In a futuristic post-war society where society revolves around the coexistence of humans and androids. Rouge Redstar, an chocoholic android girl, and her partner Naomi Ortmann, undertake a mission to Mars. Their objective is to discover and eliminate the Immortal Nine, a faction of rebellious androids posing a threat to the government and society.

The series promises a deep exploration of themes such as AI ethics, rebellion, societal treatment of androids post-war, and the world’s dependence on a critical resources.

It felt like an odd anime at first, and I had to ... re-watch the first 3x episodes back-to-back, to appreciate the nuances of the series. The android battles are awesome, and I look forward to more action and drama in the series.

I've only watching the first 3 episodes, so will likely update this review later.

Initial impressions are that its very similar to SAO (Sword Art Online), players must complete quests, level up, get stronger etc. But its more similar to dungeons and dragons with a strange mix of cyber/magic affecting the real world as opposed to VMMORPGs. There is a dimensional overlap or players travel through wormholes to dungeons, where they must battle or use their wits to survive. I've been thinking of what to watch next after AoT (Attack on Titan) and SAO; This has certainly hooked my interest, and I will continue ... to watch it.

We follow our would-be hero Jinwoo, who is currently the weakest player, the weakest of the lowest rank E. This appears to be an anime of strength and confidence building, where our hero will endure daily challenges and slowly raise his rank possibly upto S-rank. At the moment its very watchable, it doesn't hook me in like SAO, but I want to give it a chance. The current fight scenes are against lower dungeon monsters. But I'm looking forward to avid fight scenes with stronger monsters.

The animation is fairly good, the dubbing was ok, but could be better. But I ended up watching it with subtitles, for more of an emotional feel to the anime. Some scenes are a bit to quick on the speed for the level of detail and I needed to rewind, hit pause to read full sentences or the detailed on-screen dialogue, to understand what was happening.

Mixed feelings at the moment, but I feel that I should give it a chance... Currently better than fine, so hovering around the good mark.

It manages to seamlessly weave action, philosophy, and supernatural elements into a compelling narrative. Whether you're a fan of intense battles, intricate plots, or well-developed characters, this manga offers a satisfying blend of all these elements. Yuji Kaku's creation stands as a testament to the richness and creativity within the realm of manga.

A rare gem in the world of manga, 'Colourless' by Kent ventures into uncharted territory with its distinctive storyline. Set in a post-apocalyptic universe, the narrative unfolds in a monochromatic world, stripped of color following a cataclysmic event. At first glance, 'Chainsaw Man' might seem like drivel, with its seemingly weak characters and an odd storyline. But as you delve deeper into the strange life of Denji, you'll find yourself irresistibly drawn into a world of dark humor and horror, all wrapped up in the tragic existence of our protagonist. You'll laugh out loud at the absurd and harrowing situations Denji finds himself entangled in.

However, it's important to note that 'Chainsaw Man' is not for everyone. It delves into the darkest aspects of humanity, featuring gore, abuse, and unflinching violence, making it entirely unsuitable for younger audiences.

Despite its heavy themes, the main characters ... often find themselves ensnared in comical twists that leave you unable to stifle your laughter. Simultaneously, the series keeps you on the edge of your seat with end-of-chapter cliffhangers that will have you eagerly anticipating the next installment of the current story arc. 'Chainsaw Man' is a rollercoaster of emotions that will leave you craving more, even as it takes you to the darkest corners of its universe.
