I will say it the most easy way... If you want to fully enjoy this movie, read the manga first or else you will feel like its too rushed and prolly wouldnt understand how much time passed between the scenes which can make you feel lost as the movie contains the complete manga in it so a lot of chapters, scenes got cut off to squeeze the story in.
As someone who read the manga while it was still ongoing I enjoyed this a lot as it contains every important scene (except one sweet scene between one of the couples in one's room > read
...
it to get what Im talking about 😝) which is kinda disappointing but overall I'm very satisfied with how it turned out. Also the movie doesnt really portray the character development because the movie didnt go too deep into them or rather didnt have time for that. But that's not missing in the manga, actually all four MCs got their fair share of development so thats another reason why you should read the manga beforehand to just fully focus on and find pleasure in the major scenes in this movie.
So my recommendation is read the manga first, if you enjoy it then you will love this movie because you will see all the important and favorite scenes in motion and sound (and with incredible art, just look at those backgrounds, OMG) which is more than enough I would say, something that people who likes Ao Haru Ride (another story by the same mangaka) didn't get in its adaptation.

Gosh, people. Stop trashing and hating it so much,... oh yeah, because you expected something totally different from author whose works are always about friendship and action. Sure, the nakama talk can be irritating, but at the same time, for someone like me who hates people, it can be refreshing to see purity xD But that's not why I am writing this,.. Im sick of seeing how people are hating on this and writing bad reviews because they are disappointed with the story how its similar to Fairy Tail and such... in what? Srsly, the only thing that is the same is the author, and
...
that's the point. How can you expect him to create something out of his style? I'm reading it because it is his work, and not someone elses, and that's what u should expect in the first place, and then you won't be disappointed.. if you wanted somethin else, then go read the genre and style of another mangaka.
There are only 5 chapters so far, and it was already emotional and funny, and so I like it. The story is different from his previous works and that's the point, isn't it? You are not reading the same things all over again, maybe just with the same taste becuase it's just how Hiro draws and writes.
The bad thing about this manga is the characters. He showed us he can draw different hairstyles and eye-shapes, so why are the main characters and a lot of side chars so similar to those of FT?! I have already seen head to toe Erza, Max, Warren, Levy, Droy and Jet. Also there's just another Mira and Lucy, just with different hairstyles, and kind of black haired Natsu.
Just why can't he be more creative? I guess its some kind of fan service like it was with Jellal, but still I'm a little disappointed with that, there should be some limit. But overall I'm enjoying it so far.
// EDIT: And with every new chapter its getting better and better. By the ch 27 there's plenty of different and VERY interesting new characters, which makes you to dont give a f* about the similarity of the 2 main characters anymore

Since a lot of ppl were saying that they were disappointed with this anime, or any other negative things about it, I decided that I should write my own as well...
Because of all the negatives I almost didn't watch this, because all you see is that the story is predictable or stupid, and the list goes on and on...
But let's be honest, what anime is not predictable? I don't know about you guys but there was not a single anime that I was unable to predict or at least parts of it, I always think about it while watching it and guessing what's gonna
...
happen which is just like an instict to me, Im not even trying, and Im almost always right. So what if you may guess who is gonna die in the episode? So what if you can guess who is going to win? Is that really that big of a deal? But I really doubt there is a single person who could say HOW the person was going to win. That was not predictable at all, it was greatly made and it all just made sense in the end, not beforehands. So yeah, you may find yourself asking why this one had to die like that, or why does that one win, but the end makes you say, "ah", because everything just HAD to happen that way and that makes it wonderful... that there was a really good reason why did everything happen the way it happened. So even if you hate that your favorite chars died, or how they died, in the end, at least in my case, I was like "oh okay" and the bitterness fades away, because it just makes sense. And thats one of the reasons why I like this anime so much, because only few anime have that.
Even tho Im a fan of Fate/Zero, I don't like the others like Fate/Stay night etc, and Juuni Taisen has what I liked about Zero. There's action, there's blood, there's story, there's different and likeable characters, there's no room for teenagers and their drama - and especially there is a simple ending - one winner, and not just like any other anime that just ends whatsoever. Simply its one of the good ones. Sure, everyone has their own opinion, but don't be stupid and let the haters ruin the anime for you when you haven't even watched it yet, make your own opinion and reasons why you hate or like it. Give yourself a chance to watch it without being influenced.
The only thing I disliked about this anime was that every character had their background explored but one. And I kinda hated the 9th episode, haha (especially the animation, since the whole anime had this really cool animation, but then in that one episode it was like playing some game, it was really disappointing, but it eventually got better again, so yay)
So yeah, I like the story, I love the characters, in the most episodes I loved the art, the music wasn't that memorable tho but I enjoyed the whole anime to the fullest.
