As someone who's a multitude of Chinese webnovels over the years, watching this movie has been an absolute treat. Seeing daoists and demons come alive on screen was really fun and it was so cool watching all the world building this movie has to offer. While it was a little slow at the start, it makes sure to pay off each and every set up that it makes, gradually cumulating into a climax that ties everything together. The visuals are great, and the action is amazing. The romance itself is not that great, but I still found it to be enjoyable. I think the movie

deserves an 8 for me. If I had to say anything, I would say that I wish the movie would have something that would leave a longer impression. Although the movie by itself is quite fun and rewarding to watch and experience on its own, so all in all I'm pretty happy to have seen White Snake.

This anime is all about misunderstandings; perhaps a little too much that it spills out into the real world and make the majority of the viewers misunderstand what the show is all about.
Right from the very title and first episode, Gamers! set out to bait people into thinking that it would all be about clubroom comedy with gamers. It turns out, the only right thing from that bait is the last word - gamers. While it does not actually involve an actual club, the characters featured in the show are still gamers to their core with differing values. So what is the show actually about?
Gamers!
...
is perhaps the best conventional modern romcom anime. When I say conventional, I mean that it does not break away from the cliches and tropes of the genre. People may misunderstand and think this show is a parody, when in fact it is the exact opposite. This show embraces these generic elements and instead gives them a place where they could shine best. Unlike other shows, cliches - particularly misunderstandings - are not used as a convenience for the plot to be able to move. Instead, it IS the plot itself. As someone who is a massive fan of romcom, it reassures me to know that the writer knows and is aware of these developments that are often found in romcom, and that he seeks to make them as reasonable, logical, and most importantly fun as they could possibly be. Unlike other prominent romcom shows, it does not break away from its mold, instead it seeks to be the very best version of it.
This requires a certain amount of awareness that the usual romcom fan would have for it to be enjoyed to its fullest. I have to admit, as someone who enjoys romcom, that I am in fact stupid - just self aware unlike most others. I recognize that this genre is filled with trashy shows but I still do want them to be good despite that. And Gamers! is exactly that one show that knows what it's doing. It takes elements that this genre has degraded to the ground and presented them in full capacity.
Unfortunately for this show, the beauty in its writing is not appreciated well enough by the majority. It is quite ironic that a show about misunderstandings is also misunderstood by its viewers. This show is a love letter to romcom, and to romcom fans. Anyone who tries to look for anything more than that is missing the point and is bound to be disappointed. Gamers! portray all the good parts a romcom could ever have, and it's a shame that it will not get the recognition it deserves because they decided it would be funny to also let the viewers misunderstand.
With all that said, as close as this show is to being perfect, there are still some flaws I have to address. The biggest one of which is in the character that is Konoha. She was introduced in the best manner possible in the show. And then, she got reduced to a plot device. They were so many things they could've done with her, and it almost hurts that they let that all go to waste. From what I know, this is a problem on the anime's side as part of episode 11 seems to have been anime only. I am currently reading the source at a slow pace though, and from what I can tell, the anime has been handled perfectly; or at the very least, the early parts of it. The later arcs seems to have suffered a little bit perhaps due to time constraints or for whatever reason that might've been the case. With that said, it was still extremely good, it was just not as perfect as it could've been.
The ending was great. It's sad that it flew over most people's head. It is one of the most unique episodes in romcom. I feel a bit wronged that people did not understand the show for what it was, but there's not much I can do unfortunately. I've already written for too long, this is more or less my thoughts on this show. A shame that I couldn't give it a 10, but that only means I can still hope a better romcom will show up eventually in the future.

