Both the shows are similar in the sense that although it is a Romance anime, friendship is the most powerful element. In both shows, you have a group of friends who are different from everyone in their school. In Ouran, it's because they're in a Host Club, while in Special A, they're all in the top 7 students of their school, which basically allows them to hang out in another building and not really do any school work. Every character in the shows gets their own arcs where they go into more detail as to who the character is, their quirks, and how they came to join the school. Both of the shows have a good balance for all of their "side characters" and show a lot about the characters all having fun together, and having an overall great high school experience.

...then you might like Mahou Shoujo Site add

Both series show the darker side of being a magical girl. Madoka Magica mostly focusses on what happens after a magical girl gets her powers, while Magical Girl Site shows how the girls given their powers (sticks) lived unfortunate lives, thus Magical Girl Site sending them a stick for them to use, while decreasing their life span every time they use it as a consequence.
