Both of these feature a yakuza theme and manly men. Also, and the main reason I make this recommendation, is that both mangas share a strong element of unpredictability. The story doesn't go the way you initially think it will. The characters don't behave the way you expect, nor do they take on the roles you think they will at first glance. It's refreshing, surprising, and endearing.

The stories and settings are nothing alike but the uke main characters in both start out as self-loathing men who will sell or trade their body to anyone for anything, but who, over time, grow to treasure themselves and the person they love. Both made me cry.

Both are early 1900s period pieces that share themes of rape, political intrigue (though this is much more of a focus in Yuuustu na As), and hatred of family. These are dark, twisted, mature, not really happy stories. But both kept me engaged and turning the pages even if I didn't feel real great while doing so.

The personality of the semes is similar. Both are possessive, have bad tempers, are cool and badass, and at times, very funny. The ukes share some traits as well. Both are stubborn, childlike, and tricksy, while also emotionally scarred and unwilling to be honest about their feelings. These manga also share a dark, snarky, sardonic sense of humor that is laugh-out-loud funny.

Both of these are slice-of-life stories that follow the development of a relationship. The progression of the relationship is what drives the story and the moment of realization for the party in denial brought tears to my eyes in both cases. The characters are relatable and endearing. The adult setting (meaning, not a high school setting) was refreshing. The men are men, no blushing maidens, and not necessarily typical of their roles. If you want a sweet story that will make you smile and cry at the same time .... This is the one.

Yakuza is a theme in both though far more prevalent in TC. The art style is very similar. The ukes in both could be brothers, they look so similar. Their personalities are somewhat alike as well. Both are strong-willed, independent, and don't really stay down and defeated for long. They're refreshing ukes because they're neither "blushing ukes" nor tsunderes. The semes share some traits as well. Both are high level yakuza men; both are pretty brutal during sex; both are very possessive. Few plots can compare to TC's depth and intensity but the Finder series doesn't do too badly at giving the reader a fun ride.

Both share a theme of the yakuza, and both have dark characters struggling with dark pasts. One thing that I liked about both series was the lack of "blushing ukes," if you know what I mean. The uke in TC was very strong willed and independent. The uke in YOT is a uke in position only. Otherwise, he actually has more personality traits of a typical seme than a uke. I like the strong "maleness" of the uke and the seme in both series. They're both very romantic stories when it comes down to it. Yea, they're dark and twisted but also romantic. The little things the characters do for each other to show their love are really touching. I liked how in both series, the characters weren't perfect, didn't behave as expected, but made steps toward personal growth. Not many manga can elicit an actual emotional response from me and both of these did. I laughed out loud; I cried. Both were very enjoyable reads.
