So far there are 11 volumes of Yotsuba&! and I've really enjoyed reading them all.
Story:
There isn't a specific storyline to this manga, it follows the life of 5 year old Yotsuba and her daily life. What I like about this manga is that because it's centred around Yotsuba, who is a small child and this brings back happy memories of being a younger child myself.
There isn't too much dialogue, and things are nicely spaced out so it's fresh and easy to read.
There is lots of random humour, a lot based around Yotsuba's lack of understanding (as she's still growing up and learning). Also other characters
...
have their random outbursts too (especially her dad). So I find this manga perfect as something to lighten the mood if I had a bad day.
The little "slogan"/"motto" of this manga is very simple but has a very good meaning. "Enjoy everything"
The manga takes lots of simple everyday things and shows it to Yotsuba who still has to learn about these things.
From Greetings to Bubbles and taking pictures on a camera, seeing these through Yotsuba and her reactions to new things are fun to read about.
Art:
It's a very simple art style, which helps to create the light and happy mood.
However the background art is AMAZING at times. It looks so simple yet it feels so detailed. It really suits the feel of the manga and I think, if it was too detailed in the art, then the mood would drop a little.
I have noticed there is a slight change in the art style (comparing volume 1 to volume 11) but there isn't anything wrong with it.
Character:
Character designs are simple and rather plain but since this is a slice-of-life, I guess that's just how we are. So we can't really complain.
None of the characters are too detailed in their backgrounds and personalities, everything is pretty simple so it's easy to pick out who's who and what to expect.
Yotsuba (the main character) is really cute, I find her really funny and author did a good job of making her seem child-like.
Though I am surprised that her next door neighbours aren't annoyed that Yotsuba seems to freely go to their house and let herself in. (Maybe it's because she's 5, I'm not sure)
There isn't anything very special about the characters, they all are likeable one way or another.
Enjoyment:
Since there isn't anything "heavy" about this manga, its perfect for comfort reading or if you just need a little cheering up.
There are parts which make me laugh really loudly without meaning to, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Overall there is nothing I actually dislike about this manga, it's been a joy to read! I hope you enjoy it too!

It took me a while to get into this anime at first (about 3 episodes) but once it got going, IT GOT GOING and then I was hooked.
Story--
I'm not a huge fan of basketball so I was amazed at how the story kept me interested and opened my eyes to this sport. So in my opinion they story was very well done (considering how much I HATE sports).
The pace of it was good, and kept the my thoughts going on wondering what will happen next.
When they play matches in the game, I always had about 90% of what was going to happen. The reason you
...
watch is because you want to see HOW it happens.
So the forte in this anime is showing how they get to that very obvious win.
Things get a little cheesy at times, but it gets cheesy during the right parts if that makes sense...
Art--
The thing that annoyed me was the line-shading they did on the characters. It just looked really ugly to me, but eventually you get used to seeing it and it doesn't feel that weird after a while.
The animation wasn't ALWAYS that good, but this was mainly during parts that weren't the basketball matches. The more action there was I thought the better the animation was. However running and walking animation felt awkward at times.
Art style fits the characters and the type of story, so nothing felt really out of place.
Sound--
I thought sound effects were pretty good, nothing felt fake or cheap.
Voice acting was well done too, I felt the voices fitted the characters and it felt pretty natural.
The opening and ending songs felt really cheesy...
BUT I warmed to the 1st ending quite a lot in the end because it was pretty catchy.
Characters--
The generation of miracle characters were all unique and had their own little special feature between personality and physical talents. So I felt like there was a good range between them, also everyone seems to have their own favourite character out of them 5 plus Kagami.
You get to learn about most of the major character's history to some extent so you can get some connection to them.
Also there is a good balance between the main characters (Kagami and Kuroko) and the other characters, so you aren't always so focused on them.
Which helps to keep the story fresh!

Overall, I think this anime was actually a surprise to me about how much I enjoyed it (considering how much I hate sport).
I'll be looking forward to season 2!

I'll be VERY honest.
This is probably the first anime that I've been blown away by.
It left be in a state of depression when I finished it because it was over...
So I had to rewatch it over and over again. Then afterwards I couldn't ever be content with an anime again without thinking "Wow... Mirai Nikki was so much better..."
I may be exaggerating, but it's my opinion. This anime was just my perfect cup of tea!
WARNING: I CANNOT GUARANTEE SPOILER FREE
(I'm sorry it's so hard not to give away the story when talking about this anime!)

