This was my gateway into the world of non-mainstream america entertainment. I inherited vol 2-5 from my older cousin who I don't think actually read it. I got it when i was like 10 years old and saw the mature rating and didn't read it, but when I was 11 I decided to give it a try. I started reading at about 8pm and didn't stop until I finished at 4am. This may not be the greatest of all time, but it is definitely unique.
I am a big an of character switch gender roles, or breaking from the normal gender associated actions, and this
...
definitely started that for me. I had re-read this so many times, and it continues to be one of my favorite.
The big change in story line and main characters after the first novel, makes it all the more unique, and Young-Yoo Lee all the better a writer, simply because she saw an idea that would make more of an impact and ran with it.
I understand that many were looking for a continuation of the first volume with the second, but without that change, Young-Yoo may not have had the passion, ideas and plot twist with the expanded universe. Also, there is a good chance it would have just faded into the background as another of its kind, not making any waves.
Being 19 now and still loving this, its definitely one that deserves more credit
