If you're looking for another action packed historical seinen with war and bloodshed revolving around royalty for the sake of land, power or ect, then look no further. Both of these series have likeable and distinguishable characters that stand out out from the rest for us to get attached to. Each have their own type of "OP" or stronger characters that clearly stand out from the rest of foot soldiers and make each of the battles so enjoyable to watch, vikings in the case of Vinland saga or war generals for Kingdom. So if you want to see some strong muscle boys duking it out on the battlefield, Kingdom is a great place to go from here. Each of these series approach their wars and battles not a straight forward manner but with carefully planned strategic moves that keep the viewer on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. Kingdom is on grander scale of war when you compare the number of people in each of the armies to the ones in Vinland Saga, but it does a great job of treating war a lot like a game of chess and not using just power to win the battles. In each anime the main characters of both have a clear reason for wanting to gain power and strength. The relationships each of the main characters develop with characters along the way of achieving that are where both of these two shine. You get to see each character grow and develop in their own way, so if you want something with more meaning to events in the story, Kingdom also has progression for it's characters. The first season of Kingdom starts out with CG for it's large scale battle scenes so it might catch you off guard if you're jumping right into it but in season 2 they switch to a more classic anime style at least of the movements of main characters. (and season 3 was announced not too long ago). Kingdom's manga has an amazing art detail and over 600 chapters going strong weekly, so if you finish season 2 and want to sign up for more of the story you have that option. Conclusion: The types of tones both of these give off is very similar and show us that war is nothing a minor thing to trifle with. Both were extremely enjoyable for me and I hope some are able to discover a show they didn't know about until this. Thanks for reading.
