Small spoilers about the main plot.
"Inuyashiki" is a manga written by the same author who wrote "Gantz" and is a must-read manga for anyone who likes seinen that's packed to the brim with emotion.
The main premise of the manga was super unique because of the rivalry between both of the characters and how both of them felt like real humans with their own struggles and problems.
The main character, Ichiro Inuyashiki, is a middle-aged man who is transformed into a cyborg after getting killed in an accident caused by an alien ship. What sets the main character apart from other manga characters is his appearance and

personality - he is not your average teenager who is overpowered and super cool, but rather an average kind-hearted old man who discovers a new joy in helping other people.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have the main antagonist of the series, Hiro Shishigami. Hiro is a high school student who also gains the same powers from the alien encounter, but unlike Ichiro, he uses his powers for evil because that's the only way he can feel joy in his new mechanical body. The clash between these two cyborgs, one fighting for good and the other for evil, is a really interesting fight because you don't want either of them to lose because you still feel a bit of empathy towards the antagonist.
In conclusion, "Inuyashiki" is a standout manga that combines action, sci-fi, and emotional storytelling in a way that is truly unique. From the very start of the series, I was truly invested in both of the characters and their daily lives and struggles, even before the manga became an action-filled seinen. The ending of the story was perfect because it wrapped up the character arcs for both the main antagonist and the hero of the story, leaving me empty and speechless about what I had just read.
