If you asked me about One Piece, i would tell you that it's one, if not the greatest shounen ever, with fun characters, great adventure, fights, feels and backstories. Once you specify that you're talking about the Anime? Oh boy. The adaptation is done by Toei animation. At first it wasn't terrible. The animation has always been kinda Meh but i can take that without that many issues. However, in the Skypiea Arc i've noticed a reused soundeffect from Dragon Ball (the fuck?) and i started to get a little salty about the adaptation. After the 2 year time skip it was getting worse and
...
worse, animation, sound, pacing, comedy. All of it was getting worse by the minute.
Now, at around episode 820 the issues are worse than ever.
You see, the anime is catching up to the manga, but they don't want to stop cranking out the anime, nor do they want to go the Filler route. So instead they stretch it out as much as possible. So much so that about half of the "content" in the current anime epsodes, isn't in the manga.
For example, the fights. In the manga they are emotional and hype. In the anime, you see them talk for 3 minutes, than it's gonna focus on someone else, than it gets back, a single punch is landed (that you see in stillshot for 2 minutes), than it cuts to other characters talking for 5 minutes......you get the point.
Not only that the pacing gets fucked up like this. They often try to add comedic moments to make it more bearable. Except they fail. Hard.
What you have now is such a chaotic and slow development of characters plot, butchered comedy and basically everything else that's been altered by toei is shit too.
Stuff that takes a chapter in the manga, takes 3 episodes in the anime. Not only that, but at the start of each episode, there's a "recap" of the last episode, then opening, then stuff happens (but not really), then there is ending and preview for the next episode. Just like that, 24 minute episode has 12 minutes of the actual anime, which consists out of 8 minutes of exposition, 2 minutes of stillshots and 2 minutes of actual content.
One piece is great, don't take me wrong. Hell at the start of the anime, it was pretty good, but as time went on, it kept getting worse and worse and now i consider it borderline unwatchable.
TL;DR
If you want to experience the Magical journey that is One Piece, read the manga. the anime is a little over 820 episodes ATM so catching up will take you a while, and once you do catch up, there's no hype or emotion, just ruin and a hollow shell of the manga that's been beaten to death by toei.

Basically, scooby doo, but more predictable and japanese. Well, that's the original anime for you, the "sub version" of this anime is like a strong 4 at best. The dub on the other hand? A masterpiece
Imagine an abridged series going legit. Well, this anime is exactly that.
(This is second hand information) Ghost stories was poorly received in japan, so when it was handed over for redub for the west, they basically had 2 requirements. Don't change names and keep the ways the ghosts are defeated.
AND THEY WENT HAM ON IT. Event though i have no idea if that is actually true, i wouldn't be surprised
...
if it was.
This might just by one of the 3 perfect comedy anime, along with cromartie highschool and nichijou.
The story? There is a book with info on how to get rid of ghosts, kids fuck things up, as they do, and release some. The rest is monster of the week type of show.
The characters? There is a big "main" cast but i would consider Hajime and Satsuki the main characters. They get a funny line every now and then in the eng dub. Where the comedy happens is the other characters and their interactions. You got a girl obsessed with christianity, a jew, a talking sarcastic cat and an actually retarded (potentially adopted) little kid. Let the madness ensue.
Visuals? It looks exactly like any other middle of the road 2000s show. But hey at least it's not CG!
The comedy? It all comes from the voice acting and rewritten lines....such as.
"Bobby please forgive me for bringing you back to life, I know now that it could never work between us, as much as we want it to. Not because you're a rabbit, but because you're black"
Enjoyement, the only score that actually matters? ALL OF IT.
Now, when you start up the show it won't be all that funny. At first it's like they care about the show and try to keep it normal, fast forward 7 episodes and you have a them making dumb noises just to match the lips.

***THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS***
Fire Punch is set in a world covered in Ice and snow. Survival in such environment is....harsh. And whenever you find a civilization they likely have someone among them with superpowers. Our MC, Agni is one of those . He has regeneration so extreme he is basically immortal. His village survives off that ability. Since regenerating a limb or two doesn't exhaust him or seem to consume any energy (k den), he just chops it off constantly to feed the others. Oh yeah, he got a sister. That wants to fuck him. Yep, incest bait. Suddenly some mofo shows up and kills
...
everyone. The said mofo has a superpower too. A flame that doesn't extinguish till it burns anything it touches to ashes. Everyone dies, agni is pissed and swears revenge. Remeber that immotal part? Yeah? Well, he catches on fire, the fire that never goes out, to be more specific. Time skip 8 years into the future and he's trying to hunt down the psycho that ruined his life.
That's basically the prologue.
If you're still not sure lemme give you more info
-The superhumans are often treated as livestock.
-The story shits itself at about chapters 30-40 in or so and decides it wants to be something else
-The MC, Agni is as talkative as an average corpse.
-There is a lot of religious fanaticism, bordering on the occult.
-The ending is so cryptic, it feels like it was supposed be the Neon genesis Evangelion compressed into one short chapter, that got drunk, fell over, got a concussion and thought it was supposed to be a happy end AND got axed in the middle of it.
As you can tell, i enjoyed the first half of the manga. But oh boy did i hate the rest. Especially since i found the cast to be boring and the story somewhat mediocre. The sole reason i gave 5 in the character category was Togata, a....girl that appears later in the story. Whenever there is Togata, there is gonna be some pscho or hilarious shit happening. Sometimes both.
And oh god the movies references. Anyway, rant over. Back to more comprehensive stuff.
-STORY is mediocre, held up by it's setting. At first, an average, although
interesting revenge plot. In the latter chapters it decides it want's to do
something else. And it sucks at it. It wanted to be intelligent and/or
philosophical and usually failed at it or made it somewhat edgy.
The ending was what i would describe as an anticlimactic failure
My score(5)
-ART on the other hand.....I feel like it's a downgraded version of Tokyo
Ghoul's art. Which might actually be a good thing since this world, is a
desolate one. No idea why i like it so much, it just fits the setting.
My score (8)
-CHARACTERS category, was at least for me, carried by Togata, god i love
that nerd. The rest? eh.
Also, it feels like the sole drive behind Agni (MC) isn't the death of the
village, or his suffering but the death of his sister, which cockblocked his
incest urges.
Like, "Oh yeah, all the people i knew are dead and you made me into a
human torch, that's cool bruh. But you killed my sister! And she wanted to
bang! Now that's too far!"
My score (5)
Personal enjoyement? 5, carried by a single character, setting, and the first half of the (mediocre) story.
There are more interesting shows, manga VN, LN and books out there and UNLESS you are either running out of options, or are specifically looking for depressed x-men in an icy wasteland you're not gonna like this.
Outside of these cases, i can't recommend this show.
Seriously though, wtf was that ending.

Everyone seems to be praising witch hunter, and i mostly agree with them, except....
there is a flashback from chapter 110 to chapters 180+ Doesn't even reveal that much new info (so far), we knew most of the stuff already.
70+ chapters of half assed backstory.
To put it into perspective, chapter 109 got translated on scanlation sites in 2014, and that was essentially a training arc.
If you're not gonna buy this and power through the flashback, wait a year or so, hopefully it will be over by then.
Other than that, the story is interesting (as long as it keeps moving) and is easy to get hooked on
...
, the artwork is perfect. Also the author seems to have some......hat fetish with glossy lips....? It lacks a little in the character department, still pretty good though.

This manga sets out to do one thing. Be a borderline porn. And it does it well.
Basically, some people are able to bend certain metals to their will and to do that they use this....liquid which is essentially mana. Guess where that mana comes from? That's right! Anime tiddies. Bottles are overrated so they suck it straight from the source. That's it, the rest doesn't matter.
If you're looking for manga, with decent art, that has ungodly amount of tits in it with nudity and a couple of superpowered fights sprinkled on top of it, this is what you're looking for.
If you require
...
decent writing, plot and character development, avoid this like your sick neighbor in 1350's Europe.
Oh yeah, it also has anime adaptation, it's....exactly what you would expect it to be like. A good ecchi series.
