Disclaimer: I dropped this anime about 10 years ago, and this will be my first attempt to fully rewatch it since then. The long recap on episode six was so unneeded. Kamina's death was totally unexpected. Simon's spiral into a frenzied state was painfully boring to watch. The "I’ll overcome the odds with my fury" moments were so cliché. Spiral King Lordgenome was a good antagonist, however, his demise made very little sense. Simon won by absolutely no means other than plot, and even if that isn’t the case, there wasn’t any true explaining plot for this outcome to be justifiable. Episode sixteen was a
...
full-on recap, and the following episode was a seven-year time skip. The reveal of two factions: the Spirals and the Anti-Spirals was intriguing for a solid 5 minutes. The Anti-Spirals and the Spirals had a great war a couple centuries pre-current time and won against the Spirals was entresting if nothing else. The new nation’s citizens were so infuriating, like just kill them all. If they don’t like the way you rule, then obliterate them all. Rossiu is such a horribly written character, like he is a massive hypocrite who has no resolve, and he would absolutely crumble under any direct pressure. Every one of Rossiu’s followers are huge meat riders as well. Also, Rossiu’s constant need to use the name of “God” was nothing but a pathetic facade. Adult Simon kinda looked like Sinbad from Magi. I was utterly devastated that Rossiu didn’t go through with his plan to end himself 💔. The Death Spiral machine bit was so boring. The animation is truly marvelous and must’ve been far beyond its time.
In episode twenty-six, it really bothered me when there was a minuscule inconsistency in the plot. The moment I’m referring to is when Lordgenome was seen returning with Simon and the others from the multidimensional labyrinth. This was upsetting because, just prior to this moment, Anti Spiral clearly states that he couldn’t send Lordgenome—or more like Lordgenome's head, the supercomputer—into the multidimensional labyrinth due to the fact that he didn’t fit the parameters required. This show is by far one of the cringiest shows I’ve watched in quite a while. Anti Spiral overall was a meh antagonist, however, he is the embodiment of OP. The series was doing quite well with depth perception, until the fight above the planet Earth, it went all to shit for a moment. When I say Anti Spiral lost by absolutely no means other than for plot’s sake of a joyous end, I mean it thoroughly. Simon and Kamina wouldn’t have been able to do anything without Leeron. The conclusion was so utterly buns, just like Gurren Lagann’s catchphrase. Both the Japanese and English dubs were solid. In the end, I don't really like mecha-type animes, and this anime didn't find a way to alter my opinion.
Childhood's End Movie
This movie was literally just a recap of the first half of the series with a tiny snippet of new details in the very beginning.
The Lights in the Sky are Stars Movie
This was literally just a recap of the second half of the series with all-new scenes being in the last thirty minutes or so. However, with this new plot at the end, it made Anti Spiral’s defeat more believable. The new designs were fabulous. The one-on-one fight between Anti-Spiral and Simon was outstanding. They should’ve fixed the conclusion, but no, they left it buns.

East Blue Arc | One Piece Season One
The flashback with Luffy and Shanks was solid. At this point, Zoro wasn't overrated; he proved to be a great friend for Luffy. I hated the line, “Stop this, I can’t take this.” I knew it would come up eventually, but it happened early on. Zoro’s backstory was incredible; it was unfortunate that his rival and idol died so pathetically, falling down the stairs. I didn’t expect Dan to actually be as ruthless as they made him seem. I also didn’t foresee the head chef being a Great Pirate. Mihawk’s position as the strongest swordsman made sense—he’s the
...
kind of overpowered character I love. Why didn’t the head chef do anything, when Dan was attacking? Poor Mow-Moo. Honestly, Nami’s mom kind of deserved her fate; she attacked without even trying to reason. The backstories of all the main protagonists had been solid up to that point. The Calm Belt remained shrouded in mystery, and the whole lost island concept felt uncertain. The dragons (millennial dragons) I had seen so far appeared more bird-like.
Alabasta Arc | One Piece Season Two
The Straw-hats helped with some random country’s internal affairs. Dalton’s Devil Fruit, which transformed him into a bison, was one of the oddest I had seen, as it actually transformed the person. Chopper’s Devil Fruit was unique; it seemed like most of the transforming fruits were on that island. Chopper’s backstory was the only one that felt genuinely cruel and agonizing. I liked Number 2 of Brook’s works; he was cool with Luffy and the crew. It seems that the ability to transform and fly is rare, with only five fruits exhibiting this power. I didn’t expect Sea Kings to have natural predators, like the Banana Gator, especially with such a size difference. I liked that Crocodile gave Luffy tips and pointers during their fight. The Usopp and Chopper vs. Number 4 fight was disappointing, while the Sanji and Number 2 fight was phenomenally done. Zoro certainly evolved during his battle with Number 1. Vivi’s idiocy had no limits; she knew there were Baroque members on both sides yet still proposed such a foolish plan. Her atrocious plan was impractical and unrealistic. I was about to lose my mind if I heard “Stop Fighting” from Vivi once more. Crocodile had been a solid character, and I hoped he’d make more appearances. Out of all the characters we’d met so far, I thought Smoker and Crocodile were the best. I was glad to see Zoro and Luffy get their bounties raised by a large sum.
