Before getting into this review I want to say that I have not seen Chaos;Head. I watched 2 episodes and could not stand it. The art style is atrocious, the plot is slow, the main character is oblivious and overall it just was not interesting to watch.
On the flip side, you have Chaos;Child. Chaos;Child does everything that Chaos;Head could not. The art is good, the characters are much more interesting and detailed, and there are much better plot devices which were just not present in Chaos;Head. As someone who has not watched Chaos;Head, I still find Chaos;Child pretty easy to follow with.

Only gave it a 6 cause the fights scenes were enjoyable to watch and was overall just kind of looking forward to those mainly. The only really notable character is Ernesta Kuhne who I wish got more backstory/screentime. Other than her, the rest of the characters are pretty one dimensional. I also like the concept of the tournaments/festas but I kind of knew before hand that they were going to win no matter what, which took away from the excitement. Story is meh, extremely predictable and just not very interesting as it stands, in my opinion.
