Preliminary (4/13 eps)
This season is just a huge disappointment. The art style isn't even the biggest reason for this review. It's the simple lack of direction for this season. The production budget for this season must've taken a massive hit because the music, acting, and art style are all downgrades from the first season. The opening theme song was so boring and lacked any soul. Then the first episode just throws us into this new setting with all new characters we don't know anything about yet Wangnan is spouting off some nonsense in episode 4 about all the wonderful times these characters have spent together when nothing ...

Dragon Ball Super isn't as good as Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z. That said, it does a lot right and does a lot wrong. The biggest positive from Super is expanding on the backstories or characters to expand the world of Universe 7. That being said, the storytelling was such wasted potential. For example, revisiting Future Trunks. That was so unnecessary. That timeline was finished so perfectly in DBZ and it didn't need further storytelling. What I would've loved to have seen was the creators starting Dragon Ball Super at episode 77 which would take place right after the Battle of the Gods and ...

This season started off very slow, but it picked up later on after episode 8. Honestly, this season isn't as good as the first season. The plot skips ahead in time and we see the descendents of Hayase continue to try and win over Fushi. It's interesting to see descendants in anime because it's a theme that's generally not explored too often since most shows don't have an immortal protagonist.

Now, I want to share the one thing I didn't care too much for from this season and show in general and that's: Fushi's ability to bring the dead back to life as many times as ...

Honestly, this has been a disappointment. The opening and ending theme songs are amazing, but that's about it. The plot is rushed due to the 12 episode format. The first 2 episodes were great, but it slowly introduced more and more characters that the viewer couldn't care less about since none of them have any backstory besides a generic 30 second telling about a generic traumatic thing that happened in their childhood. Even the main character is just a one-dimensional shounen protagonist with little to offer in terms of relatability outside of his age which is close to my own age. It's basically just a ...

Solo Leveling is basically a typical shounen anime with a isekai twist. The pacing is super fast, the plot is all over the place, and the characters are one-dimensionally designed and dull. The animation is acceptable, but not as great as it should've been. Another issue for me personally is the opening theme song really didn't do it for me. It didn't hype me before watching an episode and felt like a bad mid-2000's anime opening. The worst part, however, is the main character. He is just the typical, boring, overpowered character with the same protagonist mentality that is common with shounen anime.

If Solo Leveling ...

Boruto, like in it's first episode, is a train wreck. The filler is glaring, the storytelling is awful, and the potential is completely wasted on people we couldn't care less about. Most anime don't get a budget to produce as many episodes as Boruto has, and yet they fail on almost every single frontier except tapping into our nostalgia. One example is during a filler arc where Sasuke, a God-level shinobi in Naruto Shippuden, fires off a single fireball jutsu and immediately passes out on the floor. That basically sums up the rest of my review on Boruto and that is that it's just a ...

Goblin Slayer season 2 didn't do anything to advance the plot in any meaningful way. We waited years to see this second season only to get the same format. A bunch of filler episodes of them killing goblins. Is that so bad? No, but the story isn't going anywhere and the final episode used the same format as the first seasons final episode...they tease a bigger plot that you're simply not invested in. Sure, the characters have great designs and the animation is good enough, but we seemingly will never get backstories on our protagonists. I can't relate to and invest in any character in ...

Attack on Titan is yet another example of why you should never dedicate your time to any show for a long period of time. I remember back in 2013 when this released and I was captivated by this mysterious world full of titans. To make a long story short, I'm left disappointed. I've seen this type of ending in plenty of other anime. Additionally, there are just a lot of plotholes like "How did Ymir let titans under her control fight against her?" and "Why did Eren even bother when at the very end of the last scene possibly thousands of years in the future ...

Dragon Ball (Anime) add
I've been watching the Dragon Ball franchise since it aired in the United States growing up in the 90's and 00's era of Saturday morning cartoons and we didn't even know or use the term "anime" back then. Shows like Dragon Ball Z, Gundam, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Pokemon are what many 90's kids consider to be what got them into anime! So, with that said, is Dragon Ball a masterpiece? Yes...yes it is. The adventure, the pacing, the characters. Everything about anime today should take lessons on Dragon Ball because it's what defined a generation and everything thats good about storytelling can be found in the ...

Preliminary (4/12 eps)
This show has devolved into just countless side characters fighting each other with minimal backstories on all of them. This show in general focuses more on side characters than the main characters and for that reason I can no longer continue with this story. Ohma Tokita and Kazuo Yamashita are nowhere to be found for the first four episodes of this new season and with how little both of their personalities are the creator has to rely on side characters nobody cares about to keep the viewer interested and for me it's just not worth watching if the main characters continue to just be put ...
