Story: Trans kids growing up and going through puberty.
Actual story: Young kids being confused about gender identity because they don't fit their own gender's norms and attribuating it to not being their sex. Also, transgender girls being taken more seriously kinda, even though the kiddo isn't a trans girl but a crossdresssing boy.
It seems really liked and hyped, especially by the lgbt community, probably cuz there isn't anything else that is so openly ''trans'' with its story setting.
It's not a trans story though, so I don't get the praise for that specific aspect. It's a story about kids being confused and not conforming to
...
what people expect of them in term of gender roles rather. Which is good for japan since they are kinda uptight about it I've heard, but it's not a trans story in any way AT ALL.
Alternative translated mangas:
Hommonculus did the trans aspect way better, in less time, and it's not at all a ''trans story''. There also is I.S, an intersex manga which def isn't good, did a similar thing but way better. Even tasagore (or somthing) does a better job, with the trans guy (the trans girl is kinda meh) and that manga is WAY overhyped and really boring and archetypal (the boring part is my opinion, but it's def not 10/10 good at all objectively either). Only good trans story would be Kanojo ni Naritai Kimi to Boku. (so far, might suck with later chapters)
Ah and the zombieland one is supposed to have a transgirl in... I dunno, dropped the thing.
Pros:
-The art could be enjoyable for someone that likes cutesy/ more innoncent looking art. It's really simple but mostly well done.
-The concept that it aimed to achieve isn't common, even if the attempt is quite frankly really, really misinformed and not the reality of real transgender guys and girls. Kinda is what someone that doesn't know anything about it transgenderism would think trans is rather that a realistic story about the subject.
-The slice of life parts are fine if you remove the ''transgender'' component. It's about young kids being confused and lost with themselves.
Cons:
-Dreadful piss-poor trans representation (but it's a good crossdresser/gender noncomformity story I guess.)
-Characters are quite forgetable and could have been explored in better ways, and not with a trans angle, since it failed miserably in the aspect. The feel bland and charicatural, rather than complex and realistic.
So if you came hoping for a trans slice of life, honestly, don't bother at all. Unless you want to read what not to do about this topic.
If you came to see a crossdresssing and kids being vonfused about gender (more of a girly guy/ tomboy chick story dynamic), please go ahead and enjoy your reading time.
p.s.: sorry for any typos xd

Really bland feel to the manga and ''spaced out'' vibe. Not in a bad way though, it seems to have been the point.
Don't expect a ''cutesy romance BL'' thing, its more of a short but vague-ish story that was more realistic than the usual fluff and tropes and clichés of most BL. Lots of open ends, not much
I really enjoyed the vague, bland, boringness of the domestic life of two long-date friends (kinds friends). No overbearing fluff, not melodramatic scene of a random other guy being a romantic rival. Not much at all, but that was the point, again.
A down side would be that
...
the blondie overreaction a bit more than I would have excpected his character to, bu tit wasnt a too much of a melodrama either. And it would have work way better if it was two mangas instead of just one, because of the slow-paced nature of the story. Just wouldv'have been more effective.
As for the art is a bit inconsistent with the faces but overall well made and in a drafty style.
Overall Score: 9, though closer to 8 than 10.
(I'd have to re-read to make a better review with bullet points though, might do it eventually, might not. But its from memory from three weeks ago, so apologies for the shortness and the plainess of this review)

It's a very vile manga about child predators and grooming. It's a fairly good portayal of it, so it gets a good score.
It IS disgusting though. Don't expect a cute romance with a minor or ''uwu softness'' like you fujo weebs say. It is a tale of abus. And the abused not growing out of his love for his abuser.
Not sure if the author glamorizes it, but she kinda seem to. ''It's not disgusting, it's a different type of love'' or something like that is written in and said by another character. So I'm not sure,, but it's very likely.
Regardless, it is gross, disgusting and
...
sad.
(If it isn't the author's intent for the story, then I would give this a 4)

