9/10 This series sucks as a shoujo anime

I watched this show because I wanted to watch some cringey shoujo wish fulfillment trash, but I got this instead.

STORY: 3/10 - There is no story, but I'm totally okay with that. What you see is what you get. The plot starts as the mal description describes and kinda stays that way throughout the series. No romantic development is made, but it doesn't need to be. Through the series, characters and their relationships to the cast are introduced expanded on and developed, often with a theme of romance, even though no advances on romantic relationships appear to ever ... be made. Instead this show opts to use humour to be entertaining, and for what it's worth I found it hilarious. Not every joke hits its mark, but a few of them were spot on for me. By the end of the series at most 1 real development in the relationship between the main pair was made, and I don't even think it counts as a romantic development, but I don't even care.

ART: 9/10 - The art of this show clearly had a good amount of budget and effort put into it, and it shows without being too flashy or anything with sickening shoujo effects like overused sparkles, shapes or fake lens flares. Character designs are simple but fun.

SOUND: 5/10 - Does the job. ED was alright, but I skipped the OP without listening to it. BGM compliments the scenes and moods well enough.

CHARACTERS: 10/10 - Best part of the show. Each of them is not only funny in their own way but very likeable, and the MC is cute. If I had to pick a favourite though, it would have to either be Seo Yuzuki or Mikoshiba Mikoto. Both are very expressive and contributed a lot to my enjoyment. The one exception to this is Maeno. Maeno is annoying, but that's the point of his character. If you have more tolerance to that you'll maybe not be too sick of him to enjoy him by his second appearance enough to enjoy him being there.

ENJOYMENT: 10/10 - I had enough fun with what I thought would be another throwaway shoujo series that I think I'm going to read the manga to see if any actual romantic development happens and enjoy more of the characters' antics and whatnot.

So I came upon this promotional video because the name looked interesting as I searched for another anime in the DB. It's 2 minutes on YouTube so doesn't feel like much of a time waste looking for it and watching it. It's just a promotion for building a mosque, but I say the synopsis and thought "lmao islam has an anime now nice". I'm only writing a review now because I thought it would be amusing and because I feel like talking about the thing.

Story: 6
The story does the job for a promotional video. Displays the tragedy occurring in Palestine where the Muslim spirit of ... the people that lose their lives is the same that goes into the building of the mosque. It shows Muslims doing regular things like reading the Quran in the mosque and living at home for a few seconds, and shows the feelings for our fellow Muslims and people from the area and other places in the world forming a shield against Israel's air strikes in Palestine and under this shield the area flourishes. The general message appears to be linking the need for a stronger worldwide Muslim community beginning from the community in individual places including Shizuoka. It seems reasonable and does a good job for what it is, though it's not Shakespeare

Art: 5
Islam the anime isn't really focused on the animation, rather than the message it sends. The ghost/spirit/feeling of the people who are dying is represented by blue lights and what appears to be the transmission of Muslim feelings of brotherhood which form the shield or whatever are rainbow lights. Conveys the message well, nice and subtle. The rest of the animation is just simply drawn anime people in low framerate animation. Nothing that stands out much

Sound:5
Sound design is also not really a focus here. Some cheap stock "sparkle" sound effects seem to be used for the moving of the lights and so on and the background music is just there because it would be weird if it was silent. Doesn't really convey any emotion, doesn't really need to. A job well done.

Character: 3
No real characters except a child dying in someone's arms who appears twice and a guy in a crowd in Shizuoka in front of the mosque that looks up. Conveys a generalised message of unity among Muslims without being too specific that it would apply to just about everybody. Nothing really here, nothing really needed.

Enjoyment: 8
There's a novelty in watching "Islam is cool also fuck Israel: the anime". I also got the feeling they were trying to get across.

OVERALL SCORE: 8
Nice job by the Muslim Association of Japan. Wish them Allah's blessing in building their Mosque.

This is a biased review.
My friends recommended me to watch this anime a long ass time ago. I was a fool to not watch it immediately. It has been a while since I watched that I write this review.

... The story is good and well executed etc. Nice to see time travel without being too confusing. I would like a season 2 though fml but that's not something to judge season 1 by.

Art is very good. Visuals are amazing.

BGM all the way through is great. The ending themes are nice but the opening themes are straight bangers.

Here is the source of my bias. Aside from me relating very heavily to the personality and flaws of the main protagonist, Subaru, I give this anime (which would already have a 9 in characters) a 10. Why? Rem.
I have had waifus before. I was never very serious about it until Rem. I was not expecting to fall this fucking deeply in love with a fictional character. Cry as I might, Rem isn't real and wouldn't love me if she was. That won't stop me from loving her.

I give Re:Zero a waifu induced maid fetish out of 10 minus 1 because I'm trying not to be biased but its hard
