Even though I've rated this anime 10/10, I promise this is not sarcasm or humour. I genuinely enjoyed this anime, and here's why.
Most importantly this anime is only one minute long - therefore, it didn't take any effort or time for me to watch this.
It's on YouTube so it's free.
It's a short comedy, and it made me laugh. My sense of humour is definitely immature, but this anime still did the job. It made me laugh. You can't say it's a bad anime if it successfully did what it was made to do!
Yes the production values are rubbish, but I truly believe entertainment
...
should be rated on it's entertainment value, and not it's production value. I enjoyed this anime, so I've rated it a ten.
The story is simple, so it's easy to watch, but it's also quite up to interpretation what the story means exactly.
It's original. I wasn't expecting anything that happened, and I commend the creator for coming up with this!
Seriously just watch it.

*Check the bottom for TL;DR*
My friend came round for A Level results celebration and so I was wondering what film to watch. As an anime fan I didn't really want to watch a normal film so I was wondering what anime film to watch. I also ordered a harmonica off amazon last week which came in the post today, so I've been playing harmonica all day so when I was thinking of films, I immediately thought of cowboy bebop. Because Cowboy Bebop is so good and so loved around the world, I checked to see if there was a movie, and praise the lord there
...
was! However a lot of film adaptations are really bad representations of the source material, so I checked MAL for rating; 8.4 or something so I thought, looks promising. I want my friend to watch Cowboy Bebop the series so I was worried that if this film was bad it would put him off watching the series. After watching it I am soooooo happy! This film was awesome! My friend loved it, I loved it and I am just so glad this film was true to Cowboy Bebop. Truly fantastic and definitely worth watching both if you have seen the series, and if you haven't!
For those of you who've seen Cowboy Bebop the series, you'll know it is acclaimed for it's art, marrying of western and Japanese styles, music, creating a whole new genre, characters, seeing things from the bad guy's side and so much more. This movie has to be commended so much because it does all of those things just as well as the series! If you loved the series you'll love the movie. It doesn't lack a single thing in my opinion. The art is the same great style we see in the series, the music is new but sticks to the same blues/rock/jazz style that I love and the characters are just as full and memorable as they are in the series, although if you haven't seen the series, you will have missed a lot of backstory.
TL;DR
This film has everything you expect from Cowboy Bebop. It's a great film, with or without the series and is so worth watching. Romance, action, thrill, sci-fi, fantasy, and so much more it's beautiful.

First of all, if you don't think you'll like it, watch it anyway. I started off thinking this was a cheap, silly romcom anime that was for romance fans or people who were easily impressed... I was wrong!
Story: 10/10
The story is about love triangles/squares/dodecahedrons... I lost count midway through the anime. However, it's also deep, emotional, full of moral conflicts and struggles which brought out the true personality of all five of the main characters. It's rare for a short anime such as this to achieve such in-depth back story and development between the characters, and it's lovely to see real chemistry between them. I've
...
seen a couple of romance anime in my time and even though Toradora is not solely 'romance', it can still be regarded as a top runner in the world of romance anime. What I liked especially about the story is the ability to show one act as being morally right, and for the viewer to agree with it, and then later on, show that actually that was the wrong thing to do. Consequently it made me think very much about right and wrong and what things I myself could do and stop doing to improve my personality and become a better person. Since Ryuuji is constantly trying to do right, I was constantly asking myself, "Is this what I would do in that situation?".
While it may not be for everyone, and a lot of people most likely didn't look that deep, I enjoyed this moral aspect of the show.
Toradora also managed to be funny, exciting, scary and so happy it gave me tears of joy and for that I am very grateful to Toradora.
Art: 7/10
Unlike shows like AoT, No Game No Life and Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, the art in Toradora is nothing special. It's generic and really doesn't ask to be admired. In a way, it's obvious the creators of this show wanted to work more on story than art, and that's fine. It didn't add, or take away from the overall experience of Toradora. Character design was fairly good though, as the girls looked cute, and the facial expressions were good, but again, nothing to shake a stick at.
Sound: 7/10
The opening and closing songs of this anime were pretty cool. It wasn't the sort of music I would listen to normally, but it was good enough that I sat through the intro and ending during each episode... that is until halfway through and as if by universal law, the second OP and ED were worse than the first two. They weren't awful, but I chose to skip them then. Music throughout the anime was ok. The music was suitable for the mood, and generally helped towards making it more enjoyable, however it was again mediocre. I won't be downloading the soundtrack to this anime.
Character: 9/10
As I said in the story part, in my opinion, character development in Toradora is one of it's strong points. The five main characters all have a good amount of back story and character development. I felt I could easily sympathise and connect with them. It's an aspect of storytelling that is often left out of short anime and so I congratulate the original authors, writers and directors of Toradora for doing so well on this front. I also think that the characters are all fairly likeable. They all have motives, opinions and their own morals which create a fascinating dynamic throughout the group and thus, is very entertaining.
[One final point] This show can get confused. There's a lot going on and so near the end, the ideals, morals and dynamics get a little confused and slightly rushed at the end. I feel like a lot happened at the end that wasn't fully explained and for that reason alone, I did not give this anime 10/10.
Overall:
This is not the best anime ever, but it's certainly up there! I feel like it will appeal to wide audiences and get people very engrossed in the show. I recommend this show to all anime fans, regardless of previous preferences. Watch the first episode, and if you don't like it, then don't watch it.

