Spoiler warning just in case, I wont talk about the plot but I might talk about themes that are not really advertised in the synopsis, that surprised me positively.
I picked this up because I remembered seeing memes of the magician back in the day. I don't normally write reviews or even rate anime that much, but this one is an exception.
Everything sells you a romcom story. The first episodes are basically otome game/romcom parody (and the humor mostly stems from this for the rest of the anime). But behind the mask is a story of social anxiety, sexual abuse, loneliness, depression and bullying. Don't

get me wrong, the story has it comedic moments, but it does not try to mask the real issues with it. It treats for example sexual abuse much better than most anime, it is seen as something that can not only happen to everyone, but leaves scars to the victims. The author (or anime storyboard) respects the weight of the matter, and there is not a single joke made about sexual abuse or other issues many face in real life.
Animation is 10/10 most of the time, sound design, voice acting, art, characters. They are all 10/10. Everything else is pretty much a solid 9. There is a bit of filler scenes, but every episode felt like it deserved to be made.
