This anime was one mentioned in the Trash taste podcast, and I'm so glad I found it, it's one of those hidden gem type of anime. One of the craziest psychological anime I've ever watched. This anime so effortlessly brings out so many emotions out of you, really loved it.


Plot: 10/10

The anime is about a few short stories and the first one is the most famous out of them all. It's called No Longer Human, and it was written by Osamu Dazai, and it was the last novel he ever wrote, he commented suicided with his lover while the book was being published. It's semi-autobiographical. ... It's basically a really depressed, suicidal man's life. The title is called "No Longer Human" because Dazai doesn't consider himself a human anymore and thinks he's unfit for society.

I've seen way too many stories like this, but this one felt unique coz it in others the author makes you feel like "suicide is wrong", "everything will be better", stuff like that you get the point. But in No Longer Human you really get to see the perspective of a truly depressed man, who's completely oblivious to what he's doing. That's why I liked it so much, but it's only the first short story, there's still more which are just as good if not better. In fact, I thought the 3rd one the best out of them all. Well either way all of them are perfect.

Btw the 4th story is my favorite, it's a cinematic masterpiece. Really made me cry at the end.


Sound and music: 8/10

Well it was done by mad house, and you already know they don't miss. But this time I wouldn't say it was incredible, but it was still excellent, and it did fit the anime's style.

The voice acting is excellent, couldn't ask for anything better.


Animation: 7/10

Well it isn't an action anime but did have some of it at the end, and it definitely looked smooth. No complaints here.


Characters: 10/10

Just too perfect, those were all short stories but even then it made me feel a lot attached to the characters, especially the 3rd one had some good characters. You can really learn s lot from these characters and I mean real life lessons unlike the ones from shonen anime.


Overall: 10/10

Definitely watch it, such a shame it's so underrated.

Ok this review might contain spoilers but to be honest there is no crazy plot twist to spoil.

I had some really high expectations but expect the animation none of it were met. This movie was extremely fast paced. I haven't read the manga but from what I hear the manga was apparently way different than the movie. It was not a good idea to fit all of it in just a 2 hours long movie. If in a move all you care about is animation then this is the greatest movie for you but I need more than a good animation to enjoy a movie ... and this one had none of it. And one more thing I wanna point out, the protagonist finds a gun like weapon and starts using it, how the heck can he use it that well with his first try while a group of professionals got instently killed. This is just ass pull at this point.


1. Story(5/10): It's shit that's all. So the the story takes place in 2019, after a world war 3 apparently and everything has gone to shit. Our protagonist is a member of a biker gang so not long after the movie begins they go and pick a fight with some clowns, enjoy this scene because that's the only scene you're gonna get which involves biker gangs. That's right the first thing we get is violence. And what do you think happens afterwords, it's violence. Yes the whole plot is violence, that's right the answer to everything is violence. People you have no attachment towards just keep dying one after another. That's it that's literally everything. In the second half of the movie one of our main character gains some psychic powers and starts fucking shit up, that's right even more violence. And I had no idea what the heck happened at the end, and obviously it's violence.


2. Art and animation(9/10): The animation is absolutely crazy it's time, this much I have to admit. That's the only reason I gave it 6/10, otherwise it would be more like 4/10. No complaints here.


3. Sounds (8/10): Once again good enough. The sound effects and music were really good as expected. But the voice acting wasn't anything special at all as it is with most old anime so no complaints here ether.


4. Character (5/10): And now for the characters, I had no attachment towards any of them. And they they had no value ether, even if all of them had died the outcome won't change. If the movie wasn't so fast paced then maybe they'd have some time for character development. So none of them were interesting.


5. Enjoyment (6/10): I was watching this movie half asleep, I did no care about anything that happened in it. How am I supposed to enjoy something that has only violence as plot. The only redeeming thing about the movie is the animation and sounds, that's it, that's the only reason I kept watching it.


6. Overall (6/10): It's not a good movie. Giving it even 6 is being generous. I have no idea why people keep praising this garbage.

Ok so when I first watched it, in my opinion was very good. Some weird things did stick out but that could be overlooked. Basically it's an isekai about a middle-aged man/loli. So in this anime God has a beef with the mc and sends him to another word filled with war. The first objective of the mc Tanya who is a little girl after being reincarnated is to survive as a mage in the battlefield. So she works her way up the ranks. And she just happens to be a great soldier and is always comes up with crazy war tactics which would usually ... be incomprehensible for a child which leaves everyone dumbfounded every time. Sounds like a pretty cool unique plot.

But now that I've read the source material or the LN my opinion has changed quite a bit. The personality Tanya is totally deferent in the anime. The anime did not do the source material justice at all. So if you want to enjoy "Tanya the evil" to the fullest then just read the light novel. The light novel explains the war tactics more reasonably which is not possible to fit the anime. And most of it is actually inspired by actual historical insidents. And her actions seem more reasonable in the LN too. So don't wait for the second season which will probably be out this year or the next.

Ok so I watched the first arc and it's garbage. The main character's personality is the worst. He basically hates the hokage, his father who's literally protecting the entire village including his as*. He has no originality to him. This man Boruto takes talk no jutsu to a whole another level. So according to him if he had to choose between a certain someone who could attack the village and the village he'd save them both. How many times have we seen that ? Even Naruto said he'd die alongside Sasuke if he tried to attack the village. There's no way the mangaka thought he ... would be likable character.
And it also has that shonen anime logic idiot = cool, totally original never happened before. And the other characters are just nothing and barely have any character development. It feels like slice of life then a shonen. The only good things here would be that it doesn't have any annoying flashbacks and recaps. The animation is good but it's being wasted on Boruto. The 1st opening is trash. The only reason I started watching it was because of Naruto.