Story
The story goes to tell you about what happens in this survival game and you get to meet all the people in the game. You get to know everyone pretty well and learn their past history (apart from 1 person, but he wasn't that important). So when you see how everything links together, it becomes a really exciting story.
Also there is a beautiful balance between how much is focused on the main characters and how much is focused on side characters.
It also has a nice balance of serious parts and the little drops of humour so it isn't so heavy on the story.
There are some err ecchi parts, so if you don't deal well with it, I recommend skipping it. It can easily be ignored if you want.
However, it isn't perfect.
There was one episode which had a MASSIVE section of two people having this game of hide and seek in a house. (I mean there was more to it, but it was just a boring chase scene) So I just skipped that part.
Also there were parts in this anime where I felt like it was just SO unneeded and rather pointless.
BUT. Then it helped to build up the next part and so on and so on.
The story is mainly a give and take game.
It provides you with so many thrills and then every now and again you have to give back a little patience and time and then you're rewarded with a thrill!
The ending left me speechless... I think that's all I got to say for that...

Art
Animation was very well done!
It was dynamic and story especially in the fight scenes.
Facial expressions were done really well, and it helped to show the strong emotions!
Designs were done well and I haven't a problem with any of the art.

Sound
Voice acting was really good in my opinion, though every now and again Yuki's voice did annoy me slightly that it sounded slightly too girly, but other than that I haven't a problem with it.
Sound effects were hit and miss. Mainly hit, but some of them sounded a little cheesy and cheap.
The 1st and 2nd opening and the 1st ending are really good in my opinion.
I really love them~! As for the 2nd ending, I wasn't such a fan...

Characters
People may complain that too many of them are psychopaths but I think that's the point of this story.
Personally I really liked them, and there was a nice balance of them all.
I like how I felt I had this love/hate relationship with Yuno, I thought that was really good.
I wished there was more of 10th in the anime though, when he appeared I thought he'd be the weird/funny/scary bad guy, but he didn't get that much in the story to do.

Overall I REALLY REALLY REALLY enjoyed this.
I hope you do too!
It's such a brilliant anime and it needs more recognition!

(WARNING. I CANNOT GUARANTEE THIS IS SPOILER FREE)
Okay first off let's talk about the story!
It's set in a near future where virtual reality gaming exists and when this new game "Sword Art Online" comes out, on it's debut the log out button has disappeared and people are trapped. The only way to get out is to clear all 100 levels of the game and beat the boss.
First impressions? I thought it sounded pretty cool! Virtual-reality gaming has always been a dream of mine, also the whole idea of being trapped in that game and then having to clear it sounded like an interesting idea.
However when
...
it gets down to detail (including the characters) it felt a little dull and the plot twists in the story seem a little predictable and there was nothing fresh to be seen once you settle into the flow of it.
But on the other hand, the pace of this anime was really good. It wasn't too rushed and it wasn't too dragged out.
Now moving onto the characters.
The main characters, Kirito and Asuna, both REALLY REALLY REALLY annoyed me. Mainly at the start and towards the end. Also they were very annoying in between.
I felt the story was TOO MUCH about them two. I mean yes. They are the main characters but there was no space to breathe because they were both being shoved down your throat.
Another character who annoyed me is Kirito's little sister and Leafa who appears in the 2nd half of the anime, but I guess this is because it's hard to except someone who wasn't there originally. I found them both terribly annoying and I couldn't warm to them.
Okay at one point I felt sorry for Leafa because of something. But even then I was thinking "Yeahhh.... Still don't like you."
However other characters were actually quiet likeable! (I'm pretty fond of Lizz and Klein).
It's actually a shame other characters aren't featured enough in this anime so I felt like they were a waste of good characters.
I felt this way especially for Klein! At the end of episode 1 it felt like Klein would play a MAJOR role in the anime. However he was only seen just every now and again not really doing anything but killing off some monsters with Kirito.
Same with other characters, there is this build up which makes you think you'll see them more, but no... Just no...
As for designs, I thought they were really good so there isn't anything to say here.
Now the art.
Animation was questionable at times...
Notice the first opening when Asuna is walking. It looks rather.... Weird.... Just... Weird... There are a few weird animating problems unfortunately.
I thought the art style was pretty good and it suited the story and the characters.
Now for sound!
1st Opening theme tune was really good! I've got it saved on my mp3, I thought it really fitted the anime well and it was well performed.
The end tunes and the 2nd opening didn't feel as special.
Voice acting was done really well in my opinion!
They sounded natural and none of the voices sounded awkward.
Overall it's a pretty good anime, but I'm not sure it's a "master piece".
There wasn't really anything that got me excited but I was happy enough to continue watching~!
