Colette Decides to Die is a very cute manga series with a slightly misleading title. The title may make you think this story could be on the darker side, but in reality it is incredibly cute, wholesome, and rather calm in terms of plot. It almost feels like a sweet slice of life, following the daily adventures of the young heroine and many other characters.

It starts out showcasing the life of a young apothecary named Colette, who also happens to be one of the few available in her village. Exhausted from the never ending demands of work, she decides to, well, you know—and does so ...

There is plenty to like about this lovely adult romance with a cute tea theme! It starts with a bit of a contract relationship trope, as the two main characters each find a benefit in sticking together. However, the difference in their attitudes often puts them at odds with one other! Readers who enjoy slow burn romances and mangas that explore other subtopics (in this case, tea) may really enjoy Matcha Made in Heaven.

I think that the one thing I really enjoyed about this series is the maturity level, as the characters are often seen being more honest about things they thought previously differently about. ...

Plot:
Despite how this shoujo series may appear at first glance, the plot is not a soft and simple romance. This underrated series skillfully portrays very deep and emotional topics of toxic, reliant relationships and other youthful struggles. While the manga does mix in these topics among recognizable shoujo elements and occasional fluffy interactions, these characters must first overcome emotional obstacles before they can achieve a true happiness.

If you're looking for a shoujo with depth, and are okay with getting your heart broken a little bit, then you will really enjoy this manga! I personally was very touched by the very realistic and heartfelt topics found ...

Preliminary (48/? chp)
Ui x Kon is a cute series with a very youthful slow burn romance and an interesting premise. The main heroine, Ui, enrolls in a unique high school that assigns two students per dorm room, with the intention of a potential marriage once they graduate. These couples will compete for the "best couple" title and a chance to take over the company.

Ui simply wants to find someone to grow close with, after being left alone by the loss of her parents. However, she is paired up with a boy named Kon, who doesn't care for the marriage—only the money involved with taking over the ...

Kimi ni Todoke: Soulmate was a much needed spinoff for readers who appreciated Kurumi's character in the original Kimi ni Todoke series! She's always been a character I enjoyed from the original series because she was such an interesting and well-written "villain." After seeing how her relationship with Sawako developed in the original Kimi ni Todoke series, I had always wished to see more of her—and the author granted that wish!

In this series, Kurumi finally gets her own love story, but not without some challenges. She must overcome her fears of being disliked for her personality, as well as learn to accept and forgive ...

This is a great shoujo manga for readers who love super cute, blushy, and shy characters. The love interest in this story is a total sweetheart who is surprisingly clingy, needy, and easily embarrassed. I feel like I don't see many male love interests in shoujo with this personality type, so it was pretty fun to see.

Although the first chapter was a bit strange to me, I pulled through and overall it was worth it. The romance is so fluffy and cute, and I liked the male lead more than I thought I would. The female lead isn't bad, but she is just a ...

Choking on Love is the definition of exciting romance. It is a young adult love story following two creatives as they work their way through university. The romance is whimsical and spontaneous—and a bit cheesy (which I really loved). If you like clichés, you'll love this manga.

Hibari (FL) is a refreshing heroine who is a bit hard-headed, yet determined. Gaku, on the other hand is a more smooth, easy-going guy who can still be sincere when it counts. These characters are both rather eccentric, and open up each other's worlds to new views and ideas. Because of their personalities, the romance happens quickly, so there ...

As someone who really enjoyed Ao Haru Ride and Strobe Edge, I was so excited for another shoujo by Io Sakisaka. This manga definitely met expectations, with the usual fluffy, sparkly vibe and adorable romance. Sakisaka is truly talented at writing stories that appreciate even the smallest moments in life, and I think that is what draws me to her works.

For the characters, I loved the earnest FL and the kind ML. I even liked the way the side characters are written. All of the characters feel very genuine, even if we don't get much more depth to their personalities. There are some very cute ...

Chorokute Kawaii Kimi ga Suki is yet another fluffy story for shoujo lovers to enjoy!

To describe it quickly, this manga is incredibly cute. The romance is very sweet and wholesome, even though at first you may feel like it is superficial. Things happen fast, but the romance still builds rather naturally. It's very cute, and the characters have very likable personalities.

Nana is a naive girl, and she acknowledges this about herself. It becomes a bit of a running gag, but not in an annoying way or anything. It's actually very endearing, and I love the ML's thoughts on it. He is a really ...

She's My Knight is a very cute and lighthearted parody story that swaps the "roles" that are traditionally found in shoujo manga (the heroine needing rescuing, and the hero that rescues). It is an incredibly fun and sweet read that'll have you laughing and smiling throughout! I really loved the humor in this manga that lightly pokes fun at silly, well-known shoujo tropes. The characters were also incredibly fun, featuring a tsundere boy and a cute yet dependable girl.

There isn't really a main plot, as the manga is a bit episodic in showing how the main characters meet and become closer, but it was ...
