Truly one of the most poignant, beautiful anime I have ever watched. I saw Violet Evergarden on Netflix and gave it a shot, only knowing that it was widely praised for its gorgeous animation. Underneath that is also a beautiful story about a girl learning the meaning of love and the emotional, powerful moments as she changes the lives of those she meets. Black Clover has become one of my favorite manga from Weekly Shonen Jump. The fast pacing of the story makes the chapters great to read from week to week without feeling bogged down from slow pacing. The story itself is solid with a large cast of characters that get their moments of character development without feeling left out, countless references to European mythology, and a great MC in Asta and fantastic heroine in Noelle Silva. Black Clover has become one of my favorite series. I will admit, the beginning is rocky and the animation can be inconsistent.
However, the story itself is written well - great foreshadowing and well thought-out plot, lovable characters, and a solid female cast (a rarity in battle shonen). The teamwork-based battles allow for its large cast to remain relevant while adding a layer of complexity to fights, the important fight scenes are well-done, and there is plenty of comedy that makes Black Clover a very enjoyable watch.
