Whew, well now that was longer than I expected it to be. I hope you don't mind about such amounts of text XD

Now that I think of it, indeed, you've been here all along. I may be at fault for leaving this place abandoned.

Ah, yes, I had to take two programming courses in my past semesters, I learned some pseudocode and basic C++ programming in the first one, it was mainly focused on algorithm implementation. In the second course I changed professors and had to use Java as my programming language, and it was more data structure/database oriented and I got to learn more about classes and objects. I vaguely remember learning a bit of SQL but I didn't really like it so that knowledge is probably in my brain's recycle bin by now. Oh and there was a final project in that course, in which my team decided to make some sort of website by mixing SQL and HTML. I was the guy in charge of the HTML part (call me a masochist but I dig that), so I also learned stuff about both HTML and CSS. That got me really interested in responsive design, but I kinda sucked at it because I pretty much learned all about CSS and its magic properties by myself XD
I really enjoyed those two courses, the second one was quite relieving to me because I was getting futtbucked by my Financial Mathematics course at that time.

Linear Algebra is everywhere man, everything is stained with linear algebra. I took a first course on linear algebra the semester before the one that just finished, I did quite good. I remember telling you on Steam that I'm quite good at algebra in general, but hey don't trust me on this one, even though I have a decent memory I tend to mix up things inside my head. Dude hessian matrices give me nightmares to this day, I barely remember the properties of maximums and minimums given by it, I'm pretty sure that it had to do with the quadratic form given by the hessian matrix and checking if it was definite. I don't know man, those were dark times. Yeah, in fact the calculus course that made me suffer the most was Calculus III, which includes stuff about open/closed sets, compactness, connectedness... and some other notions to characterize continuity in R^n and go forwards to directional derivatives and, of course, partial derivatives; culminating in very dirty stuff like Lagrange Multipliers. Man, that course still gives me nightmares, I still don't know how I passed it.
Don't worry though, integrals with 2+ variables are quite easy, the only problems may come when the boundaries of the integrals are functions and you have to do the integration in a certain specific order so that it can be solved and gives you a numerical solution. You'll do alright, it's pretty intuitive. The only parts of multivariate integration that gave me cancer are the Green/Gauss/Stokes theorems, those are useful and help you deal with two particular types of integrals, but there are very, very, very dirty things involved in them, resulting in them seeming quite tricky and bullshit. But, even then there's beauty to those three theorems, and it has to do with the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. I hope you get to see that, and if you don't you can always come back to me and ask me what the fuck I was talking about, because by now I'm pretty sure you sense bullshit.
What a coincidence, by the way, I'm also taking my first course in mathematical analysis next semester! I can already smell the blood that will be shed during that course. I bet Lebesgue, or at least Riemann and Stieltjes, are already waiting for both me and my classmates to slaughter us with different kinds of sabres and machetes.

I do remember you telling me about your mathematics for teaching course, it sounded quite cool to me. I don't think I ever asked this to you (and if I did, then my brain is getting worse at recalling things), but what level of teaching is that course oriented to? As in, is it focused on a certain specific level of teaching or does it cover enough for you to go ahead and teach anywhere you feel up to? Maybe I'm getting the wrong idea of the course, but hey, it sounds as something that is kinda needed. Maybe I'm leaning too much towards the "teacher capacitation" side of teaching, since that's something I think my university (and overall my whole country) needs, specially when it comes to math teaching.
I can't talk much about statistics right now, since I'll be taking my first course on statistics next semester, but there seem to be many fun things to deal with there. Chi-squared tests, Student's T tests, F tests, that sounds exactly like the kind of shit I've been looking for. Although I would like to go for the pure mathematics bachelor as well, there are many areas (like Topology and Set Theory) that look quite interesting, and sound like a lot of fun as well. I may slip myself into a Topology I class next semester, mainly to learn about something I may never get the chance to actually study properly; since I'm too lazy to do it by myself. If I end up doing it, I'll tell you how that goes.
Linear Algebra II... Mmmm well what can I say? There's a course of "Linear Algebra II" in my uni as well, and you find physics and mathematics students in there, since it's a required subjects for both careers. I don't know whether to tell you to worry or to tell you not to, because I'm unsure about the topics you'll study in there. Maybe you'll see some stuff about operators, functionals, dual spaces and shit that I know little to nothing about and have just heard of. I think those topics were the ones that gave one of my mathematician friends nightmares last semester. That and homological algebra, which was one of the "extra" topics his professor gave him right before the semester ended. Maybe you'll struggle but I think you'll come out just fine, I mean if this friend of mine could, I'm pretty sure you'll do just fine.
Hey, and do you get at least some of the credits of your current course validated on the new one? Or do you have to start all over again? Because here, if I were to change from actuarial science to mathematics, I'm pretty sure I'd keep the credits of the basic subjects such as the holy trinity (Calculus-Algebra-Geometry); but the actuarial-only subjects would be rendered useless.
I may go for a master's degree in statistics or probability, depending on how my statistics courses go. If I'm not massacred by mathematical analysis, that is.

I hope you don't mind if I ask, but what kind of program were you making? Did you become an expert in functional programming in my absence? Anyway, it's always nice to have free time to waste in games. I spent a lot of time playing Age of Empires II HD on my last vacations, I still remember that you gifted me that game long ago, I really made use of it. And just recently I got into Platinum in LoL, it's a damn shame that the new ranked queue is prone to abuse and makes my achievement look less cool. I did it before it was easy! I haven't watched any Game of Thrones in my life, so I won't be able of spoiling anything for you. By the way, would you recommend it to me? I'm pretty sure I've got the first season somewhere in my house.
For now, I'll follow your suggestion and watch Top wo Nerae!, I can take 6 episodes of pretty much anything with ease. I mean, I didn't sleep once because of Eureka Seven, I can do 6 episodes of anything without a problem. I really like Evangelion and everything related to it, but I've kept myself far away from the fandom; now that you told me that I think I'll stay that way. As for recommendations, well I like adventure stuff, but mystery stuff also satisfies my needs. I enjoyed Steins;Gate a lot, for example; and I enjoyed almost all of Erased, with the exception of the parts near the ending, I found them rushed and not as engaging as the rest of the series.

