A very pleasant 7/10, which isn't an opinion I've had on another piece of media before.
Nothing bad about this movie, just doesn't hit as strong as either of the other two movies out up to this point and doesn't hit as hard as the TV show.

I think the story was fine, and there was a happy ending. There weren't really sad moments like many of the episodes of the TV series & like the other two movies had.

The movie just focused on Kaede, but unlike episodes in the main series there weren't a whole lot of scenes not featuring her, and I think ... the movie could have benefitted from focusing on other characters' perspectives on Kaede more. While other characters' thoughts on Kaede are presented, they're usually while Kaede is on-screen, or is so very shortly after. We don't get to see much of the in-between.
I think it also could have benefitted from at least a small B-plot.
I don't think the writing for other characters was very fleshed out in this movie.

I think you should definitely still watch this if you're planning on watching all the Rascal/Bunny movies, but the friends I watched this with and I generally consider this to be a filler movie between #1 and #3.

Looking forward to movie #4 in 2026*!
