The show might appear strange and confusing for the sake of it at first and there is also unnecessary fan service but the story, characters and fights are interesting to watch and develop in each episode showing there is a lot more to see than the first impression.

In my opinion the story makes sense in the world they create. The strange things are not just there in vain, they have a purpose that is being revealed episode by episode. As the episodes come by you will see more of the characters and come to understand why they do what they do and how the ... things in this world works.

This is not a perfect series by any means but it´s entertaining to watch in terms of story, characters and powers. The animation and fights are above mediocre animes in my opinion.

So I would recommend that you watch it for yourself and see if you like it because as you can see this show has mixed reviews. The score it has is a reflection of the very high scores mixed in with the very low scores rather than a consensus on mediocre.

Besides the designs which are nice there is not much else going for it. The comedy is very lackluster and there is no story no progression or end goal. It's always the main character trying to kill her summoner so without really good comedy there is nothing else to back it up. Has some moments where you can get a laugh sometimes when the violence goes to the extreme in that way reminds me a bit to the first season of Dokuro-chan but that makes up for like 2% of the runtime on each episode and it's always a very similar build up that ... takes a long time for an kinda expected pay off. It could have worked as like a 2 min or 4 min short episode but the fact that is this long makes it a drag.

This show is you average school comedy romance series. The fact that the girl has the ability to read the minds is just used to make her the damsel in distress and make the protagonist the white knight. If you go in expecting something special you probably won't find it but if you like episodic school romance this could be for you.

Kotoura as a character is somewhat interesting but the other characters seem to be ripped of other anime or are cliches.

The forced drama that most complain off it's just anecdotal when you just see it as an other romance school anime. In some ... cases it's even funny how absurd it's but don't worry it all goes away in a few episodes.

The comedy is mediocre but ter are some cutesy moments that depending oh how real you feel the struggle the heroine is going trough are going to me more or less significant to you.

The series starts nicely with an interesting setting. The first episodes leave you wanting to know what happens next but you quickly realize that nothing happens next. All that happens on 99% of the episodes has no repercussion in the long run. It's resolved in the same episode or the next one and then a new problem appears and so on. Without a developing plot or something to care for it just doesn't add great entertainment value in my opinion. It's like the whole show is just watching fillers.

I skipped to episode 21 to see if they were going somewhere at the end but it ... was the same. A small problem that gets resolved quickly. I then skipped to the episode 24 - 25 to see, like all this kind of episodic anime tend to do, what was the BIG problem that would give an ending to the series but the problem even if it's bigger it's a predictable problem to present and in my opinion it forces a feel trip that because I didn't feel the characters real and didn't care for them it did nothing for me. It also tries to solve all the flaws of the characters at the end as well for example lets say someone was stubborn then bam it realizes is bad to be stubborn and they are now open to other people's opinions. So it feels fake and forced.

This anime has potential but the poor quality of the art, animation, voice acting and the bad pacing makes it not as enjoyable. It has potential but it still needs a lot of polishing. I could see people watching this but it's subpar when compared to other anime of the same style and it doesn't bring much new to the table.

The scenes were made by different people so you sometimes get really nice drawn art and sometimes you get something hideous. Besides that the constant change in art style is very distracting in my opinion.

For not being Japanese it really tries to copy the style ... of main stream Japanese animation and style of comedy but it falls short due to the incorrect timing and relatively bad voice acting.

Besides the art style the pacing is what bothers me the most it's hyper all the time and the lack of pauses where they should be makes one go crazy or lose attention and makes the delivery of some jokes that requires normal speed development with fast punchline, fail.

The is no good ambience or proper set up of the scenes due to the fact it's so hyper and that it lacks the ambient music to set the tone.

Character designs besides the main character are statically good but there is no char development which wouldn't be much of a problem on a comedy/parody anime except that it doesn't justify the unique design of some characters which lets you wondering why is this character dress in this way; why this character is x when they are all "y".

The series is enjoyable. It is not a masterpiece; it has flaws but those flaws does not make it non enjoyable. It's not trash like many reviews here claim it to be. Anyways check it out and see for yourself if like it.

The story is the best point of this series; it's entertaining and leaves you wanting to know whats it's going to happen next and how it's going to end and because of that it's worth watching. Things explained below that are somewhat lackluster is what doesn't make this a great anime but it's still an anime that I think it's worth watching ... if you want to experience an interesting story.

Character development is not the best but it's there when it needs to be. Is not deep enough to really feel with the character but in this case there is a guy on a mission and all that is related to that that needs to be explained is explained so you can understand why he is doing what he is and why other do to him what they do.

Some stuff might seem odd a bit at first but near the end information is reveled that make the important parts of the plot come together but don't worry is not all like that just some questions that make some stuff seem odd at first but then you understand why it was that way. There might be still things not explained if you go too deep but what really needs to be explained it's explained.

I don't see anything wrong with the art. The only thing that might bother you are the "order's" appearance that is made with 3dcgi which looks bad but compared with other 3dcgi it's ok.

Regarding this anime containing deus ex machina moments: Whatever happens happens in the laws of the fictional world what would be bad would be that the rules they created for the world would be broken by the characters for the convenience of the plot but that's not the case and it's not like some crazy out of the blue stuff happens here IMO. There are some things that are not known that are revealed as you go that save him on the first episodes and then there are ways to use his powers and other's powers that are different than the way they use them at first but it's like you have a spoon and you need to cut food you use the spoon differently to reach your goal. It's nothing that should be shamed as a flaw on any anime IMO.

The only thing that I felt that might come out too much out of the blue was the "fusion" thing but I don't think that it's something so unimaginable or impossible in that world. All the other stuff seems to fall into the rules the anime set for itself like all the fictional works do.

You want Ecchi? This is IT. This anime excels in creating arousing scenes without resorting to nudity. It's recommended if you want to see "unintentional" erotic over the top scenes. Anything this anime does is to show you ECCHI scenes. The plot that exist is enough to keep watching but is not a story, is more like a setting to put the characters in to justify their actions but the predicament they are on gets resolved so there is nothing that would spoil the fun of watching it if you are just here to enjoy the ecchi.

The high rating I'm giving this anime ... is because it's being judged as an anime whose core essence is to be ecchi and it excells at it without resorting to nakedness. Is not an anime that happens to have fanservice the fanservice is the anime. If you compare it against conventional anime it wouldnt be fair in my opinion because of course it does not have a deep plot and the characters are just stereotypes (more like fetishes like loli, megane etc) but that's like judging the characters/story/direction etc of a soft porn movie against a normal movie.
