Edit:
after catching up to the latest chapter, chapter 192, “my first sin was starting to read this shit”.
Seriously, don’t bother with this shit, save yourself some time. Start reading Maria no Danzai which is basically an improved version of this.
This thing is a big pile of poo poo, it started fantastic but oh man, towards the end, it turns into something so stinky that it’s hard not to laugh at it. Really, this is the definition of ‘it’s so bad that it’s good’, just reading the Reddit comments after each chapter is funny af after chapter 170. The author is so stupid and unoriginal that
...
it’s ludicrous at this point, that’s why the mc just turns dense as hell. I think it’s really just all about the money at this point. Don’t bother with this shit, I don’t think this will ever get an anime adaption or if it does, only the first half then.
Tho, I’m still gonna finish it since it’s probably nearing its end, see you later!✌️
The first part is a spoiler free to give you an overall idea about this manga. This is based on 115 chapters.
So far this has been one of the most grotesque and gory mangas I’ve ever read.
Overall I like the manga but I see why the rating is relatively low and some things so piss me off in it.
So we have a 11 year old students who gets bullied left and right but not in a common way. He almost dies multiple times and he doesn’t talk about it at all to protect his 6 year old brother’s happiness(?). Weird af, but aight.
Eventually he tells the parents and they make him change school but he couldn’t escape the bullies and then bad stuff happens to him (very bad, his life is ruined) so he swears vengeance at the bullies.
We skip 4 year and now he’s a 1st year high schooler, so far so good. We have a good base.
Now the problems arise here:
1. The situation itself and some of the scenes are unbelievable. I think this manga is either set in the late 90s or early 2000s. How can some students get away with graping the other female students inside the school or behind the school or in the toilet or literally anywhere. Not just that but beating some students to pulp at judo practice or whatever, crushing their bones and joints. How do adults not get involved at all?
2. Some side characters are unrealistically hopeful and stupid. When day get offed you won’t even feel sorry for them they’re so stupid.
3. I feel like the manga depicts the grandpa as a good person who was part of the basically Japanese Gestapo during ww2 so he killed hundreds or thousands of innocent and maybe not so innocent people. And obviously he didn’t get condemned or anything. I didn’t have a problem with this but some people may not like this aspect.
4. There are some weird forced love interest substories which don’t really add anything to the manga, but perhaps help make the bullies look even worse. Cause there are unnecessarily lot of grape scenes. Way too many.
There was one specific occasion where the guy locked up 5 chicks ( by that I mean in a room together all of them without any guard or anything) and was graping 1 of them and the other 4 were just watching instead of ganging up and beat the shit out of him. Like the guy is scrawny as hell and is armless, 5 chicks can easily bit him, especially while he’s busy graping one of them.
5. There were numerous opportunities where the MC could’ve killed the main antagonist but he didn’t (who knows why, yeah, bad writing) and some of the deaths could’ve easily been prevented.
There are some positives though.
1. It’s a great revenge story, the base and the incentive are one of the best.
2. The art if very good.
3. Despite its faults the manga does not feel boring at all. I binged the first 110 chapters.
4. There’s no censorship in the most part.
5. Overall, I’d say it’s unique and there actually are some copies of this such as Maria no Danzai, etc.
All in all, I reckon if you like gore, revenge stories, are not afraid of grape scenes (really so many, you’ll probably just get used it them) and can overlook some plot holes you’ll enjoy this. It’s not a masterpiece but it’s one of a kind.
