I really liked the anime, but honestly I hate anime that ends open like that, it can be cool for those who read manga, I don't. Therefore, I believe that whoever watched it deserved at least one final scene of a character explaining why he was experimenting on children, where did that alien that gave power to Tokio come from, what happened to Tokio after using that power.
