I tried to enjoy and invest myself in the world of painful mediocrity, but I lost interest and ended up shitting on the anime in retrospect and will continue to do so in this review. Now, my reviews are shit due to my superficial watching style, so if you find it helpful, then you'll probably like Sekirei; anyhow onto reviewing.
This anime is painfully mediocre and I mean painfully; although I watched seven (or six) episodes, I couldn't discover anything interesting or enjoying about this anime. My main issues are as follows: the protagonist sucks dick, the plot/story isn't compelling in the slightest, it's not comedic,
...
it fails at harem and it's presentation is mediocre. Firstly, the I hate the protagonist; he's so boring, bland, uninteresting, and a pussy; he's literally the embodiment of a shut in loser and I mean loser, and what's irritating is that he stays this way throughout the majority of the series. He offers absolutely nothing, he's unrelatable because he's just so worthless, and it just adds to the nonsense that is the showcase of the harem aspect of this show.
Now, throughout the series, I attempted to piece together some kind of story or idea of what was going on and what the anime was about, but all that I could put together was that apparently these Sekirei things exist and are apart of some cliche evil battle royale scheme by some cliche evil scientist dude. This wouldn't be an issue if the show was executed well, but it's not; the presentation of the show is just uninteresting, bland, and completely meaningless thus leading to a boring plot.
The harem part is especially meaningless; I understand that harems are kind of supposed to be dumb and whatnot, but the harem in this show is literally just flat out fucking stupid I mean my braindead dog can take a shit that's more unique and reasonable. The Sekirei bitches (besides the child) flock toward the protagonist for literally no reason, and his first harem person thing is a great example of that; LITERALLY, FOR NO REASON, she just like falls in love with him and views him as this great man meanwhile he's nothing but an empty loser. The rest of the Sekireis he gets are just as dumb to I mean there's literally nothing to love about this guy and the girls have no reasonable motivation to love him. I can get profoundly fucking baked off a nice sativa Mad Labs and come up with better material. It's not even funny either it's just flat out stupid and not in a good way. I couldn't even enjoy the whole sexual shit either as it was just so stupid it was completely meaningless.
The characters are one-dimensional and add to the mediocrity; they're not good but they're not bad and add to the destruction of the harem in this anime.
Overall, I tried to enjoy this show; I tried looking for a single reason to watch it, but none were present. The anime is completely devoid of all meaning, it's not funny at all, it's way too braindead, it's boring, it's mediocre, etc. I definitely wouldn't recommend this show at all as it's a disgrace of a harem anime and painfully mediocre.

I'm quite the superficial watcher, so my review is essentially derived from an experience that centered around my enjoyment rather than the anime in an objective sense.
I'll say that I enjoyed the show, and, especially after the first half of the season, anticipated watching more of it. This opinion I think is unpopular as from the reviews I read, it seems that people thought the first half was substantially better than the second, however I thought the latter; the first half was very mediocre as it was basically uninteresting. Honestly, I don't even remember what really happened except for Shou getting involved with funeral
...
parlor and then Gai dying (I think); I thought it was fine as I liked the idea of funeral parlor and I liked the bluntness of the show. For instance, in the episode where Shou uses Inori's void to take down the original general dude of the GHQ, there were innocent people being taken hostage, and the one mother, who had a child with her, was mercilessly abused and shot which caught me off guard as I was shocked at how blunt and unforgiving it was. This aspect added to my enjoyment of the show. Anyhow, after the first part came the second, and I did not expect the show to become more interesting superficially; I liked that the show basked in action, and it's what saved the show from being dropped by me. This reaction is an obvious one as everyone loves action shit, and that's what this show definitely does best. Also, the setting became way more interesting which also had me invested.
Overall, would I recommend the show? Only to people that watch shows very superficially and are oblivious; as I read from another review, in order to like this show, you basically have to be braindead and just watch it superficially; I honestly had no idea what was going on at any point, and I especially had absolutely zero fucking knowledge of the logic regarding any of the concepts (such as voids, apocalypse virus shit, etc). Even with my superficial watching style, with good shows, I can at least grasp what's going on and the logic of the concepts within, however, with Guilty Crown, I never could understand jack shit, and it's honestly hilarious in retrospect; and my experience with other shows was substantially better as I was able to be gratified emotionally and mentally, and was able to retain a lot more. With shows like Re:Zero or Overlord, I can intellectually discuss things regarding the characters, story, etc., but with this show, it's impossible and quite frankly ridiculous to even start a discussion, and for me, that qualifies it to be unworthy and insignificant as it showcases how lackluster it is. In the end, I think the show could be watched for it action and appearance as it is enjoyable nonetheless, however beyond that and you're being delusional. I won't demonize the show because of its lack of substance as the goal of entertainment is to entertain which it succeeds at mediocrely; the show's only purpose is to entertain and that's it. I think its existence is fine and plausible as it's something that is salvaged by its entertainment, however I definitely don't condone the subpar quality of it, and I think the show should be viewed that way. Ultimately, the show isn't dogshit, nor is it good; it's just empty and super fucking overly convoluted. Watching this is similar to watching a porn video: random ass plot with good main characters and a good appearance; obviously you ignore the plot and just sit there for the action and so you enjoy it. And thus I've just compared the viewing experience of Guilty Crown to the viewing experience of pornography; goes to show how pathetic this show can be, yet much like porn, it can be enjoyed.
