Overall Score 10/10
Promare is best described as the natural evolution of series like Gundam, Gurren Lagann, and Fire Force with an extra helping of Studio Trigger's genius and passion. This was a masterwork, plain and simple!
Story: 10/10
Promare's story is far deeper than I ever expected it to be. Trigger managed to make a movie with an exceptionally compelling story and an important message on top of the gorgeous art that is featured.
Art & Animation: 10/10
I had very high expectations in this category and boy did it deliver! The design, use of colors (and lack thereof), and fluidity (when they wanted it) were amazing. At
...
some points in Promare, they used greyscale on most of the screen at the same time as a flashy part to further emphasize the tone and action. Other times, they used a more... comic book style movement for certain effects (if that makes sense).
Sound: 9/10
The voice actors were on their A game, everyone put forth their best work. The reason I didn't give full marks was because I wasn't the biggest fan of Lucia's voice, but the VA did what they were going for perfectly. The soundtrack is top tier as well, creating a perfect harmony between all the technical elements and drawing them into the story.
Characters: 10/10
The chemistry between characters really sold the story, if I didn't believe their connections and emotions, the story would've had significantly less impact. All of the main characters had their own motivations and ideals.

First off, if you haven’t watched the original Gundam, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, and Gundam Unicorn, not a single second of Gundam NT would make any sense. Whether bc of lore, locations, power scaling, characters, or the geopolitical situation, this is not an entry level Gundam. On one hand that’s good because it can get right into the good stuff, but on the other hand, it’s a damn shame bc this was an excellent Gundam movie, and not as many people can enjoy it.
The fights were beautiful, flashy, and made sense based on power levels (looking at you original Gundam). Of the Gundams I’ve
...
watched, this one has the most dialogue during battles, which I’m not sure how I feel about but it definitely wasn’t disruptive enough to be a strong negative.
The story was great and told really well. It used flashbacks to the MCs’ childhoods a lot but they did it in a way that was both interesting and non-repetitive and mostly non-disruptive. My biggest complaint would be that the antagonist was a “Big Bad Guy” something that really no Gundam (that I’ve watched) had done. Big Bad Guys aren’t nearly as interesting because the second you see them you automatically think “oh this guy is evil.” You don’t get the chance to hear them out first - if they even have anything to say. Sgt Zoltan, the Big Bad Guy, actually did have a real motivation which was revealed in the last few scenes but even that was only inserted at the end when you already had an unchangeable opinion of him (the motivation sucked anyway which is also a negative). There were some points that the philosophy was a little heavy-handed and some points where it fit to a T.
Story: 7.5/10
Art: 10/10
Sound: 9/10
Character: 6/10 but mostly weighed down by Sgt Zoltan
Enjoyment: 9/10
Overall: 8/10

Try to imagine Food Wars' but a very bare-bones plot and cooking is switched with gambling and that's Kakegurui. Oh but don't forget to add psychopathy to 90% of its characters.
Story (2/10):
Nearly all of Kakegurui's entire runtime is devoted to gambling battles, so the story is barely sufficient setup. While it works for the first 2 times, it gets repetitive after that. Yumiko, the MC, doesn't have a motive to her gambling, she just does it for the fun of it. That's where I have a problem. See, the battles are done fairly well. Despite knowing before the game even starts that Yumiko will
...
somehow win, they were able to make the battles interesting by having all/most of the gambles they make on fake games, or otherwise ones that aren't usually bet on (ex: Memory). But when these battles have no end goal ahead, and you already know that Yumiko will, in fact, win due to poor writing, all of the battles lose their purpose.
Art (8/10):
The art here is nothing to write home about except for the OP. The OP was very well drawn/animated and even at ep 12, I was still captivated by it.
Sound (10/10):
As you would expect for a show with "suspense" and "surprise twists" and high stakes, characters often are surprised, triumphant, excited (read as: sexual excited), in despair, etc. This was (luckily) done very well. Not only that, but the OP was very catchy (in a good way) and I even added it to my playlist of anime music. Very well done in this department!
Character (6/10):
As I said earlier, most of the cast is comprised of psychopaths. This made the battles more interesting in some cases because Yumiko's opponents were hard to read, but in one or 2 cases it made it much easier. I won't say which to avoid spoilers. But even for the ones where it added mystery, you cant just make someone psychopath and call it good writing, especially with how often its done in Kakegurui.
Enjoyment (8/10):
Despite its many flaws, when I watched it, I was in need of a discount Food Wars and Kakegurui served that purpose. If that's what you want, try Kakegurui out. If not, well, its still a decent show, just don't expect the world from it. The OP was a shining star, and I highly suggest watching it on YouTube if you don't pick up the whole show.

