This review is an objective summary of all the good things and all the things that are bad about the series. If you ask me One Piece is not as good as the fans say, nor as bad as the haters say it is.
A) A quick guide if One Piece is for you
Given the size of the manga many wonder if the journey is for them or not. In the long bus-ride that is One Piece, Arlong Park is probably the first big stop. (chapter 95 or volume 11)
1) If you finished Arlong Park, and you enjoyed the manga up to the arc than
...
One Piece is probably for you
2) If you finished Arlong Park, but didn't really like the manga up to this point, or you're wondering if the series can offer more than this, than One Piece is probably not for you
B) Everything good about One Piece
1) Seemingly endless adventure
2) Great artwork (after a while)
3) Well put together and well executed emotional beats
4) Nice fight choreography
5) Hidden answers and plot points to keep you guessing
6) Unique character designs and locations
7) Memorable villains (only after chapter 700)
8) Likeable cast of characters
9) Interesting overarching mysteries
10) Great ideas hidden all over the story
C) Everything wrong about One Piece
1) A whole lot of missed potential
2) Seemingly large, yet empty and uninteresting world building
3) Two-dimensional, surface level characters
4) Incoherent character writing
5) Cheap and repetitive backstories to "sell" characters
6) Childish and repetitive jokes
7) No memorable antagonist before chapter 700
8) Very bad use of coincidences
9) Oversaturated cast, with a lot of neglected characters
10) A whole lot of ass-pulls
11) Under-utilised ideas
12) Surface level politics
13) Underwhelming reveals/conclusions
14) Inconsistent tonal changes
15) Can't obey the first rule of storytelling - Show, don't tell

Why is everyone so hyped about this manga? What's so special about it? Should I read it?
Short answer: Yes definitely give this manga a chance, I think you won't regret it
Why: Because it's different, it's different but in a good way. It does certain things and it does it right. It is super fast-paced with a unique art style and approach. It makes you care about the characters, the world, and basically, everything that happens in the world. It is full of surprises and it seems like it always exceeds your expectations. It is gory, fast, emotional, cool, and most importantly fun. Once it sucks
...
you in, there is no turning back.
It starts with an average shonen set-up but after 5-10 chapters you realize how different it actually is. It has amazing concepts and characters you truly care about. Even tho every fan is waiting for an anime adaptation, I don't think it will successfully capture the essence of the manga.
I didn't want to write the usual: this is the story, these are the characters, etc ...
Chainsawman is something that you need to experience for yourself and decide whether it fits your taste or not. But if you take my advice you give it a chance...
PLEASE DON'T SLEEP ON CHAINSAW MAN

After being in the anime/manga community I too came across the overly popular manhwa called solo leveling. With its 8.9 score and strong reviews, I expected a so-called masterpiece, but oh boy was I wrong.
This review will contain spoilers you've been warned!
First, let's talk about the story, but there is nothing really to talk about. It's your generic week guy "dies" gets op powers and beats the shit out of everyone he doesn't like. BuT hE hAs To Do DaIlY qUeStS tO gEt StRoNg yeah no shit, but I don't think doing 100 push-ups a day is a big enough quest on its own to
...
get this powerful this fast. It's nothing special compared to an MMORPG power fantasy, but it has so many weaknesses and plotholes. First of all the world around us and how it works is extremely poorly written with little to no explanation whatsoever (like the gates or the government or even the classes like mage or assassin are just thrown at us out of nowhere). The other major problem is the repetitiveness of the story. Every so-called "arc" can be summarised in a short sentence, which is: Good guy goes into the dungeon, something bad happens, but it doesn't really matter because the good guy will always win at the end. (Even though it's my personal opinion I hated how the always referred to the first quest of the story multiple times even though it happened like 15-20 chapters ago) The "bad guys" are plain with no original motives or powers whatsoever. And sometimes the story just straight up makes no sense at all (a criminal who's most likely "C" tier gets defeated by an "E" lvl dungeon boss, or the main character can clear an "S" type dungeons defender but then struggles against a "C" type dungeon boss and a "B" type assassin right after, even though the hunters can fell the strength of monsters or others, but they clearly can't use this ability when it can be used effectively in certain situations) And oh boy the dungeons. Every dungeon feels the same, maybe except for the first one. I didn't understand why the writers refused to use more complicated, puzzle-like dungeons (like the first one in the story). I think it would have made a huge difference, because as I mentioned earlier every dungeon follows the same roots, which gets old early on.
The "Characters"
You may be wondering, why I used the marks, but let me tell you, how weak these characters are. Weak isn't even fitting. They are disposable and hollow. Even though we get some character introduction very early on, it is truly disappointing how little their development is. For example, we get a younger sister, an ill mother, a cute healer, and 2 old geezers, but they just feel like clouds floating in the air, with no effect on the world nor the story. Same with the villains. No originality, no foreshadowing, we just get to the next arc, Great! time to meet a new template bad guy. BUT WORST PART IS NON OTHER THAN THE MAIN CHARACTER HIMSELF. in the first chapters, he feels much more relatable being weak and wanting to overcome the weakness, but he just becomes a plain "edgy badass" main character with no characteristics. He just does whatever he wants with no consequences, and he just doesn't feel like a real character anymore.
The only positive element is the art. It is truly breathtaking. Every page feels like a masterpiece when you look at it. The colors and the poses are all well-fitting, it's just sad that it is the only thing keeping this manhwa alive in my personal opinion.
If you just want to read something, where you don't have to use your brain. and just turn the world off for a couple of hours, you can go ahead and enjoy this killing/edgelord orgy. I don't think it is totally unreadable or unenjoyable, but I just can't see the point of this being the most popular/highest rated manhwa on the website.
I started Solo Leveling with high expectations, and I really wanted to like it as much as others did, but the more I read the more problems and holes I found. The whole story just feels empty. It has no soul to it. If I have to compare it to something, I would say it's Sao's edgy older brother but sadly nothing else.

