Lelouch (Zero) and Bruce Wayne (Batman) are very similar but in a different world, different style, different setting, and mostly a different universe. They have a strong sense of justice by becoming vigilantes and not heroes because they have used the concept "ends justify the means" to defeat evil. Also instead of using superpowers, they mostly use gadgets despite Lelouch uses a supernatural power geass (which is not an ordinary superpower but an optical eye power). They are both geniuses living a rich life with a partner along with advanced technology. However Lelouch and Bruce later faces a series of events that will forever change everything. Code Geass is more of a mecha than crime solving and fighting but if you find one similar to the other, watch it!

Philosophy are similar regarding Earth and Space and those who wants to change the world through actions. OZ and UESA and colonies are more closer to being based on Zeon than Earth.

Both shows are OVAs in their respective timelines and in my opinion, they are both awesome. The reason why is because they show a different point of view on a different character rather than the main story, has a much more darker tone, less use of powers (Newtype, Geass), more mecha combat, less romance, and suspense. Akito and Kou are soldiers on a different part of the military and later fall in love with female leads (Leila and Nina) and has a feud with a rival character (Shin, Suzaku and Anavel Gato. The show shows both the main forces fighting an opposing nation (EU Wyvern vs Euro Britannia and Earth Federation vs Delaz Fleet).
