What the fuck, Isayama? I think it's important to say AOT got me into anime in the first place, I religiously waited for each season, enjoyed the hell out of it and was so eager to see it finally end. I expected a masterful or at least somewhat decent ending, but what the fuck was this?

recommend watching AOT despite... whatever this ending was. Basically, don't get your hopes up too much for a satisfying conclusion.
Now, about the ending... if you don't like plot holes upon plot holes piling up in the last couple episodes of an otherwise tightly written story, then do not watch this show. If you don't like the central theme of a story to take a 360 spin, don't watch this show. If you don't like having a character explain the reasoning behind the incredibly evil actions he took as "I'm just a dumb idiot.", don't watch this show.
If you want a similar story with an actually good ending, please just watch Code Geass.