Oh boy here we go !
The monogatari series. The number 1 highest ranking light novel here in myanimelist...
If your'e new here and your'e not familiar with the monogatari series nor read the light novels, but you are indeed curios, then let me help you
First thing you have to understand, the monogatari series, more specifically its author nisio isin doesn't really care about the order of the story
( the prequel to monogatari, which is kizumonogatari got released after bakemonogatari ) its sounds weird and it causes a lot of controversy in the fandom too... in my opinion you can either start with kizu or
...
bakemonogatari they are both enjoyable. But after story progresses we jump more and more in the timeline . So don't be surprised!
AND HERE IS THE REAL DEAL
The monogatari series is ALL about the characters!!!!!
Story ? you may ask, doesn't matter! It's basically nonexistent. Characters go from point A to point B and here you go. That's it. If you expected a world breaking story with the biggest plot wist ever developed, than you will be disappointed. As i mentioned earlier the series is all about the characters their dialogues, and monologues. And nisio isin's wordplay/ writing style.
He loves making references and long pages of dialogues. Most of the time nothing really happens, just 2 characters interacting with each other.
We have some nice discussions about girl panties, the meaning of love, life and friendship. But sometimes the author decides to throw in some meaningless tool and lets his imagination go wild. We basically have 10 pages where nothing happens, Araragi is just thinking about some girls panties that's all. But you don't have to take those seriously, it just shows how a high school boy thinks and feels. WARNINGS: the series, especially kizumonogatari can be stupidly sexual sometimes. In the first season " first 7 books from kizumonogatari to nekomonogatari white " we have our main protagonist aka Koyomi Araragi as narrator. I was really impressed how strange/weird he gets sometimes, but to be honest i was obsessed with Araragi. He is a loner, a bad student, who doesn't want friends. He is generic at first glance, but he's actions and the way he sees the world, people and other situations makes him stick out. It was really interesting getting to know him better and understand him.
He truly shines as a main character and as an individual.
Every word that leaves his mouth, can be used as an awesome quote. "Worlds how powerless" or "I think you should call the verbal abuse police then"
Short story
1) If you start with kizumonogatari / wound tale
It's a story about how Koyomi Araragi a high school loser met the missy class president and helped the world's most fearsome vampire
This is how everything started. You can read this first, or you can read it after nekomonogatari. The story here is surprisingly good, and i loved the "twist" at the end. But if you can't handle a 10 page long description of underwear, than i'm sorry but the series isn't for you...
2) If you start with bakemonogatari / monster tale
Bakemonogatari is a collection of short stories about troublesome girls, demons gods and possessed souls. Our main protagonist Koyomi Araragi already has some experience with this kind of stuff, which are monsters, and unnatural events, so he decides to help the girls in need. Here we have some hints about Araragi's spring break, which is the story of kizumonogatari. The plots are basic, but we get to know the characters and Araragi.
Overall
I think it's a great experience, but the series isn't meant for everybody. You either fall in love with it, or you throw it in the garbage bag. There is no in between.
Afterword
Hope it was helpful and sorry for making some grammar mistakes, i am just a human afterall c:
