOT WATCH THIS GARBAGE. Also scares me that season 2 is considered .... worse

THIS IS WHY MHA SUCKS🙏🙏
After four seasons in which pretty much nothing has happened season 5 of MHA slows things down even further, I know the hype surrounding the events that are too come in season 6 & 7 however I simply could not bare with the horrible pacing of season 5 forcing me to drop the series. These last four seasons were all built around setting up the characters and aligning the pieces required for the major fights and events that are to take place at the climax of the show and I just think that slowing things down at this point is simply
...
unnecessary and almost throws a big middle finger to MHA fans who have been waiting for some real action to finally occur.
Mind you that I was watching this weekly at the time and thus it made the process even more unbearable as I could not simply binge through the season instead I had to painfully wait every week for meaningless episodes. This made me drop the season and therefore drop MHA entirely.
Honestly save your time and watch all the other infinitely better anime there are to offer.
