This is the story of a highschool girl who wants to join a band and become popular. (also so that she doesn't need to go to school anymore lol)

The story never gets boring, and is very unique in my opinion. While watching if you think "oh so we're doing the cliche power of friendship always wins type of thing" even for a second the anime will prove you mistaken. Because as much as Hitori-chan loves her friends she's also a person with social anxiety. You will never be able to guess what she will do until the moment she does it, which is very fun ... in my opinion.

As for the characters, everyone has so much personality;

-Ryo is usually quiet, but when it comes to something about music, she's a walking encyclopedia.(she's also filthy rich but also somehow the most broke)
-Kita-chan is the popular cute girl loved by everyone around.
-Ijichi is your average girl with dreams of becoming one of the most popular and richest bands in the world to help her big sister.
-And our precious Hitori-chan (Bocchi the Rock!) is a shy girl with social anxiety who wants to become the member of a band and to "shine her brightest" one day. (though sometimes she does really cringe stuff that I quit watching right then and there for the day)

The art style is the perfect choice for this type of anime. You can easily tell who's thinking what and the characters just look so great that I couldn't take my eyes off the screen sometimes.

This unique story combined with great characters and the pure gold comedy with tons of references as the cherry on top makes this anime one of the greatest comedy/slice of life animes ever, at least for me. I don't remember the last time I laughed this hard. The yamcha death pose reference will always stay in my mind as one of the funniest moments ever lol.