Skypiea Arc | One Piece Season Three
The season started feeling like it was mostly filler. I loved the Mihawk scenes, especially since a friend had hyped him up, making his first appearance in episode 151 all the more intriguing. We got vaguely introduced to the Warlord system. Many of the heavy hitters—Blackbeard, Whitebeard, Shanks, Mihawk—were showing up early in this season. There are three main seas: the Blue Sea, the White Sea, and the White White Sea. There had been multiple so-called gods of Skypiea, with Gan Fall being the previous god before Enel. The island in Skypiea turned out to be the second part of an island on the ocean floor. I’ll admit, I kind of liked Enel. Out of all the ships we’ve seen so far, I thought the Ark had the best design and innovations (I still believe so). The flashback about Skypiea added a lot of plot, but I found it a bit boring. The little Shandoran girl had been nothing but annoying. The recap of the Mary’s journey in episode 203 felt completely unnecessary.
Water Seven | One Piece Season Four
The difference in animation was immediately obvious. The water city was impressive, with its many cool features. The outcome of the Luffy crew losing their 300 million was beyond predictable. The Luffy vs. Usopp feud turned out to be an atrocious subplot. This season had been a snooze-fest until the introduction of CP9, which changed everything. CP9 was fascinating, especially since they acted as the government’s secret service with their semi-complex schemes. I hated how Usopp acted like the Merry was just his—like it was clearly gifted to Luffy. Iceberg and Franky’s backstories were incredible. The flashback about Nico Robin’s reasons for “betraying the Straw Hats” was also intriguing. The CP9 members had amazing Devil Fruit powers. Kumadori, in particular, had the best design of any character that far. Why was the second half of episode 279, along with episodes 280-283, just recaps? Kumadori had officially made his way into my top 3 One Piece characters. Sanji’s and Zoro’s fights against CP9 were fabulous, even though I wasn’t a fan of their opponents' designs. Rob Lucci’s backstory was captivating—it showed how far he’d go for the World Government. The Rust-Rust fruits user was a huge villain for destroying one of Zoro’s swords in my eyes. Episode 312 was a sad farewell to the Merry. The D. family was indeed full of extraordinary strength and mystery. The lore was flowing heavily this season.
Thriller Bark Arc | One Piece Season Five
The shear utility of the Straw hat’s new ship the Sunny was shown early into this season. The fact Thriller Bark was a boat, was an unexpected W by Gecko Moria. I really didn’t mind the Laboon recap on episodes 353 and 354. Perona’s was the first female in this show to earn the title baddie. Gecko Moria's chuckling no joke gave me a headache, why Toei studios decided to make this war lords have the urge to profusely chuckle at all times, I'll never understand. Nightmare Luffy’s temporary power boost was thoroughly fun to watch, in the Oars vs Luffy fight. I believe that it was stupid that he couldn’t keep the ability as another gears type situation. The only new character that I really liked this season was the samurai, Shimotsuki Ryuma. 6.6/10
Sabaody Archipelago Arc/Summit War Arc (Impel Down/Marine Ford) | One Piece Season Six
The Sunny had many surprises, with the cannon reveal being one of the most exciting moments. The Bounty Mangrove Arc was also a highlight. I found myself more invested in Ace's execution than the mermaid auction. The scene where Luffy defeated the arrogant slave trader was amazing. I the battle between the World Government and Whitebeard’s pirates was epic as promised. Boa Hancock was a standout character, though her forehead was noticeably large. She looked even more attractive when the camera didn't focus on that feature, though Perona's design remained my favorite. Character designs this season took a bit of a hit, especially with the creatures on the second floor of Impel Down, where the Sphinx was particularly awful. Episode 431 brought back number two, which was a win! It was nice seeing that Number Two valued his friendship with Luffy so much. Their bond became one of the best duos I've seen. Magellan’s design and personality were excellent. My top three characters became 🥉 Perona, 🥈 Rob Lucci/Smoker, and 🥇 Bon (Number Two of Brook's Works). I skipped episodes 438-440, so I probably missed some key developments. I’d hoped the Jail Manager of Impel Down would defeat Blackbeard, but the plot twist was too ridiculous for me. Luffy’s constant reliance on "Gear 2" got tiresome, making it feel like he couldn't fight without it. Despite this, I thought the season was strong overall, minus the Ivankov storyline. Once Blackbeard entered Impel Down, I started to lose interest, though Magellan’s Venom Demon form revived my enthusiasm. I also started skipping Brook’s flashbacks due to the satanic themes. Episode 457 felt like a recap, with episode 458 being similar. Ace’s flashbacks were solid, but Whitebeard’s Devil Fruit was a letdown—I'd expected more. The only Zoan-type fruit user I enjoyed was the Phoenix guy, the Captain of Whitebeard's 1st Division. I was not fond of the other Logia powers, especially with so many fire-based abilities in play. RIP Little Oars Jr. The Coby vs. Luffy fight felt pointless. Ace fell for Akainu’s taunts and ignored the warnings, and his death was a sad moment. But, considering he was a Logia-type, I didn’t quite understand how he died, since he should’ve been immune to most attacks. Whitebeard's death followed soon after, which was also tragic. Blackbeard’s Devil Fruit was a game-changer. I now understand how Luffy got his scar, especially after seeing it in the Crunchyroll hub. It felt like every character was being crammed into the season at once. Episode 492 stood out for its bizarre filler crossover with another anime. Curly Dadan was a memorable character, especially when she mourned the loss of Ace 💔. My final top three characters were 🥉 Perona, 🥈 Dadan/Magellan, and 🥇 Bon (Number Two of Brook’s Works).
