Overall - it was enjoyable. And also unoriginal and 100% forgettable. You know how you'll watch a last episode and think "Man, I can't wait for a season 2!!!" Not here. One season is enough. What was really terrible was the translations. For example, Laust is always called "O-niisan" by Narsena. But the translation is "Laust." Same thing throughout the anime - it's off-putting. Then there's the animation. Some of it is just terrible. The perspective is often mixed up, Laust is holding a long knife, then sword, then knife, then who-knows-what - a crooked line? A stick? There's little detail anywhere and the ...

Such an unusual anime. Kid safe, hilarious, has most of the tropes we expect - and a few character twists we don't. It's just pointless fun. Cute. well animated with really good voice acting. If you liked "Torture Princess" this will be right up your alley. What's life like for a magical girl? Do they swear? Do their friends swear? Along the way you'll be introduced to one of the funniest characters in Anime. Oh yea. That one is NOT kid safe. Her vocabulary is basically one four letter word. Any you'll be laughing out loud.

Can good and evil really make it work? Will ...

I was late on the Kobayashi bandwagon. I watched the first episode soon after it was released and said - "Nope, not my cup of Sake." Then years later I was watching on of those "best anime battle scene" collections on YouTube. Tohru vs Elma was in there. Tohru vs Ilulu. Wow. So I went back and binged it - the anime had come to an end a few years earlier. I am so glad I revisited it.

Tons of humor, amazing animation, fantastic score, unbeatable voice acting. It was just fun! Sure, it's slow and slice-of-lice at times, but it's also a rollercoaster. One minute ...

It boils down to a slice-of-life anime in a world where magic is real, but is essentially technology. It's used to imbue items with various effects. Wind and fire magic makes a flamethrower or hair dryer. Ice magic makes a cooler. Fire magic makes a boiler. That type of thing. Dahlia is isekaied after dropping at a young age from overwork - it says something about Japanese culture that so many Manga and Anime share this trope. Her pops is a well known "artificer" who has invented numerous magical devices and she's raised by him in a house that's also a workshop and lab, where ...

Another anime that relies on slimes. The cuter they are and the more intelligent, the better the rewards. So of course the intrepid hero will unalive as many as possible, acquire loli servants/slaves, and be as insipidly annoying while doing so. You'll have zero attachment to any of the characters in the anime, but it's still a way to pass the time. Rimuru is still having meetings about meetings and when to have more meetings, so I need something with a little action. I almost wish Rimuru would show up here and do some demon lord damage. But what we have is so-so animation ...

Preliminary (13/25 eps)
This is not your run of the mill action-packed anime. It's an anime your Otaku economics teacher would drool over. People call it boring - it's not nearly as bad as this seasons spat of episode after episode of slime meetings. And meetings about scheduling meetings. Craft and Holo are usually on the road, where the goal of our crafty merchant is to turn a profit, and Holo is mostly interested on munching on sweets. Or the people that assault Craft. It's the ups and down of his business, cutting deals, betrayals, politics, and their unusual relationship - a wise harvest god and a not-so-wise ...

Spoiler
You really have to know the manga to appreciate this. You won't know until the end that there's time-travel, but no branching universes/worlds. Everything is reset. The final episode is heart-wrenching and one of those "You can't do this to us" moments. There will be a season 2, and more and more time travel and resetting of history. I honestly wished that the whole going back in time bit would have been skipped, but that's what the manga is about, so....

It's worth the watch - but I wish I would have waited until season 2 was out so I'm not left with that really terrible ...

So what we have is a mix of SAO with some Death March and about every generic fantasy / computer game trope you can find. It started out OK, seemed unoriginal, but really picked up midway through. Decent character development and animation, great voice acting (I'm a sub fan) - but as the season progressed, the animation quality regressed. The final few episodes had some of the absolute worst animation I've ever seen. Not the entire thing - but several segments in each one. Flat faces lacking detail, nothing moving in a frame except someone's mouth (ever see the Conan Clutch-Cargo ripoffs? Same thing...) and ...

I only found this because it was recommended, and it's been one of my favorites this season. Yea, it's cute and food related, but it's full of surprises and a demon lord who's a better boss than 95% of the ones in the real world. Torture and her sidekick are original and hilarious, and the cast of supporting characters provide the princess with everything she's been missing in her life. And she returns the favor. It's a "feel good" anime that's fine for kids and adults and one I'm glad there's a season 2 announced.

Yes, most of the characters are kids and most of ...

Preliminary (7/12 eps)
First thing you need to do. WATCH the closing credits. It's an emotional roller-coaster using several animation styles that is basically a prequel to the series. You can FEEL her suffering the loss of her brother. Yes, the sis/bro thing it way over the top, but the bottom line is she will do anything for him because their previous life revolved around him doing the same for her. Her end-goal is to see him grow and become independent.

The animation is really well done, the sound is great and the voice acting perfect. OK, yea, it's "JAIA" Just Another Isekai Anime - and many characters ...
