''My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined''
-TheReportOfTheWeek
I ... actually dropped UQ holder.
I love the manga, and love Negima in it's every adaptation.
...
But when I saw and knew that had skipped a lot of the story, it was done, I couldn't bare to watch another one of Ken Akamatsu's manga being adapted before it's done and being completly shreded.
As of what I have seen and what I have been told from trusted sources, the story is rushed and most of it has been skipped, making it even more mediocre than I thought it would be (even though the manga is ok-tier)
The ost and sounds didn't strike me as much as 2005 Negima, which I still have that one song in my head.
The Characters are Akamatsu tier, so basically there is too much, you think you don't care about them, but at the end you still care enough about them to be annoyed when the anime skips the little character development they should have had.
The anime in itself is a rushed mess, it melts 13 volumes of a single manga series into a mere 12 episodes.
I wouldn't recommend it if you like Negima, you would be better off just reading the manga which is actually pretty good. If it wasn't for the fact that I love the manga I would gladly rate this anime 2/10, because taking the old Negima opening and making the new characters sing over it ain't enough for me to appreciate an anime adaptation that is beyond atrocity.

Warning ! This review is biased, the Negima anime is the first anime I watched whilst knowing it was Japanese animation. (I had seen anime before without knowing what ''anime'' meant) And is Therefore my favorite anime and manga, and the holder of Best Waifu which I won't name. So extremely biased indeed.
Negima, also known as abandonment issues and autism the animation, is an anime full of dumb soft ecchi and funny jokes.
First, the art-style is old and might not be ''newbie'' friendly, but it sure has it's charms.
The Ost is legendary, it's so
...
good that 15 years later, I'm still listening to it and changing from one music to another depending the situation I'm in, when outside.
The sound effect are also quite good, the one when they are reciting spells might be my favorite.
The Characters are ok-tier, there is 30+ ''main characters'', most of them seems to be there just to include ever anime tropes, but in the manga, they all end up being good characters.
And for the most anticipated part, the story. Even though a bit lacking and following the Akamatsu Curse that says that each and every manga made by Ken Akamatsu must have an anime adaptation before it is finished and that therefore they are gonna have an alternate ending. It is still fairly good. It's not crazy good and super long like the actual manga it's adapted from, but it's still good enough that it made me cry when I watched it as a kid and once more when I re-watched it as an adult, which is rare since I'm not the kind to cry over an anime.
Also the humor in this anime is quite good.
Overall an all rounded Ok-tier anime. Which I gave a Ten, because to me, it's a masterpiece (less than the manga but still).

I never turn off my brain while watching anime, except for this one, and even then I didn't enjoy it.
The Art Style is outstanding, it's beautiful, but it is all useless because the anime in itself is bad.
The characters are annoying, the plot was so bad I hard guessed it on episode 4 ... episode 4 out of 22 !
Also I hate the fact the MC can't stop about telling us that ''Urr Durr I express myself through music, but when I'm playing it I can't stop from having an internal monologue that mostly won't make anysense and where I'll repeat myself a
...
bajillion time'', and I was like, Ok if you talk through music, then ... let me hear your music you dumb ersatz of a MC.
Then the ost was kinda good, but it was not enough, coming from a music anime.
So overall, an overrated anime that even tho it talks about music, doesn't let us enjoy it, which is a bad side since it's the only thing it's got to it.