Fish Man Island Arc | One Piece Season Seven
Another Toriko crossover initiated the season, episode 542. The weapon Poseidon was an epic ability. Nah, I despise Hody Jones, he was just a scumbag with a grudge who needed steroids, that had no real reason nor any actual power other than he wants to be like Arlong. This season was an elongated banal shamble. There was a sudden change in Nami’s appearance on episode 574 forward, which was a rarer occurrence back then.
15th Anniversary Special Episode I like the new animation of the Marine Fort battle. However, I disliked that a large majority of it was recap. The animation quality is also much for fluid. 5.5/10
Punk Hazard Arc | One Piece Season Eight
This season quickly spiraled into the worst season. However, one unique and cool thing about this season was it’s location, Punk Hazard, an island reforged via two admiral’s clash. Idk why but Sanji in Nami’s body maked her a total baddie, update most attractive One piece characters 1st Sanji in Nami’s body, 2nd Perona, 3rd Boa Hancock non huge forehead moments. I brazenly skipped through the kidnapped children parts, because it was so fucken boring like leave them behind or kill them. I liked to see Tashigi and Zoro’s relationship developing ever so slightly. I still can't tell if it was just an effect to add depth or did Law actually cut the entire mountain? Doflomingo's Geppo has to be one of the bests even now. The most brainless thing I’d heard all month “I have a bad history with most Marines but if they’re women it’s a different story” like stfu Nami 💔.
Dressrosa Arc | One Piece Season Nine
There were more branches of the Navy's Cipher Pol than I initially expected. The new characters introduced during the colosseum battles were all distinct and captivating, especially Bartolomeo. Fujitora had taken on the role of the new admiral, but I still don't think he will ever reach the same level of strength as the previous three: Akainu,Aokiji,Kizaru. It only hit me 16 episodes into the new season that it was a new season—I had thought it was still part of the Punk Hazard arc. The fights were absolutely top tier! The backstory of Dressrosa was surprisingly good. I couldn’t believe Sabo was alive, though I had a feeling since characters rarely died in this series. I hadn’t expected Kyros, the toy soldier, to have been a legendary warrior—his backstory was one of the best so far, and his strength lived up to the hype, even against powerful opponents. My updated top three characters were 🥉 Perona, 🥈 Bartolomeo/Magellan, 🥇 Bon (aka Number Two of Brooks Works). I found it puzzling that Crunchyroll had divided the Dressrosa arc in such a strange way, with two movies in the middle. Corazon was a fantastic character. My updated "top three" were now 🥉 Perona, 🥈 Bartolomeo/Magellan, 🥇 Corazon/Bon (aka Number Two of Brooks Works). The Op Op devil fruit was probably my favorite so far. Younger Doflamingo had some serious style. Trafalgar Law’s backstory was definitely the best one so far. Luffy refusing to fight Bellamy was a bit dull, but the resolution was satisfying. Senor Pink’s reason for his fashion choices was baffling, but it was a huge win that he cared that much for his wife. The Doflamingo vs. Luffy fight was my favorite battle. A small detail I had forgotten to mention earlier was that I knew when Luffy gained all his gears—though I didn’t know exactly what they did, just when he gets them. The Doflamingo vs. Luffy fight just kept getting better. Despite losing to Luffy’s Gear Four, Doflamingo hadn’t been truly defeated yet—guess he had plot armor. I found it fascinating that Kaido’s main goal seemed to be death. Admiral Fujitora was the only admiral I actually liked; the others were a bit too eccentric. I was ecstatic that Luffy now had followers and his own fleet. The second part of Dressrosa got an 8.3/10, but when combined with both parts, I gave it a 7.65/10.
Zou Arc | One Piece Season Ten
I had just realized that Caesar's power had given him an amazing look; I had loved the pink coat style. I had found the concept of an island being on a colossal animal very neat, like Zunesha and Zou. I honestly had thought Nami and Robin might have been pedophiles, because they had been oddly encouraging and enjoying Momonosuke's 'snuggles.' The red poneglyphs had led to the last island on the Grand Line, and there were said to have only been four. The Kozuki family had originally made the poneglyphs. This season had had far too much recap.
Whole Cake Arc | One Piece Season Eleven
The “Luffy is dying from a deadly fish” charade was so extremely fucken idiotic, like Luffy survived Magellan’s poison so he should be practically immune to poison. "Charlotte Cracker’s use of his devil fruit was fascinating. He transformed the seemingly weak Bis Bis fruit into a powerful ability. I was curious about any potential caveats with it. The Pudding plot twist completely took me by surprise—it was the first twist that genuinely caught me off guard. That revelation, along with Big Mom’s true plan for Germa 66, revived the season after the Charlotte Cracker fight, which had been pretty lackluster inbetween. I also found Pudding’s true nature and impressions hilarious, almost on par with pre-time-skip Luffy. Let’s be honest, arcs with Jinbe were always more exciting, except the Fish Man arc, though he still hadn’t made my list of favorite characters. The more I saw of Pudding, the more endearing she became. I updated my list of most attractive One Piece characters: 1st, Sanji in Nami’s body; 2nd, Perona; and 3rd, Pudding with her third eye. I realized I hadn’t added Jinbe to my top characters before, so my new top three were: 🥉 Perona, 🥈 Bartolomeo/Magellan, and 🥇 Jinbe/Bon, aka Number Two of Brook's Works. Big Mom’s backstory made sense given her abandonment—she was a glutton. Carmel, on the other hand, turned out to be a child trafficker. The worst part was that Big Mom ate Carmel and all the orphans in her reckless hunger spree. It seemed cannibalism was somehow linked to obtaining a devil fruit, which was pretty vile. Big Mom’s backstory was a mess from start to finish. If I could’ve chosen any devil fruit in real life, I’d pick the Cook-Cook fruit. The mirror breaking was tragic for the assaulting party. R.I.P. Pedro. Random question: were Whitebeard and Gold D. Roger’s naturally not as durable as other emperors? After all, Big Mom and Kaido had highly defensive bodies without needing haki or techniques. My updated top characters were 🥉 Jinbe/Perona, 🥈 Bartolomeo/Magellan, and 🥇 Katakuri/Bon, aka Number Two of Brook's Works. The flashbacks of Rayleigh and Luffy training were always a treat. And that 4th Gear Snake-Man Luffy vs Katakuri fight? Easily the best fight so far.
