This season of Danmachi is significantly worse than the prequel in every conceivable way. The pacing is erratic, and the War Game arc was absurd [How could five people eliminate 200? And after three episodes of buildup, it concluded far too quickly. The entire premise was flawed from the start—are we supposed to believe that gods can casually chase each other down without consequence for no freaking reason? Wouldn't the whole town be in chaos if that were the case?]. Bell's sudden power-up was equally nonsensical. The Prostitute arc was somewhat better, it featured the only decent fight in the season too [Though, whose idea
...
was it to depict the fox girl as not actually engaging in prostitution? It undermines the whole arc's premise. Hermes is cool tho :). And of course, Bell doesn't want to sacrifice his own family for the sake of a wolf girl he just met the day before, Mrs. Big Prostitute Girl. OOPS, AFTER A MENTAL BREAKDOWN, HE ACTUALLY DOES!].
Also, does Bell now romantically love Hestia? Wasn’t he infatuated with Ais Wallenstein in the first season?
He’s still a fucking idiot as before, and Hestia is more annoying than ever. The writer's incompetence is painfully evident throughout. The show suffers from fundamental flaws at every turn—I could go on, but this is already getting long, so I’ll leave it there.
Yet, despite all its shortcomings, it was still fun to watch—and that, in the end, is one of the most important thing.
