Mashle: Shinkakusha Kouho Senbatsu Shiken-hen

Another example of how a good comedy doesn't need a serious or real plot.

Magic and Muscles was one of the most creative series you can find and definitely something many would have wished for. We have a world very similar to Harry Potter, a silly and super strong protagonist and perfectly spiced macabre silly humour.

That was the recipe for success, nothing more. The writer should have kept exactly what we had in the first season. The pacing was decent, the story was amusing and everything had a well-built joke at the end. Instead in the second season they had ...

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-hen
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc

Please understand me, I like Demon Slayer. No matter how clichéd, stupid, and embarrassing the anime can be, I like it for that very simplicity. And the naturally shockingly good animations are just the cherry on top of the already appetising cake.

It has to be said anyway, this season was just bad, there's nothing more to say. The pacing was sluggish, practically nothing happened. The whole season was just one big training arc with an Indian film at the end. Nothing happened in the whole season except screentime for irrelevant side characters that ...

Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku-hen

With the second and currently final season of Tokyo Revengers, the anime continued its mental torture. Although the main character Takimichi has become more bearable and had a cool moment for the first time in the entire series, it hasn't helped the series any further.

Once again, Tokyo Revengers doesn't know what it's supposed to be, it tries everything possible to somehow seem ‘good’. You can accept time travel and all that nonsense. But when the anime suddenly turned into a shounen where people had superpowers and could move at the speed of sound, my brain cells were gone. Everything the author tried to ...

Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen - Ketsubetsu-tan

I can hardly decide which of the two new seasons was better or worse. Like the first, this season got off to a pretty dynamic start and delivered more Bleach lore to fans of the series. Among other things, this season also included one of the most popular Zaraki fights from the manga, which was well represented.

The real problem with this season is not whether it's good or bad, but how generic it is. Absolutely nothing happens in this season that hasn't already been done several times by other shounen, one cliché follows the other, offering no variety whatsoever.
The first ...

Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen-hen

Despite a solid concept, the first season was already a tragedy, so I'm not surprised that the second season continues at a qualitatively mediocre level. The only exception is that I find this season more likable. It became more of a generic shounen, but at least it had some sort of goal, no matter how stupid it was.

The highlight of this season was the protagonist because he really started to develop and not just talk about it all the time. That didn't make this season any better, but at least it made it a bit more bearable. The rest of the characters ...

Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen

After the first 3 episodes had actually impressed me and I immediately had to write a "positive" review about it, the remaining 9 episodes made me do the opposite. There was much talk about the anime fixing many of the manga's problems with changes and improvements. I'm still waiting for that. The intro of this season was decent, it built up suspense and curiosity and the studio did a good job of pacing. Unfortunately, everything changed with the beginning of the invasion of the Soul Society. From then on it was just a mediocre spectacle.

The Quincy invasion was a complete mindless act ...

Tokyo Revengers

I remember when the anime was released in 2021 and had gathered quite a lot of hype around it. It was compared to other similar works like "Erased" and seemed to be rather popular. Well at least for the first few months, somewhere in the middle of it, people suddenly stopped seeing any of the anime on YouTube or anywhere else, it was like it was gone and there was no trace of the fans. After I started watching this anime, I understood why that was the case.

Despite all expectations, this anime/manga is blessed with a very interesting concept, especially for thriller fans. We ...

Nah I'd Win Season 2

I haven't read the JJK manga and was just along for the ride as an anime-only spectator, so I wasn't really expecting this season to actually be interesting. The first season of JJK was basically average shounen with minimal digressions and improvements, it was fun to watch but nothing earth-shattering or noteworthy. Of course, I expected the second season to be roughly similar, especially after watching the mediocre movie. By the way, the movie should be watched after episode 5 ( following the past arc) as it takes place directly between episodes 5 and 6 as far as I remember.

The ...

Golden Kamui 4

Have you ever seen a pseudo Jack the Ripper fight an army officer while the two were shooting at each other with their own "cum"? No? Of course not, but now is your chance. When I started this season, I never expected to see a scene like this on my screen. But I was impressed by it, something like this should be seen more often.

Aside from the masterful performance delivered by this bizarre fight, I must also continue to praise how well the series has developed. Even though this season had more adventure episodes than story episodes, they were made very interesting. It's ...

Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 0

The biggest problem with this "movie" is that it's not really a movie. It's just 4-5 episodes stuffed together with a bigger budget and released as a movie. However, the content is like regular JJK episodes, it's like suddenly releasing the middle part of the first season as a movie, who would actually care about that? It could have been handled much better as a kind of double ova, but at least they made some money out of it, is that all that matters?

Otherwise, the movie was reasonably entertaining, it was fast-moving and introduced a new "important" main character who is suddenly ...