Reverie Arc | One Piece Season
A lot of this season, about 75%, was recap, while the remaining 25% focused on world-building.
Land of Wano Arc | One Piece Season Thirteen
This season, “Wano,” was highly anticipated, so my expectations were higher than usual. The new opening stood out as great. After two episodes, I could tell the animation quality had greatly improved. Otama wasn’t as unbearable as I had first expected. However, by the third episode, we were already getting filler. Luffy has no poison defense, and he never fought Magellan. He didn’t survive his poison. Zoro lost Shusui for Enma; Shusui was by far his coolest-looking blade. I hope he gets it back since he earned it. Just as a side note, a black blade is permanently imbued with Haki, which is interesting. The War Lord system being abolished was a surprise. The Rock’s Pirates were full of powerhouse fighters, and their captain must have been incredibly strong. It’s clear that both Garp and Gold D. Roger are considered some of the most powerful figures. The Wano flashbacks had been copacetic, and Lord Oden’s bulky design had stood out. I had a strange déjà vu watching the flashback of Kin'emon “fighting” the Mountain God. Young Blackbeard looked absurd, and Kurozumi Orochi has always been a greedy buffoon. Buggy and Shanks never saw the last island on the Grand Line. Also, Orochi’s allies once had the Barrier-Barrier and Copy-Copy Devil Fruits. Young Gecko Moria looked goofy. Oden didn’t lose to Kaido because he was weaker; instead, he was manipulated into taking Kaido’s blow. “Oden wouldn’t be Oden if he weren’t boiled”—what an incredible line. R.I.P. Oden, a bold character. The twist about Kurozumi Kanjuro being a spy for Orochi was completely unexpected. The animation in this arc is among the best I’ve seen. Jinbe was being goofy. Robin said, “Give you my name? You’re not even worth a glance,” and Jinbe replied, “You just gave me a chill.” Like, that shit wasn’t tuff 💔. Kaido killing Orochi was a satisfying turn of events; I thought Kaido would always be a pushover. Kaido’s daughter, Yamato, is pretty cool. Episode 1000 was a significant milestone for me. There was a recap episode between episodes 1004 and 1005, which summarized Luffy’s journey in Wano. Yamato and Ace were good friends, and she even created Ace’s vivre card. The Kaido and Big Mom vs. Law, Luffy, and Kid fight was exceptional—almost on par with older Fate battles in animation quality. Oden’s line, “Hesitation is Defeat,” felt personal to me. Orochi surviving the first time was ridiculous. Shanks has a daughter, Uta, who was once a musician for the Red-Haired Pirates. Nico Robin’s demon form wasn’t my favorite design. I’m really getting tired of these recap episodes. Kaido, Oars, Oars Jr., and Yamato belong to the Oni race, and characters like Caesar and Gecko Moria might as well. Some random CGI in the arc looked bad, but the overall animation quality made it easy to overlook. The additional lore surrounding Enma, Wado Ichimonji, and their forger was interesting. Sanji destroying his Vinsmoke suit was frustrating. 500 years ago, someone with the same Devil Fruit as Luffy caused major fear for the World Government, which I find fascinating. How exactly can Law use the Calm Calm Fruit’s ability? The moment when Zunesha declared Luffy as Joyboy’s incarnation gave me chills. Turns out, the Gum-Gum Fruit is actually a Zoan, not a Paramecia—specifically a mythical Zoan, the Sun God type. The details of Kaido’s youth were vague, but intriguing. Oden’s father isn’t dead, but rather the man with the tengu mask. Admiral Aramaki is a hypocrite, just like Akainu. Jack being a Fish-Man was unexpected. The Cross-Guild’s plan to put bounties on Marines is interesting. The season ended with Luffy wanting more than just to become Pirate King. The main issue I had was the filler episodes.
Egghead Arc | One Piece Season Fifteen
I’m not sure why this is season fifteen instead of fourteen, but that’s how Crunchyroll lists it. Right from the first two minutes of episode one, I noticed the animation quality was even better than last season. The lore is overflowing—there’s a “King” of the World Government. As for the most attractive One Piece characters, I now rank Perona 3rd, Sanji (in Nami’s body) or Pudding with a third eye second 2nd, and Aged-up Seraphim S-Snake 1st. It turns out there are multiple Vegapunks, and the Brain-Brain Fruit seems overpowered. I’m curious about why Luffy used Gear Five against Rob Lucci so early on. Rob Lucci vs. Luffy’s rivalry is the best in the series. I learned the Gum-Gum Fruit is actually called the Human-Human Nika Zoan type, not just renamed. I’d love more details on Sentimaru. Lucy from CP-0 was the first clone from MADS, based on a member of the Rocks Pirates. I finally realized Kalifa and Lucy aren’t the same person. The pacing of the Egghead Arc has been great, though the plot is still developing. Gear Four also got a new character design. Kid’s defeat at the hands of Shanks was shocking. Imu is the person—or thing—that leads the World Government, and the Five Elders and Imu are monstrous figures. Majority of CP-9 members are now CP-0. Koby’s not weak—he just lacks confidence. The plot about Monkey D. Garp’s death was poorly handled. R.I.P. the Hero of the Marines, Monkey D. Garp.