Let's hope JhonThrash is fine, he's a cool bro. I still have my Last.fm going, but the new interface just keeps me away from taking them seriously anymore, I just use it as a registry of what good things I've listened to recently, and to search related/similar artists and things like that, you know I love exploring. I've been getting into more progressive metal lately, it's funny that you mentioned "prog or metal" 'cause lately I've been digging deeper and deeper into prog metal XD

Hey man, I just recently started to get into moar animu (thanks to a guy from college who recommended Evangelion to me) and got my ass back to this website.

In this long time of silence I've gotten sick, then cured; been beaten to death by vectorial calculus exams, brought back to life by rituals with black metal imagery all around... I'm not exactly sure about that last one, but stuff has happened. Makes me wonder why I'm still bored to death, heh.

Thanks to summer vacation and the loads of free time that it brings to me, I can now properly use my brain to think calmly and peacefully. And since I got back in here, I couldn't help but think of you, my friend. And how you've been doing, and all that stuff that comes afterwards; maybe you've already got a master's degree by now and I haven't been notified! Coming here also made me wonder how good old JhonThrash (also known as good old HellFireOfLain) is doing, it's been even longer (probably eons) since I last heard of him.

Whoa, your exam is surprisingly long, mine wasn't that long for instance. I only had to pass a general knowledge exam, that's it. But hey, you're a pretty logical individual yourself, I bet you'll be better at that in no time.

Pain in the ass is also the way those properties are just very easily demonstrated but extremely annoying. Plain annoying, that's it. At least algebra and calculus have lots of thought involved in the process.
Oh, but hey, I didn't exactly apply for maths. It was my second option, though. I actually applied for Actuarial science, which has seen some rise in popularity lately. I'm pissed off at that, though, because half the idiots who think it's a "kewl h1p" career are just riding the bandwagon. The application of statistical and probabilistic methods in any field is pretty much like the holy grail to me. The rest of my generation, they seem more interested on being stockbrokers, completely twisting the meaning of what an actuary is. That is, my friend, why the number of appliants is rather high.

Hey there man, been a little bit ill and such lately.
Getting into the public university here is pretty much the same, and even though my career had lots of applicants, I managed to get enough right answers in the admission exam.
To me, geometry questions are hard because I dislike geometry. I prefer algebra and calculus, especially algebra. And the admission exam is a general knowledge exam, really, so even then, questions about specific matters aren't really complicated at all.
And yes, I'm currently studying my second semester here, second week so far =D

Man, way to go! But hey, shouldn't you be touching some subjects of differential equations and such in the midst of that mathematics slaughterhouse? At least the mathematics career here has a lot of that, ranging from stuff like that to even complex analysis! Maybe I'm considering a wrong approach, but who knows? Anyway, I'd really like to hear more about those incoming studies of yours man! Feel free to tell me about that whenever you have some time to spare.

I just watched it as well and damn, it was really good or at least I liked it a lot. My only complaint is that it didn't have a conclusive ending, it was just like "Yeah, I locked you in this false world but sooner or later you will find out and everything will turn into shit again, but it doesn't matter, I can smell your pantsu everyday since I rule this world, lel" I just wanted the cycle to end, Homu dies, end of the story, but we will never find out how it ends (I mean, like the very very END). For the rest it was a pleasant movie.

This is one main problem with older anime. It has to many episodes, you have few to not sites to download it and if you find something it's hard to download it because your connection sucks (I tried to get a faster connection, but it seems the line is oversaturate and I can't get one. Things in this country sucks), and thank god I can read English in some extent because ifs not I would have been doomed since you can't find good quality stuff in spanish (there are some exceptions, of course).

I have shitons of stuff to do since I started university again (God knows for how long) and I haven't seen too much stuff lately, but I will watch all the stuff I have on hold (not in the list, hah).

I got some news for your, BOR. The new YrYr Project is just an OVA and it's not by Dokagobo, it's by the same studio that did Tamayura S2, so that's it, maybe depending on the sales we could get a third season, but who knows. I can live with the manga, I love how Namori developed her art style.

Non Non Biyori was a fucking solid SOL. Excellent characters, lovely setting (different from the "school" setting most SOLs have lately) and lots of fantastic healing and scenery porn. Maybe the fact that I lived in some village at the mountains has to do with the fact I loved NNB.

Hyouka is has been pretty solid so far. I can understand your point about the protag but I'm somewhat related to him (I do things in the most easy and quick way without wasting more energy than necessary) but he can be a little bit dickish at times. Also, the visuals are wonderful, that's a strong point in KyoAni, if only the could get good writers with ideas.

By the way, did you watch the new Madoka movie? I'm downloading a BD rip with the subs but due to my shitty internet is taking forever, but it doesn't matter, I want to watch it in glorious BD quality, although I know the whole story already. The ending of the original series was a lot better in my opinion.

I already listented "Melana Chasmata" (I couldn't help it) and yeah, I can guarantee you more awesomess from the almighty Warrior™. Things like "Tree of Suffocating Souls", "Aurarae", "Breathing" and "Demon Pact" (that atmosphere kills) are excellent, still "Goetia" is my favourite song by Triptykon. You won't be disappointed by it.

Holy shit, I tried to watch Petabor, the most reasonable result I found was a 5 GB torrent. Do I need to watch the original series or can I jump to the OVAs?
