...then you might like Magic Knight Rayearth II add

The atmosphere I find quite similar, darker with lots of drama and spacecraft battles and epic instrumental music. Thematically they're bit different (not as much as you'd think though), but MKR II also has depth despite being shoujo. Watching it requires watching the first season though, which is rather generic shoujo/magic adventure and can be repelling to some.

Both are dark psychological series with well-developed complex characters and twisting plot.

If you liked Digimon Tamers add

...then you might like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann add

Both venture to the far limits of theoretical physics and utilize its weird phenomena combatively in the epic final battles. Both have "eco-fascist" main villains who have calculated that there are too many humans, and calmly launch plans to reduce their numbers.

If you liked Memories add

...then you might like Twilight Q add

Both consist of totally different and unrelated little stories - so different in fact that I'd doubt there are many people who like all equally (I personally like the 3rd part of Memories and the 2nd part of Twilight Q notably more than the others).