Movies | OVA's | Tv Specials
Fan Letter – The vibrant animation and the Marine dude were the only good things. I’m not sure if I’ll include this score in my overall review of the series. Now onto an every single One Piece movie spree! 5.4/10
Movie One – 6.7/10
Clockwork Island Adventure – The Liquid-Liquid Devil Fruit has to be one of the strongest, considering it lets the user transform into sea water. 7.4/10
Chopper's Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals – 7.1/10
Dead End Movie – 5.2/10
The Three Brothers' Bond - The Miraculous Reunion and the Inherited Will – 42% recap, 49% recap with a new angle, and 9% new scenes. That pretty much sums it up. 3.4/10
Adventure or Nebulandia – There was some over-average CGI, but otherwise, it was a solid movie. 6.6/10
Heart of Gold – Not sure if this movie is canon, but a Cipher Pol Zero member was surprisingly weak. 6.6/10
East Blue Recap Movie – Did a good job compensating for the first 100 episodes, though I hated the altered animation and character designs. It’s just a recap, so it won’t get a high score. 4.7/10
Skypiea Recap Movie – This recap movie improved the pacing and made much-needed tweaks, covering episodes 140 to 200. I loved the Skypiea arc, but like the East Blue recap, it was hurt by the changed character designs and animation. 9.4/10
The Curse of the Sacred Sword – Maya’s ritual helm would make a great alcohol mug. Also, what if Zoro getting stabbed by the Seven Star Sword is why his flame attacks are green? 5.6/10
Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island – Baron Omatsuri is an excellent antagonist. I think this movie has the best animation in the One Piece series, thanks to the fluid fight scenes and gorgeous character designs. It also has some of the best CGI usage I’ve seen in any anime. 9.5/10
The Giant Mechanical Soldier of Karakuri Castle – 5.4/10
Adventures in Alabasta – The pacing fix made this recap movie of the Alabasta arc far better than the actual arc. 7/10
Bloom in Winter, Miracle Sakura – This movie is basically the Drum Island arc with some big changes, like Franky and Robin already part of the crew, and Vivi being removed. Also, Wapol’s brother, Musshuru, is added, along with some truly awful CGI that wasn’t in the original arc. 6.6/10
Strong World – 7/10
3D: Strawhat Chase – 3.3/10
Film Z – 7.3/10
Film: Gold – 6.7/10
Stampede – Douglas Bullet has one of the best armament haki’s I’ve seen. 7.8/10
Film: Red – So, Shanks is related to Saint Garling Figarland? The World Government mentioned Uta is a Figarland, so I guess Shanks is the parent who’s a Figarland... but maybe it’s her mother instead? What? So Uta isn’t actually Shank’s blood daughter after all. 8.3/10
Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation - I feel as if this tv special could stand alone as it’s own show, if it had multiple episodes. Which I certainly would love to see, multiple of Ryuma’s adventures. Ryuma’s character and the animation were phenomenal. 9.2/10
Adventure in the Ocean’s Navel TV Special – 6.8/10
Open Upon the Great Sea! A Father’s Huge, Huge Dream! TV Special – 6.6/10

In reflecting on One Piece, several characters stood out as personal favorites, each leaving a lasting impression through their unique attributes and compelling arcs:
🥉 Enel / Perona
🥈 Bartolomeo / Magellan
🥇 Katakuri / Bon Clay, otherwise known as Number Two of Brook's Works.
These characters, with their distinctive abilities, multifaceted personalities, and significant contributions to the overarching narrative, have firmly etched themselves in my memory as the most impactful and memorable.
So, these are my “six” takeaways from this series
1.The pacing was excessively prolonged, with the only exception being the Egghead Arc, which maintained a satisfactory rhythm.
2. Recaps and flashbacks were employed far too frequently, becoming unbearably tedious for the majority of the time, though I must concede that each character's backstory was elegantly crafted.
3. The world-building is overly glorified, yet the series lore and the depth of its universe remain remarkably captivating.
4. Depth precipitin was abysmally executed continuously.
5. The overhaul of character designs was entirely unnecessary; personally, I found the original designs far more appealing. The sheer frequency of design alterations was overwhelming and exasperating.
6. The power system is fundamentally flawed, though the individual abilities are undeniably impressive.
7. The English voice actor for Zunesha delivered an exceptional performance.

Rewatch of Sokushi Cheat ga Saikyou sugite, Isekai no Yatsura ga Marude Aite ni Naranai n desu ga, and I started to feel like the dub just didn’t hit the same way as the Japanese dub did. One thing that bothered me was that the child version of Yogiri was voiced by the same person who voiced the protagonist in The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy, and I just didn’t feel it. I really appreciated Yogiri’s backstory, though—it was solid and added depth to his character. As for the CGI dragons, I
...
thought they were actually decent; I’d seen worse in other anime, so they didn’t bother me at all. In fact, the dragons were a minor part of a much bigger picture, as the show was absolutely filled with betrayal, making it incredibly engaging. Yogiri was such a strong protagonist, especially when he wasn’t constrained by the morals of others around him, which I found refreshing. I also still didn’t understand why the first swordswoman was upset with Yogiri—it felt like there was no real reason for it. While I absolutely loved Child Yogiri’s design, his voice actor just didn’t do it for me. It was hard to enjoy the character when his voice was so jarring in comparison to his appearance.

