Plot: 10/10

The story is beautifully crafted, centering around the church, which serves as both the primary antagonist and the embodiment of the world's dominant belief system. Any ideology that contradicts the church's doctrine is deemed heretical and blasphemous. The narrative follows multiple main characters, each carrying a piece of 'history' that influences the next.

Characters: 10/10

The characters are exceptionally well-crafted. From the start, each one is introduced with their flaws and struggles front and center. Over time, you witness their growth and transformation, which is both compelling and relatable. My personal favorites were Oczy and Badeni, two characters I ... initially disliked. Oczy seemed weak-willed and irritating, while Badeni came off as arrogant and equally annoying. However, as they began to learn from each other, their development was so well-executed that they became my top picks in the series.

Even the side characters, particularly those within the inquisition and the church, are remarkably well-written. Without delving into spoilers, every character, whether fully developed or not, feels essential and authentic, with real stakes and consequences.

Dialogue: 10/10

The show relies heavily on dialogue, with only a handful of action scenes—none exceeding forty seconds. While this might sound dull in theory, it’s anything but. The conversations are deeply introspective and intellectually stimulating. As someone well-versed in astronomy, I still found myself learning so much while watching. The dialogue is thought-provoking and genuinely beautiful.

World/Realism: 10/10

The church and its inquisition serve as the central antagonistic forces, creating a world filled with genuine tension. The inquisitors, tasked with eliminating heretics (our protagonists), are a constant danger. The show avoids plot armor, making every moment feel high-stakes and realistic. The world-building is immersive, and the characters' motivations are understandable. I often found myself reflecting on my own beliefs and contemplating how I would act in their situations.

However, what makes it so compelling is that the Church isn’t portrayed as a mere antagonist for the sake of creating conflict. Instead, its members are depicted as deeply sincere in their belief in God, and this genuine faith is portrayed with both beauty and nuance. Certain scenes capture their devotion, while others thoughtfully challenge their beliefs, creating a situation where you can't pick out one party to support or deny.

Overall:

As my ratings suggest, I firmly believe this show stands shoulder-to-shoulder with masterpieces like Vinland Saga and Death Note. From its beautiful soundtrack to its richly developed characters, it tackles profound themes such as the suppression of women’s education, the consequences of challenging the status quo, and the exploration of philosophy, science, heliocentrism, and the concept of God. This is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates a thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating journey.

This is one of the greatest anime ever created, thats it.

Very rarely do you find an anime story with a concept so captivating, a score so entrancing, characters so interesting and animation so beautiful. IG have really been on the top of their game with banger project after banger project and just like their last few works, they've struck diamond once again.

Tengoku daimakyo follows parallel plot lines/events that are differed by timeline, and as you gradually relieve a mysterious past, the onslaught of the present is thrust upon you. The world is so empty yet so alive, the mysteries that you feel you can wrap ... your head around are still growing and the characters...

The characters steal the show, from snarky remarks, comedic bits to absolutely gut wrenching scenes. I laughed, cheered and cried all while watching this show. Not once did I feel bored, not once did I want to watch something else. The show was absolutely perfect.

The mystery however, is only beginning and as the manga moves along and the studio eventually adapts a second season, I WILL BE SEATED !

Can an anime really go two for two? Absolutely.

Initially, I thought this season might fall short compared to the last and while it lacks some of the elements that made the previous season truly unforgettable for me, it still holds up as a fantastic continuation.

This season expands the world and dives deeper into the characters, individuals who have known nothing but war—forcing them to confront the question: what comes after? Their struggles and anxieties are evident as they grapple with the possibility of peace and among them stands a headless reaper, a complex character who, at his core, is just a boy trying to protect ... his friends from death.

The story takes a fresh direction, exploring new facets of this war-torn world, and it all builds to an incredible conclusion as both worlds finally collide (I cried like crazy). While I still consider Season 1 the stronger installment, this season was an outstanding follow-up, one I’d happily rewatch again and again.

11 episodes of perfection.

So very rarely does an anime come out and I binge watch it within one day, especially in this current period. That is what 86 is, a journey that transcends emotions, that transcends actions.

We see a world based on status, plagued by racism and the characters we follow are some of the greatest individuals you would ever get the grace of following.

We get to know them for less than 8 episodes, some we get to know for less than 3. But even with 10 minutes of screen time, they all felt so real.