Story (10/10): One might think that a 12 minute short could not possibly have enough time to develop a heartwarming story and make its viewers truly feel the emotions intended by the producers. There is not a single word spoken in this entire short, yet it tells a story greater than any words in the world could do justice. Tsumiki no Ie is the epitome of "A picture tells a thousand words." The story itself is about a man in a world where the sea level constantly rises, and when he accidentally drops his favorite pipe in the water, he dives down into the ocean.
...
He dived for the pipe and found something greater than that.
Art (10/10): The art style in Tsumiki no Ie can only be described as having a comforting, homey feel. The choice of art style fits Tsumiki no Ie's story and message to a T. The art is a breath of fresh air I did not know I needed.
Sound (10/10): Despite not having a single word in the entire short, in dialogue or the music, the soundtrack adds a unique aspect to an already beautiful short. The soundtrack, lack of dialogue, and the art style work together like a symphony to provide the perfect atmosphere to present Tsumiki no Ie's message.
Character (10/10): The characters' emotions are quite real. When they were sad, I was sad, when they were happy, I was happy. Their motives, their memories, their way of life was realistic to the extreme. I could relate to each and character, despite only seeing them for 12 minutes.
Enjoyment (10/10): I am beyond impressed by Tsumiki no Ie's use of storytelling techniques, art, sound, and characters. As MALGraph's Short Movie Achievement says "Good things come in small packages." I did not believe that statement before but now, after watching Tsumiki no Ie, I completely understand.
Overall (10/10): I think that what most shows try to do in 12 episodes or more, Tsumiki no Ie did in 12 minutes, and not only that but achieved it in a way that a 12 episode show could not. Tsumiki no Ie has opened my eyes to the world of shorts and has changed my perspective on both the shorts genre as a whole, but also the concept of a wordless anime.

TRIGGER WARNING FOR HARMONY: Many suicides are shown on screen, rape is discussed in relative detail
Story (1/10): The story was comprised of the MC being info-dumped by everyone, even if the person giving the information isn't doing it out of their own interest. The story uses suicide as a plot device, pretending (at the same time) that it is both poetic, and a casual part of life. In reality, suicide is neither of those things. Harmony comments how books can cause suicide imitations if the suicide is described in detail, yet has no problem whatsoever showing full suicide scenes within the movie. Harmony's plot itself
...
is also flawed, as it starts out as a utopia with problems, but it cant decide whether it wants to be Orwellian or Huxleyian. If it had chosen one (or neither) this would not be an issue, but every other scene it seems they change their mind. Harmony pretends to use philosophy as a plot device, but in actuality, it is just high-school level science. Looking at the story from a scientific lense, plot points have several plot holes, even when giving the world the benefit of the doubt. For example: "This rare recessive gene can cause the human to be born without a conscience... But then, her conscience was awakened by the horrors of Chechnya." That's just not how a conscience works.
Art (9/10): While some backgrounds weren't perfect and some faces were bland, most of the art was quite beautiful. Important sidenote: the suicides scenes had blood and LOTS of it. Do not take these warnings lightly!
Sound (7/10): Nothing to write home about, but nothing bad either.
Characters (1/10): The side characters only existed for info-dumps, and once they finished their shpiel, there were never seen again. The MC and her friends try to glorify suicide, and they are one dimensional too. Throughout the story, the MC flip-flops her ideology 3 times within a scene 4 separate times.
Enjoyment (1/10): I rolled my eyes countless times while watching Harmony, but I think you gleaned that from the rest of my review already.
Overall (2/10): The artwork was beautiful but the rest of Harmony was not, do I need to say more?
TL;DR: Do not watch this.

Story (10/10): This mystery anime is a breath of fresh air. The story is unique, cutting, interesting and very deep. The ending was not something that you figure out by EP 4 and then think that all the characters are stupid.
Art (9/10): The art for the OP and ED was excellent but the character design, although really good, it wasn't to the same level as the OP and ED.
Sound (9/10): The OP was incredible (one of my favorites) and the ED was great as well. The voice acting was also great.
Character (7/10): I liked all of the characters but there wasn't anything too special
...
about them.
Enjoyment (10/10): I loved the show a lot.
Overall (10/10): This show is an excellent mystery anime with a great OP and ED and if you are thinking about watching it, I highly suggest doing so!