Rewatch Thoughts on Beyond the Boundary
Beyond the Boundary holds a special place as one of the first ten anime I ever watched, and revisiting it has been an interesting experience. From the outset, the animation is undeniably impressive. During my initial viewing, I watched it in Japanese, but now I'm experiencing it in English, and both dubs have their merits.
However, I'll admit that the plot and characters have largely faded from my memory. One notable thing I just realized is that I never watched Episode 0, Shinonome, on my first run-through. This episode seems to add context to the story, which I now regret missing.
The
...
spirit warrior families in this series have a fascinating depth to them, and I can't help but wonder how many other types of spirit warriors have been "wiped out" throughout this world. The combat is dynamic and fluid, with fights that are fast-paced and well-animated. Kanbara's Yomu form is particularly cool—its design is excellent, and the fight scenes showcasing it are beautifully executed.
Kanbara's Yomu abilities are wrapped in mystery, but it’s evident that he holds significant power within this universe. His potential seems almost tyrannical, and it's clear that his strength could easily rival any other force in the series. That said, the middle section of the show drags a bit. The dance sequences feel largely unnecessary, though the accompanying song does provide a certain energy, even if it’s simply a rehash of the Japanese version.
As for the two protagonists, Kanbara stands out as the superior one. Izumi Nase is an intriguing spirit warrior, but in a direct confrontation, Kanbara would likely obliterate her. I was genuinely taken aback by the powerful abilities of the appraisal Yomu character—did not see that coming at all. Am I mistaken, or did Izumi save the appraisal lady, only to shoot her shortly after?
It's also worth noting that Kanbara himself is imbued with Beyond the Boundary, which is considered one of, if not the most powerful Yomu in the series. Episode 10 to Episode 12, however, is a bit chaotic, with the plot feeling disjointed at times. One aspect that still bugs me is how Mirai Kuriyama manages to remove Beyond the Boundary—it felt like there wasn’t enough narrative weight or justification for how that event unfolded.
The final battle between Beyond the Boundary and the two protagonists is spectacular, but the surrounding plot lacks a solid foundation to support such a climactic moment. The resolution, particularly Mirai’s return, seems to have been included just for the sake of plot convenience, even though the reasoning behind it wasn’t thoroughly developed.
Lastly, I recently discovered that there’s a movie titled Beyond the Boundary: I'll Be Here - Future. I'll definitely be watching it for the first time soon, and I’m curious to see how it adds to the story.

"The Misfit of Demon King Academy" Season 2 featured a richly layered plot that demanded viewers' full attention to truly appreciate its depth.
The season was packed with intriguing characters and formidable antagonists, which kept the stakes high and the narrative engaging.
In Episode 21, the combination of the song’s vibe and choreography was so captivating that I found myself actually watching the entire segment instead of skipping through it, a rarity for me.
Despite some criticism directed at this season, it was important to recognize that the more convoluted aspects of the storyline, along with certain character designs—particularly those of the dragons—could have been executed better.
Additionally, the
...
frequent use of the Demon King’s “God Killing Fingers” move felt excessive at times, overshadowing the other strategic elements of the battles.
Overall, while this season had its flaws, it also offered plenty of moments that highlighted its potential and creativity.
One significant theme was the exploration of friendship and loyalty, showcasing how these bonds can influence characters' decisions and growth.
The character development, particularly for the supporting cast, added layers to the narrative, making their struggles and triumphs feel more impactful.
Furthermore, the world-building expanded this season, introducing new realms and lore that enriched the story’s universe.
The balance between intense battles and lighter moments helped to maintain a dynamic pacing, ensuring that the series remained engaging throughout.
The evolving rivalry between the protagonists and their foes added tension and intrigue, setting the stage for even greater conflicts in future seasons. Lastly, this show is full of stunning individuals.

I want to start this brief review with a sentiment I believe many would agree with: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was peak entertainment. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of the English dub for the first two episodes, so I switched to the Japanese version, which I found much better.
I was both surprised and pleased when episode one killed off an important character. The moment when the main character’s mom died due to his inability to afford better treatment was especially brutal. It may be obvious, but the music and animation were phenomenal. The relationship between David and Lucy definitely enhanced the show.
JK was a menace who adapted
...
easily—except for that needle. Maine's fate was genuinely sad. I didn’t mind the time lapse between episodes six and seven; David became older and more muscular. Looking back, I wish the pacing hadn’t been so fast. RIP Julio. Lucy’s backstory was solid, and watching David's mental decline, similar to Maine's, was heartbreaking.
At 20:08 in episode eight, was that a billboard featuring Ichigo from Bleach? Kiwi's betrayal felt justified, and I honestly thought David might slaughter her and the Four-Eyed guy (which he sort of did with the latter). The ending was tragic; not only did most of the protagonists die, but Lucy went to the moon without David. 😭. RIP all the protagonist but I believe Adam Smasher was the real fucking special one. I also would like to mention that Lucy is a top tier waifu.

If I had to summarize Log Horizon in a single sentence, I'd say it's a series where the characters lack depth and exhibit weak resolve. The cat character was particularly annoying throughout. It was evident that Shiro, the main character, has a penchant for overusing his torn binding spell.