From the start to the very end, I ... told myself, this would be a mere 8/10 show. It’ll be good, but honestly it was more than that. This was perfect. The way it was shot, the soundtracks Hiroyuki composed. If i was told Hajime Isayama made this, I wouldn’t even think about disagreeing.

The show blew me away, the way it always showed more than one perspective, even going as far as showing a third in episode 10. This was a masterpiece I'd watch a thousand times over, a journey of sadness, grief, anger. A journey to the end.

Good food, good jokes and as if that wasn't enough, they gave us a good story.

From the start even with all the memes and spoilers i saw, I merely thought this was a fantasy show with subtle tones of humor and ridiculous budget to spend on animating food, yet as I watched and watched. That wasn't the case.

The opening(comedy) serves as an appetizer for the main dish that is the story, the sheer amount of lore that exists within the world rivals other very good manga that dedicate their entirety to sharing said lore.

Weird events happen within the dungeon, weird characters enter into the dungeon ... and the story creeps up behind you, washing you with anguish and hope that everything turns out fine. I view myself as someone that wants the best ending for a story, in AoT's case I view the ending Isayama gave us as the best ending to the story.

But probably, this is one of the few shows I want to end cleanly. I just want the characters to live happily ever after and drown themselves in weirdly textured food. This bunch of miscreants deserve nothing but happiness and I want to be there, seeing it happen as the screen finally fades to black.

I won't tell you you're dumb for not understanding this show, I don't either.

But what this show presents is a crossroads. Why must everything in life be understood? At what times is it acceptable to just sit and watch as madness unfolds around you.


Thats what Sonny Boy is. A weird adventure with weird kids in an even weirder world. Yet, regardless of how confusing and weird the story tended to be. I watched to the very end and I was left heartbroken?


I don't know. I'll rewatch this show in four years and I think everyone else should too. This is a journey, one that is ... beautiful to look at and regardless of how weird it might be, just boils down to kids being kids. I think.

Episode 11 stands as one of my favorite anime episodes to date.

My brother tried putting me onto this show and I visibly gagged. However two months later here I am.

However. God is it entertaining, seeing the world revolve so stupidly around Cid and seeing the members of shadow garden create perfect reasons as to why he does the dumb things he does is a joy to watch. The fights as well are pleasantly satisfying to watch tbh, I didn't expect much but damn sometimes i get blown away by how good it is.

If you like comedy and dumb things that happen because the fate of ... the universe wills it. This is the perfect show for you( ZEUS GIVE ME
SEASON 3 AND MY LIFE WILL BE YOURS!!!)

From the very first episode, I was hooked.

Picture this, a dull day, every single anime feels like a chore to watch but immediately i put this on. I couldn't look away, the animation the serene under tones the music provides. I was a fish hooked on a curved piece of metal.


The villains were menacing, the time loop aspect was amazing as well. While i think, the same complaints for rezero apply here(With him dying way too much, especially in certain stretches of episodes) It doesn't take too much away from the overall enjoyment of the show. Watch it, you'll have a blast!

The characters are tossed into a world with monsters and magic and our main cast acts like any other average group of individuals. Life is hard, people get injured and monsters are extremely strong.


Coming off several other 'OP' isekai this was definitely a breath of fresh air, I had the same vibe watching this as i did with Frieren but funny enough even though I think Frieren is the better piece of work. This stuck with me way more.


The characters acting like normal humans, the world developing and reacting to their change. Characters dying ... and everything being tossed into the fray. This was probably the first time I saw an anime that made me feel this way, Feelings of dread, loss, sadness all on a humane scale.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and was sad to hear that it won't be getting any more content but nonetheless I believe this is an amazing anime that everyone should watch.

This is my favorite anime. An episodic masterpiece that while having its flaws, i couldn't help but laugh and cry.

As a big fan of Yasuhiro and all his works, Gungrave, Trigun, BBB. I was having a blast while watching this season. From the well animated fight scenes to the godlike score by Taisei, to the characters that while larger than life at times, still felt so minuscule in the world of hellsalems lot.

The episodic nature throws alot of people off, it's understandable but for me. It merely made me love it more, watching several separate stories, the characters grow and develop. Coupled along with the ... opening and endings that made me tear up a bit each time. This is truly one of the greatest thing's I've seen, not in terms of sheer quality. But with just how it resonated with me at the time.
