Skeleton Knight In Another World is an unapologetically generic isekai but I can't help but keep watching. The story is very simple and can be very slow-paced and boring at the beginning, though it does pick up near the end. It feels as if they are just repeating the same plot point of 'saving the captured elves' throughout the entire show which can be very grating. Also, the use of sexual assault very frequently got pretty uncomfortable. I know every single isekai needs to have a sexual assault scene at some point (still not quite sure why this has become a cliche of the genre) ... but this just had it for nearly every single conflict. I guess the author realised that he could make the villain hateable while also cramming in fanservice to the show in one go and decided to kill two birds with one stone. Maybe not the most sensitive portrayal of this subject matter but it doesn't take away from the show too much and is relatively easy to look past.

Arc is not an amazing protagonist by any metric but is oddly likeable. He is absolutely a self-insert power fantasy but has enough of a fun personality to still be entertaining to watch. Ariane, surprisingly, wasn't just a walking cliche and actually had a few different aspects to her character which was better than what I was expecting. There weren't many other important characters (Chiyome was very bland and forgettable), though it is worth mentioning that Ponta, the spirit creature that travels with Arc, is adorable and easily the best character of 2022.

The animation is just good enough that it isn't unwatchable but nothing really special. The anime should be commended for not using much CGI though. The music was very solid and there were a variety of different, well-composed tracks that fit each scene perfectly, from fantasy songs to playful ones to heroic ones for when Arc saves the day. The ending song was a lively and fun J-pop track and the opening song was performed by Pellek, a YouTuber who has been covering anime songs for a while, so seeing him getting a chance to preform his own anime opening put a smile on my face. Plus, the song is an absolute banger and probably the best opening of the Spring 2022 season, not even considering how the sound effects were used in the actual episodes. The opening song has more style than the entire show.

In summary, it's another typical isekai, though a bit better than the super generic power fantasies. It can be dull at times but ended up being surprisingly enjoyable (at least to me, an isekai trashman). If you hate isekai, this'll give you another 1/10 to add to the list, but if you are like me and enjoy a lot of isekai, even the really generic ones, you'll probably have a decently fun time with this.

Stop posting about Among Us! I'm tired of seeing it! My friends on TikTok send me memes, on Discord it's fucking memes! I was in a server, right? And all of the channels are just Among Us stuff. I showed my Champion underwear to my girlfriend and the logo, I flipped it and I said, "Hey, babe, when the underwear is sus!" Haha, ding ding ding ding ding ding ding, ding-ding-ding! I fucking looked at a trashcan and I said, "That's a bit sussy!" I looked at my penis, I think of an astronaut's helmet and I go, "Penis? More like pen-sus!" Aaaaaaargh!

A prequel story to a great anime and a great manga (especially the recent few arcs). Watching this movie in the cinema was an absolute treat. The soundtrack hit hard. The fights hit hard. Everything hit hard.

The story was a typical but well-done one, albeit a little fast paced. The big fight scenes blew my mind with the quality of the animation and soundtrack. Badass is the only word I can use to describe the final act of the movie. As someone who passed on reading the jjk 0 manga, I was going in completely blind and this movie gave a lot of context for ... events later on in the manga for the main series.

Okkotsu has moved up in the ranking of my favourite jjk characters for sure. Granted, a lot of parts in the movie were just pure fanservice, like 'hey, look at this fan-loved character from the anime. Now let's have a 5 minute fight scene with them'. But, at the end of the day, I am a fan and I like to be serviced so absolutely no complaints from me about the scenes featuring Nanami and the Kyoto students.

Overall, this movie is awesome and watching it in the cinema only makes it better