The first hint of the characters' flimsy resolve came when Shiro decided to form a guild. I honestly felt relieved when the blonde character met his end, but, typical of anime tropes, no one truly dies. Why can't we have Attack on Titan-level stakes in every show? Shiro's decision to abandon his role as a strategic advisor
...
in Season 1 for some random girl felt misguided, and the push towards romance quickly became tedious. I really wish Shiro had just teamed up with the cat girl by the end of Season 1.
In Season 2, we mainly got foreshadowing for future events. For instance, Shiro’s death was hinted at in Episode 1 of the season. While the princess's decision to maintain the magic circle was logical, it was no surprise when she ultimately dismantled it. This felt like a poorly executed plot twist; the raid party had almost defeated the PKer, making the removal of the city’s seal unnecessary.
The trio raid boss battle was engaging, with unique designs, particularly the owl character in the gold storage part of the dungeon. I was genuinely surprised by the pink-haired character’s gender. Personally, I found the younger adventurers cringeworthy; they made an already dull show even less enjoyable. I regretted not skipping their scenes entirely.
It was baffling to see Shiro struggle with a simpler raid after tackling three previous bosses, especially considering he’s portrayed as a master tactician who remains composed in battle. The logic behind low-level characters defeating level 90 enemies didn’t add up. The D.D.D. tactician either underestimated Shiro or simply overlooked his abilities. Shiro's previous party leader seemed like she could have brought much-needed excitement to the series.
In Season 3, I found it odd that the princess was used as a liaison for foreigners in Akihabara. The reasons for the Roundtable's potential dissolution felt weak, and the election storyline was boring; I could predict Shiro’s actions from the outset. The brief backstory snippets were decent, but I ended up skipping most scenes involving the lower-level members of Log Horizon. I couldn’t understand why everyone panicked over being level 35, especially since many of them had fought level 90+ monsters and three raid bosses. It was unfortunate that I missed significant battles because those lower-level adventurers were involved.

This is my review for Mushoku Tensei season two part two.
I wonder if Rudeus used some sort of restoration spell on his house, if not, the renovation process was swift. I still hope that Rudeus makes that magic doll into a sentry for his property/house. I was looking for my previous review of the other seasons of Mushoku Tensei and it seems that my review is no longer there. R.I.P all 2,542 review that I lost. (They were on Disqus) Rudeus is very forceful when he is in the bed mood. I was glad to see that Badigadi was still a
...
solid character. I still don't fully understand why they all overreacted when Shizuku passed out from over exhaustion. Ruijerd was back, the best character was back, even if only for a moment he was back. So, there was no real elaboration on the brief tension between Badigabi and Ruijerd. That was a common theme of this season they would introduce new things or cliffhangers and never elaborate on them. I like that Rudeus toke an initiative to help his sister, when she was feeling like she was inadequate. Rudeus going through hardships is what makes this show entertaining, that and the animation of the action scenes. The Man God had always steered Rudeus in a somewhat good direction, that's why I wonder why didn’t Rudeus take heed to what he advised. I wonder why teleportation magic is forbidden magic, because I believe that it would be a really handy magic. Rudeus's personality is better when he is outside the School of Magic. The labyrinth they explored seemed cool. Roxy the third best waifu reunion with Rudeus was pretty entertaining. I found it funny that Paul's face gets the same face as Rudeus at times. To my understanding hydras have always been able to heal their heads back after decapitation, I wonder if in this series only some hydras can. The hydra fight was kind of buns and so was the animation this entire season compared to previous seasons. Rudeus killed his father, I don’t know why Rudeus was standing around he has the eye of foresight, and he has had close combat training so in my mind he should have been able to evade the hydras attacks, therefore making there no need for his father to enter vine. I wonder if Rudeus will ever be able to use his left hand again, also how did he actually lose his hand, I'm assuming it was due to the heat of the hydras eye. The old elf needed to stfu Rudeus was trying to stay fateful, and the dumb elf was trying to force him to be a scumbag. The worst part of this double wife ordeal is you just knew Sylphie would be alright with it. The main theme of this season was slice of life. I still very much believe that the MC and this anime in general is over glazed. Thus far season one part two is the best season that’s released. Pedophilia was also very prominent troughout this season just like every other. I did love the scene at the end of this season where Badigabi and Ruijerd seemed to be exploring together.

Ok so, I put down the outline for this review then I went to get something to eat, and now that I'm back I feel like this show may have resonated with me. Now I feel excluded or sad because I can't watch it anymore, it's not like I really liked this show or anything, I thought it was alright but still. I know it may sound cringy or stupid, but I genuinely don't feel emotions often, so I get overcome with an awkwardness when they do emerge.

Let's start this long review by saying I'm mediocre at remembering names. Also, this review will be in order by season and release date. During the start of this show, I was feeling huge Mashle vibes, but again, I did watch it just before this one. Yuno's first mission was a clear-as-day ploy that felt unnecessary. The three-phase fight to introduce the Eye of the Midnight Sun's leader was annoying; no one likes an over-exaggerated fight. The introduction to Charlotte Roselei made it seem like she was overly feminist, which I'm glad wasn't the case.
One of the many things I "love" about this show is
...
how I can skip the recap, yet for the following minute after, I’ll still get a recap. I also "love" how 35% or more of every episode is just recap. At first, I thought it was intriguing that Captain Charlotte likes Captain Yami, but later on, I really didn't care. There was a sudden and abrupt downgrade in animation quality at episode 38. I find it revolting that Noelle used to be such a bad friend; her logic went something like this: I will fight for some random underwater chick I just met, but not for the boy who has constantly been protecting me.
