Being both not-just-regular shounen, they're pretty much similar in the way they use the element of suspense, which is marvelous in both of them. Also alike is the use of comedy. They also resemble each other in the way they treat of matters such as values and life itself, and each of their corresponding main characters have a particular personal goal. Oh, and they've both had a previous animation work before they had even ended (Fullmetal Alchemist) or gone far ahead of the script (Hunter x Hunter). Personally, this are my two favorite shounen.

Guilty Crown

Both have a story placed in an overuled Japan (by different reasons), a protagonist with a rare power and a few of his enemies which have them so, these rare powers the protagonist stands his ground depend on other people, both involve a force of resistance (Guilty Crown) or rebellion (Code Geass) against the established order, and either one of them makes use of mechas. This are pretty much their alike points. I recommend you to find the differences (that are quite some) by yourself as you enjoy the anime.

Bakuman.

Both are based on original works by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. If you've seen either one of them, and not the other, then this other is a must. They're absolutely different: from plot to soundtrack. The one thing they have in common is the fact that this two series are animations of the two and only colaborations (this far) by authors Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. They're both quite good and unique in their own way. In 'Bakuman', you're pulled into the very essence of anime: its original form, manga. On the other side, 'Death Note' has an incredible element of suspense that will draw you into the next chapter without the will to stop.
