I started watching this the day after the first episode came out and honestly I kinda liked it. Or at least enough to wait for the second episode. Honestly I don't know why the director decided to air the anime out of order but oh well. I will try and not talk about spoilers in this review (light spoiler warning just in case it comes out while I am in the flow of writing).
Story: 4/10
The story is... decent? It's basically about a princess in a fantasy world. The world discriminates against demihumans, onis (ogres), etc and the main character, Sally, does not like that. So
...
she tries to make peace between races. And of course she meets some companions along the way. That's the gist of it without spoiling anything. I didn't particularly find the story (at least in this first season) very unique but some others may enjoy it.
Art: 8/10
The art is actually quite nice to look at. The colors are pretty cool too. The animation isn't very bad either so yeah, that's all about art I guess.
Sound: 7/10
The OST is very nice and so are the opening and the ending songs. The opening is a more energizing rock song whereas the ending is more relaxing.
Characters: 6/10
The characters are... alright, to say the least. I didn't really like Sally, the protagonist but the other characters were pretty good. My favorite character from the anime is Frau, for sure.
Enjoyment: 5/10
Did I enjoy the show? I actually did (sorta...). The out of order episodes may seem unenjoyable which is why I recommend watching the ordered version. Would I rewatch this show? Definitely not...
Overall, a 6/10 (which, very conveniently, happens to be the average of all 5 scores and this is also the rating I gave the show before thinking about reviewing it).
PS: Thank you for reading the review. I hope you enjoyed and uhhh... I hope the next season has the episodes in order.