Story: (10/10)
Yes its a mecha anime, no it is not just fighting. MSG: IBO has a clear, meaningful, deep, personal story throughout the entirety of the show, if I could rate the story higher I would.
Art: (8.5/10)
The art in the show is normally great but there are also times where the backdrop isn't perfect.
Sound: (10/10)
Incredible OPs and great voice acting; they really make me connect with the characters
Characters: (10/10)
The characters grow with you. They are all unique and even those who are based on a cliche are run with excellently. I would die for even a barely shown minor character, that's how fleshed out
...
the characters are and yet there aren't random pointless scenarios that make this happen, everything has a purpose in this show.
Enjoyment: (10/10)
Let me make this clear, this was my first mecha anime and I did not expect to like it at all, in fact, the reason I watched the first episode is I accidentally clicked on it once and was too lazy to go out of it, but I digress. What I got out of this show is that no genre of anime is restricting, after all, I assumed this would be a RAH RAH show with pointless fight scenes. Boy, was I wrong! This show easily took a spot on my favorites list and I assure you that it will for you as well.
Overall: (10/10)
I feel that I made my thoughts clear enough above but if I didn't, feel free to leave a comment on my profile or message me for clarification.
PS: while MSG: IBO is a part of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, it is not a part of any previously existing Gundam Universe, so you do not need to have watched any of the previous shows to watch MSG: IBO. I know because that's what I did.

Story: (9/10)
Do you like high stakes gambling, strategy, and real, permeating intensity? This show has it all. (I don't want to spoil anything so this is all the explanation you get)
Art: (6.5/10) I personally am not the biggest fan of the old-school art style but I will admit it grew on me. Also, it does the old art style quite well.
Sound (9/10)
The openings are super intense and I personally love them, just don't have the volume up too high, (RIP headphone users, but don't worry, the OPs are amazing). Also, I like the: ZAWA ZAWA... ZAWA ZAWA ZAWA ZAWA (you'll know what I mean).
...
Also, the voice acting is great!
Characters: (10/10)
They have real emotions, real struggles, real voice acting. What more do you need?
Enjoyment: (10/10)
It a fun yet serious show and they pull it off expertly.
Overall: (10/10)
I came into it expecting a lot and it exceeded my expectations for it to be a great series.

Story: (8/10)
The storyline is common for a sports anime but it is done better than others. It has more strategy (fewer super-powers, when they do exist they are properly explained and make sense) and better setup than any other sports anime I have seen.
Art: (7/10)
Art can be good at times are better at others, the background can either be breathtaking or decent, the character art looks great and gets better the farther in you go.
Sound: (10/10)
Wonderful OPs and EDs, you will want to re-listen to all of them. Voice acting is great, really in-character and fits the characters well.
Characters: (8/10)
Some cliches but there
...
is real character development and the cliches are thrown away (and not overnight, they actually have reasons for their character development)
Enjoyment: (10/10)
This show is so fun to watch and isn't hard to keep up with. It has real tense moments, and there isn't just fake tension where the MC just wins no matter what.
Overall: (10/10)
This is by far the best sports anime I have ever seen and would HIGHLY suggest watching it!!

Story: (2/10) (down below)
Art: (5/10) its decent, nothing special
Sound: (7/10) great/decent OPs, nothing you'll love, nothing you will hate too much
Characters: (3/10) only likable charter is a dog, he doesn't even show up for a while and isn't drawn too well but I'm obligated to mention the cute dog (more below)
Enjoyment: (3/10) games get repetitive and even before that you can tell they are cliches (more down below)
Overall: (2/10) this show is bad (more below)
So let me just tell you if you are okay with ultra-super-over-the-top powers with little explanation or reason to them, this is your show. All the characters are cliches and even
...
the ones who aren't, make themselves into bs cliches. My favorite character is a dog that occasionally appears and it is cute. the dog is the reason I am rating the characters as a (3/10) instead of a 1 or 2. Also made enjoyment go from 2 to a (3/10), same for overall, which rated as a (2/10). The story is there I guess but there no tension. All the show is are basketball games, which makes sense for a basketball show but it means ZERO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. people get better because they will themselves to, not because of a training camp or anything. I know this is super popular but you really shouldn't watch this.