Barely any plot. It's all about ''let's fuck'' oh, and ''cool eyes, I wanna date you now, and have sex, Sex sex sex sex, cool eyes, sex''
Complete and utter waste of my time. Read if you like:
- mxm sex x1000
- Unusual art style
- Heterochromia
Things I liked/What there is to like:
-The artstyle. For the most part. The cool eyes dude was WAY too skinny even for a guy. And not in a realistic skinny way. In a female proportion way. Which was disappointing though, but the rest were pretty consistent and well proportioned;
...
-The original idea seemed good;
- I like unusual features. Like heterochromia, so that was a cool thing;
The cover is cool af. No bad mouthing from me here.
What I didn't like/What there is to not like:
-The uke was really feminine and unconsistent. Both in body and mind. And not in a ''believably feminine guy way''. He was a horny shojo fujoshi girl with a male body. It was weird and creepy;
-Uke body proportions were unrealistic and weird;
-The story was..... wait, there was a story? Oh yeah, clichés, sex, drama ''misunderstanding drama'', then more sex, than *oooh* edgy boy's got a gun. Why? No idea, it was out of nowhere.
-Character's personalities were dumb at best and unconsistent and unrealistic at worst. It was fine by bit, but mostly unbeareable to read unless you were in it only for the ''guys having sex'' bits. It doesn't stand as an actual story.
-Sex, sex and more sex without a point to it... it definetly was SOMEONE'S fetish, I wonder who....

This manga is one of a kind; it has an actual plot, compared to most yaoi mangas, and actual character development, which is also a rarity amongst the yaoi subgenre.
The first story is dark, but not overly and uselessly cruel or violent. It's sweet and simple (well, not sweet, but you get the idea). A unassuming priest chases a thief and ends up following him to a cult.
The second one is about a guy with a talking flower. I'll just let you read it without much else in mind.
Things I liked/What there is to like:
-The dark overtone is subtle yet effective in both stories
...
(more so in the first one). It is more of a psychological drama than a ''yaoi fetish'' book;
-It is an actual thing with a plot and characters that aren't tools for a fujoshi's fetish/mxm sex, etc. It felt like real people with real scenarios and growth. And they happened to be guys, not the other way around;
-The background characters seemed interesting and had some screentime (not that much though) other than being plot devices. They seemed like real people even with them not having much screen time. And they didn't seem like copy-paste random NPC character (you know the look);
-It's pretty bittersweet, but not overly dramatic in a unrealistic way. It isn't in your face annoyingly so about the sadness/tragedy of it all;
-The art is most definitely consistent, detailed and unique. Even the background have lots of details and don't feel like they were an afterthought;
-A weird point, but there are female characters. It's somehow pretty rare for female characters to be there in yaoi mangas,so I'm just saying it.
What I didn't like/What there is to like (because I believe everything should have their faults listed even when it's really good):
-The background characters could have had a bit more screen time and generally have been more developped;
-A longer and slower paced story (especially with the first one) would have made it infinitely better and more interesting. And more effective giving the dark and eerie tone of the manga;

Ah, the classic I groom a child and it's a very cute romance. I like it!
For everyone praising and loved it, the ''seme'' character is a child predator, you know that right? He's grooming the kid ya know what that is right? That is not particularly cute, you realize that? No?
Then picture this:
A little girl that is ''raised by wolves'' and not particularly taken care of by her legal guardian, to the point of her being violent to anyone. Then she meets with a very adult male and he gets to take care of her and starts a blooming romance, being flirted with
...
and sensually touched by the guy that should acting as her parent. Not send to child services. Not to a professional child psychologist. Just with this random guy that she met recently.
Nothing wrong here? Is that what you would want your child or yourself having to go through? It is? Then maybe don't get kids. Now go read/watch better BL mangas/animes that doesn't show a glamourized and normalized pedophile relationship. Yes, the kid is almost an adult now. But no, it is still not okay.
You do see it now? Well thank god, it is good you could realize that. Now go read/watch better BL mangas/animes that doesn't show a glamourized and normalized pedophile relationship. Yes, the kid is almost an adult now. But no, it is still not okay.
For everyone else:
A very good tale of child abuse, not doubt about it. It is creepy, and a good anime on how NOT to make a kid-adult relationship. But it's not in the tags or genre soooo... not a good show at all, and especially NOT a good cutesy romance.
It's a dark dark story of child grooming, manipulation and neglect parading as a cute Adult-Teen romance. Nothing less, nothing more.
Watch it with this in mind, or don't. And don't support it, watch it for free at the very least.
Oh, and I hate the ''uke'''s proportions, creepy af.
Conclusion: 2/10 for the sound design and general animation quality. These are the only good things about it.
