This is my first review and I would like to apologize for any incorrect grammar.

First of all, I have seen the whole series twice: once before reading the visual novel and once afterwards.

Story: 9
The story is great. Although it could be confusing as it is a story that consists of two stories from the point of view of different characters. Each characters shows their own struggles in life and how love can help each character live through their pain. I gave this a 9, whilst I very much enjoyed the ending between Chihiro and Renji, to the point that I actually preferred over to ... the Renji/Chihiro ending in the visual novel, however as a consequence they did not concentrated as much on the relationship between Kei and Kyousuke.

While I do very much enjoy the animation done by Shaft as their style of animation is very twisting, you would know what I mean if you have seen their over works such as Bakemonogatari and Maria Holic.
I gave this an 9 rather than 10 probably due to my biased opinion of comparing with the animation within the visual novel. (Which i believe Shaft was also involved to an extent). However with Shaft's animation style it brings serveral different tones effectively.

Sound: 9
I have enjoyed the music very much, particularly the ending song used in episode final episode of the series 'Yuukyuu no Tsubase 07mix' as this song was used as the opening in the first part of the visual novel.

Characters: 9
After watching the series a second time, i liked the fact that they have brought in the original voice actors that was used in the game, I thought that it showed consistency as an adaption is aimed to bring the same feel to the original material to an extent.

Overall, as an adaption, it was beautifully executed. At times I feel that some parts of the story was superior to it's original material, mainly the Chihiro/Renji section. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys romance/drama titles