This film is weird! It's full of unanswered questions, mysterious back story and a mysterious setting which is kept a mystery throughout the whole film.
The concept, art and music is all so beautiful and I love these aspects of the film. Visually, Patema Inverted is a beautiful adventure and journey which makes this well worth the watch and something which I am very happy to have on my shelf. The two main characters, Eiji and Patema are also very likeable.
On the other hand, this movie has enormous plot holes which really lets the whole thing down. How and why there is inverted gravity
...
is left a mystery throughout the film, which is a shame. So, if you decide to watch this film, don't watch it for the sci-fi element, because that bit is virtually non-existent. This film is a story of two types of people from two very different worlds who when they crossover, uncover the long lost history of their worlds.
I did enjoy it though, so I do recommend it.

I finished watching this anime with a friend on new year's eve, and while she liked it, I was less impressed. Before Christmas I had just finished watching Sword Art Online II and Akame Ga Kill, so after Christmas I was still at a high from those two amazing anime. So maybe it's because I'm comparing it too heavily to other anime, but 'Love Live! School Idol Project' did not impress me very much.
Story - The story was clear and concise. Save the school from closing down by starting a school idol group as a publicity stunt. While it was easy to follow, it
...
was also easy to predict. The show gave little in surprises or excitement and was just too basic for my liking. But I must commend them for staying on track. A short anime like this has to stay on track, because they don't have time for fillers and side stories. While the story was basic for my liking, I must admit there were times when I enjoyed the simplicity, when I knew what was going to happen, and it happened, it was kind of refreshing and I could sit back and enjoy the show.
Art - The art in this show is beautiful. 'Love Live! School Idol Project' is a slice of life anime, and therefore you can't expect real artistic spectacles like unique settings or amazingly detailed weapons or spaceships. It is standard for this genre; school, arcades, modern towns and students. The show is detailed though, and you don't get any faceless people in the crowd which is nice. The only place this anime really stands out in terms of art is the character design. I am not going to hide it, I thought the girls were stunning! They all had lovely hair and each girl had a different colour which distinguished the members of the group nicely. It was also clear that they were drawn with the purpose of being attractive, that typical pretty school girl look you get in a lot of slice of life anime. I would also like to commend the show's artists and directors for omitting panty shots, this show manages to avoid fanservice and for that I thank them. It really is unnecessary.
Sound - There isn't much to say on this. I watched the subbed version, and so the Japanese voices were the same old voices you get in anime. The girls all sounded fairly similar, young and cute and girly with few exceptions. The voice acting was on par, and I have no complaints there. The music was pretty good, not to my taste, but if you like the genre of music, idol music, then you'll probably like this. Personally I preferred the music in shows like Kids On The Slope and K-On! but hey that's just me. The music was catchy and upbeat and so no complaints there either.
Character - I rated the characters a 5 because I felt they were way too shallow. Love Live! is only a 13 episode anime, so maybe that was the reason, but I felt they could have developed the characters further. I feel like I hardly know them. Not a single character had back story and the only way we got to know them was through their interactions with the other members of the Idol group during the course of the anime.
Enjoyment - It was alright. Like I said in my introduction, I wasn't very impressed. I would only recommend this show to people who had expressed to me that they like idols or are really into music anime. But other than that, there's no reason to watch this show. It was a fun ride, with a few laughs here and there and the way the girls smiled throughout most of the anime had me smiling as well. Those damn contagious smiles :D
Overall - I am rating the show a 5 for mediocre. It's nothing special, but also it does do it's job. It's an idol show, and so people who like idols and the music that goes with it probably don't care that the story is generic and the characters are shallow.

Disclaimer: This was the first anime I ever watched, so I probably enjoyed it more than the average anime lover :3
This anime is good, great, fantastic! It's full of hilarious moments, badass action scenes, and an admirable try-hard main character. When I watched High School DxD, the fantasy really stood out for me (although I didn't have any other anime to compare it to at the time). The magic circles, giant dragons, explosions and amazing super powers that made the eyes drool (metaphorically), it was truly a great start to my life as an otaku.
Looking back, the story and character development was pretty weak,
...
but that's besides the point. I didn't watch it for the story and characters. I enjoyed the art, I loved Issei's perverted antics and the priceless looks on his face when anything lewd happened. It made for a hilarious watching and that is why I have rated my enjoyment so high. Considering I had never before seen a show about a perverted boy and giant boobs (and small boobs for that matter), this show felt fresh, daring and exciting and it had me at the edge of my seat gawping and thinking 'DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN???'.
Another point is the random, and often too plentiful changes in mood that the show went through. Halfway through fights which are supposed to be serious and cool, are interjected by sexual jokes and slapstick comedy. Depending on what you like, it's either a blessing or a reason to not watch the show. Although I would say this show is mainly a comedy so expect silliness galore!
Finally, I must warn you of the amount of fanservice this show contains (For those of you unsure what I mean, there are boobs everywhere, and quite often the inappropriate panty shot. (Those Japanese... *sighs*) If you're not into it, then you will probably find this show difficult to watch. But, if you're an avid anime fan, you're probably used to it so you shouldn't mind. And remember, this show is ecchi - not hentai. There is no sex in this show!
All in all, I loved the show. It is a great laugh and has great fantasy elements! The OP and ED songs are very enjoyable and as a whole, I highly recommend High School DxD to those who like magic and high school boy shows (and aren't too put off by the fanservice). I hope this review helped you a little bit! (ᕑᗢूᓫ∗)
