April 05, 2011, was when Steins gate was first released. Almost a decade has passed since the anime first aired and it still stands as one of the greatest anime to ever be made. Why is that so, and just what makes it so good? This is what I will be answering in this review.
Ok so Steins Gate is about a mad scientist named Okabe Rinatarou or like he likes to be called Huouoin Kyouma. He rents out a room in a small old building in Akihabara, where he indulges himself in his hobby of inventing prospective "future gadgets" with his fellow lab members: With

him is his silly childhood friend Mayuri Shiina nicknamed Mayushii, a perverted hacker nicknamed "Daru.", and an upcoming famous scientist named “Makise Kurisu”. They have a machine which they call the "Phone Microwave," which performs the strange function of morphing bananas into piles of green gel. But soon after they find out that the Phone Microwave can send emails to the past, altering the flow of history.
So in short a time travel anime.
Out of all the subjects and concepts education has taught us, I think we all can agree that time travel is one of the most interesting. Whether you want to save a loved one, erase the embarrassing points of your life, or even to just relive your younger days. Time travel has the power to change all of that. But we don’t have the power of time travel and unfortunately we don’t even know if it actually exists. To us time travel is just like a dream, a piece of fiction. But to see that piece of fiction brought to life in an anime. Not to mention executing it well while teaching us concepts about time that we never would’ve thought of. And also maintaining its entertainment factor while surrounded by informative elements. That’s the greatness of Steins Gate.
People say that the first few episodes are very slow and boring, almost going so far as to call it filler but that’s not the case. Exploring deep into the story, the first few episodes is what even makes Steins Gate what it is today. Let me explain. Steins Gate’s first 10 episodes are basically introducing the characters and getting them together cooperatively. The plot is absolutely dependent on you caring about the characters, including the MC because when you actually take the time to understand their personalities especially in those first few episodes the anime has a higher chance in causing you to have a huge emotional investment in not just the characters but overall the story development and world building.
Also yes I do agree that most of the good parts of the series come in later but to actually experience those good parts, it’s vital to understand the first few episodes if that makes sense.
Talking about characters though, Steins Gate is one of the few anime to have multiple interesting personalities. Why I say this is because when it comes to most anime and manga too, most characters are part of a group, like the types of dere’s, shounen protagonist tropes, villain tropes etc etc. But with Steins Gate, its different. For example, take Okabe. He acts like a madman but is genuinely a normal caring dude on the inside. The only characters that I can think of like Okabe who are also mad scientists are Frankenstein from Soul Eater, Mayuri Kurotsuchi from Bleach, and The Doctor from Hellsing. And even those characters don’t come close to Okabe. You get the point though. Each person in Steins Gate is original, I look at Mayushii, Kurisu, Daru, Feyris most to all of the character personalities in Steins Gate is just unique.
Obviously coming from a time travel anime in which worlds change, Ima write about how perfect Steins Gate world building is.
Now given the fact that the anime’s narrative is presented very compactly you might wonder how Steins Gate can have one of the greatest world building. But to be honest it is because of this small-scaled world-building that drives the story and makes the character’s interactions with the people or world around them so well done. Steins Gate’s setting is placed in Akihabara which is a pretty well known district located in Tokyo. I actually did some research and I found out that Akihabara is considered by many to be the center of modern Japanese pop culture and it is a major shopping district for video games, anime, manga, electronics and basically any computer-related goods. So a weeb’s dream place indeed. Jokes aside though, it is pretty famous and even the bois, specifically speaking CdawgVA, The Anime man, and Gigguk have all gone there to shop and made videos while spending time there. But back to the point, the reason why this relates to Steins Gate is because since Akihabara is such a technological place, I feel that the scientific concepts shown in the anime suits the setting. Think about it: Science and Technology, it’s a perfect combination.
Though I think I said this before, Steins Gate is the only anime to ever teach me so much stuff in science and still make it very entertaining. Dr Stone is a great science anime too, don’t get me wrong but Steins Gate is different because it revolves around more dangerous mysteries rather than just trying to save a world from becoming rocks. If you really think about it Steins Gate was not fully unrealistic. I found out that even if Time is a mysterious subject, the developers still decided to take the time to provide the most real, accurate information regarding time that can still be found on the internet. For example Steins Gate told us information about world lines, and when I was researching about world lines and the other concepts that the anime was showing us, I found that both the anime and internet’s research had a lot of similarities so you can say that the developers used very evidence-based information in Steins Gate which is what makes it more realistic.

I am not a huge fan of sports anime, but i do watch the good ones. I was first skeptical of getting into this anime and even in the first 3 episodes I was still doubting this anime because I don't play baseball in fact I am a basketball player.
But then I reached the part where (Spoiler ahead) Mihashi meets Abe and they become friends. I have really never seen a friendship like this before. Let me give you a brief background: Mihashi is a socially anxious shy kid who thinks he is a failure in baseball, Abe motivates him and becomes best friends ... Oct 8, 2020