If you're into physically violent crazy waifus, then you're in for a treat because this anime has a wide variety of them to offer, ranging from tsunderes to himederes to yanderes to kuuderes. Well, even if you're not into that sort of thing, as long as you're not ticked off by a little bit of unreasonable violence and you have some free time to watch a fun show, I still do recommend watching this anime. While Armed Girl's Machiavellianism is admittedly not anything new or creative, I will say that it has definitely been a fun ride watching this show. The MC is surprisingly reasonable

and likeable, traits which I have come to appreciate more and more the more I watch harem romcoms. The girls, while seemingly bland and generic at first glance, quickly grew on me and they always delivered whenever it was their time to shine. The fight scenes as well are surprisingly engaging and have quite the depth to them, with the characters having their own school of martial arts and styles that are intricately explained and clashed against one another. If nothing else, I really do have to applaud the show for having executed so well what it sought out to do. I do have to say though that it's a bit of a shame that the show never really became something special or if it even tried to, which is fine if what you're looking for is really just to have fun and a good time. Armed Girl's Machiavellianism has been a pleasant surprise and I'm just really glad I decided to watch it on a whim. I had no expectations coming into the show and I feel happy that I ended up enjoying my time here.

Kuma Miko is a moe show that's not very shy about being one, and it does things a little differently than usual which is where most people seem to be most disappointed about. When you watch a moe show, you'd expect everything to be completely positive and upbeat and on the outside, Kuma Miko is exactly that kind of show. However if you take a closer look, you'll find that the characters are deeply flawed in oftentimes uncanny realistic ways, hidden behind its cuter appearance. If there were any character that perfectly embodied my experience watching this show, it wouldn't be the MC, it wouldn't
...
be the bear, it would actually be Yoshio, the MC's cousin as well as the miko's caretaker.
Yoshio starts off being just someone who exists in the background, to someone who's unexpectedly reliable, to someone who is ultimately a flawed person. If you were to describe him as a person, he is someone who is dependable, responsible, passionate, encouraging, enthusiastic and someone who would never do something he knows is wrong to do. However, what actually happens when these traits are put together into this one character that is Yoshio, he turns out to be someone overbearing, manipulative, and inconsiderate of others. I find him very interesting as a character in that he is someone that is obviously someone good and has the best of intentions, but for some reason comes off as a person probably most hated in the show. I honestly think this sort of character is well-written. It is only a shame that this show was too overly a moe show first and foremost, and people would find it unpleasant to have this sort of character in their fuwa fuwa kyun kyun show. Hints of this sort of characterization is actually present to some degree on all the characters and it's surprising to have a moe show have these sort of deeply flawed characters. Yes some of them can be considered scumbags, but so what? I honestly think that's what makes this show a little more special than the others.
Something that I do have to talk about would be the ending and I honestly thought it was fine. People expect everything to always be positive in this short of show but things don't really go that way in real life. It's that hint of realness, in its characters, in its plot, in its eventual conclusion, that I appreciate the most of this show. Kuma Miko, its MC, all the other characters, they're all flawed in some way and I'm totally fine with it. Rather than trying to change, isn't it fine to just be a better version of yourself as well? That's my philosophy and the show's ending to me was something I find to be comforting.
With all that said, I liked this show quite a bit. If I had to change anything in it, I do wish they committed more on being a little psychopathic, I think people would've accepted the ending more if it was a little more on the face that these characters were unhinged. If anyone reading hasn't watched the show yet and is interested to, do try to appreciate how "that's kinda fucked up" of a show it can be.

For the most part, Jaku-Chara was the perfect example of what I wanted from a "junk-food" anime. It also has the added bonus of making me more self-aware of when I actively push away other people and opportunities just because I want to be left alone, which in its own right is enough to make this anime more than special for me. It had really been an enjoyable show that I looked forward to every week, and it made me care about the characters in a way I wasn't really expecting from this sort of show. That being said, I am quite disappointed at how
...
they ended the show and it has really ruined all the good things I thought about it. On the last episode, barring from the restaurant scene with Kikuchi, all the other conversations were unnatural and the themes were blatant. It was almost like they were afraid the viewers were too stupid to get the underlying message so they shoved it down their throats. I would've given this show an 8 or 9 but that ending was just horribly executed. It felt like the characters became a representation of their themes and became nothing more than vessels of what the writer was trying to preach. It took away the realness that these characters had in their subtle interactions and just really left a bad taste in my mouth that frankly ruined the whole show for me. I will still give the show a 7 nonetheless, I can't just forget about the good parts that this show had even if they were hardly present in the last episode.
Overall, good show, life-changing lessons, ruined by a horribly executed ending.