I also found it funny when Asta got back up to fight one of the Eye of the Midnight Sun's top members, and all she did was sit on the sideline. This series felt like it was just dragging things out for a moment, then Yami killed the furry guy. I love how Yami is pretty much the father of everyone in the Black Bulls' squad. I found the underwater girls' singing appalling. I also found it odd that they left season one off in such an odd place, but whatever.
Black Clover season 2 started episode 1 with an outstanding cliffhanger, even though that cliffhanger was false. I found it amusing how the fire lady of the Eye of the Midnight Sun acted like she was getting revenge right away after her comrades' losses, even though her subordinate clearly said that they had been tailing Asta’s group. This implied that they could have attacked them at any moment. Other than the furry guy from the Eye of the Midnight Sun, the Midnight Sun is a bunch of cowards. Another moment I was wanting was for the Witch Queen to solo both the Eye of the Third and the Diamond Kingdom's elite. The confirmation that Mars and the Third Eye's Fana were friends didn't really come as a surprise. The Witch Queen's abilities were the coolest shown thus far. Another astounding moment was Vanessa's new ability to control fate.
Yeah, so now I just skip that dumb underwater girl's singing. How is Asta struggling with a volcano after fighting a flame salamander? Yes, I know he did have Mars’s healing flame, but he still had to push through the heat. When they swarmed Finral's brother, I thought it was a Black Bulls' moment. I skipped episode 82; I hope it was just filler. Another peak fight was great, except it looks like they actually had a fight budget this season. Gordon is my favorite character in the show, with a close rival being Julius, the Wizard King. Episode 89 was the best thus far because I finally got to see my goat, Gordon, in action. I did not think the fire lady would have beaten the guy that can copy powers so badly. Julius smacked the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun. Julius did not lose the battle; that was all just plot armor.
The plot was very flimsy this season, but the fights were phenomenal. I still don't understand what's with this animation studio leaving the seasons off at such weird places. The introduction to this devil was amazing, and so was his word magic. I still wonder why Mercury's spell didn’t get canceled out by Asta’s anti-magic. The introduction to Asta's devil through a vague shadow was fabulous. To put it very simply, the Magic Parliament was just flat-out aggravating. Episode 124 is another full recap episode. Okay, now the animation studio is just trying to piss me off—another full recap episode right after another one (Episode 125). More plot information on Gordon was amazing. The sudden need for preparation seemed a bit stupid to me, considering everything prior was done in an urgent manner.
I still refuse to listen to that commotion the underwater girl makes. The Magic Parliament's members were just whiny and couldn’t do anything. Asta and Noelle losing to a bunch of nobodies still doesn't make sense. I still have no idea why Julius stationed five squads with captains for a bunch of flimsy kidnappers. I was sincerely thinking of dropping this series because of this horrendous arc. Why, oh why, did they introduce the gay subplot? The conflict resolution was half-assed, and I must say this was by far the worst arc (3.4/10). The captain battle was the only genuinely entertaining part of this season. It’s appalling that Asta got promoted once in season one and hasn’t moved a single rank since then, even with all of his cataclysmic takedowns. This show truly has horrible plot progression.
So Asta helps out crucially in fighting a devil, but yet he is struggling against some spirit thing. I thought this season was starting off good, but by the third episode, it was already 90% recap. I’m not even going to lie—at the end of episode 158, that devil scene was incredible. I don't really think much about Asta's new look, but wow, Yuno’s a prince of Spades. Can’t say I’m surprised, because ever since I saw his necklace, I knew he was royalty somehow. Let’s go! People are finally dying! Once again, no crucial side characters ended up dying. We finally got to see who Asta's mom was, but still, we have no idea who his father is.
Season 4 flew by. This season was, in my opinion, the only season that was constantly entertaining and intriguing. I also want to know way more about the devils and how powerful Asta’s devil is compared to the others. Now for my review of the Sword of the Wizard King movie. Yuno was quite a bit friendlier to everybody than in the main series. But for the most part, everything was consistently lining up with the actual series. The art style and animation were outstanding, especially compared to the main series. The design of the sword that the first Wizard King made was especially impeccable. One thing that I should make clear is that every sword design I’ve seen in this show thus far has been phenomenal. I also think that my rating of the movie might be a little biased because I personally really like the Wizard King topic.

Ps, I never did watch season ones ova episodes. Season 2 was one of the best arcs of anime. This show also has the second-best power system. Prisoners of the Sky movie I disliked like that they said that those 6 nobody demon knights of black were even remotely close to the same level as the 10 commandments. Bellion was a great character btw. The Demon King has a great design that is top tier. I dare say that he has the best character design of any fiction character I’ve saw thus far. The plot was crisp and interesting all throughout the seasons. Melascula of
...
Faiths fight and the plot surrounding it was quite bad. But what made it worse was the back-to-back bad fight between Escanor vs Meliodas. Unlike Melascula’s fight Meliodas’s masters fight was decently entertaining. Some notable characters were Demon King, Bellion, Escanor, Calmadios, Cusack. Season four introduced us to Kings new secondary design which was ass. I still don't understand why Meliodas never used his god form when battling his father? Kings and Diane’s relationship is by far the worse in the series. The last words of Escanor were extraordinary. Arthur's back like why the fuck can’t anyone just die and stay dead in the show. I was glade when the Chaos Cat was delt with. Yay finally Elizabeth is dead finally some from the main protagonist's group that dies (No it was just a illusion well figure). The introducment of Meliodas's son was perfect. Cursed by Light movie was unique and entertaining. The Grudge of Edinburgh movie DON'T EXICST!
