Story (7)
This is quite the pure romance story. It is a well-made storyline with likeable characters that you want to root for. Only scored 7 for the story component since the story was not as well developed as I would have liked. Some of the story seemed contrived to force it to work, and there were lots of peripheral characters that lacked development and you did not know what they were there for, and it was not as smooth as it could have been (mostly due to only 3 episodes). So, Hina (the girl) met Yuuta (the boy) when he they

were very young, and she remembers it fondly, but he seems to not remember it. She is in love with Yuuta. Later, Hina and Yuuta run into each other in the hallway at school. Then, they keep having these short encounters and Yuuta is slowly remembering. Meanwhile, Hina sees Yuuta interacting with all sorts of other girls and it lowers her confidence. It also seems that some other girls in his school have taken an interest in him and now she sees that he has this attention from multiple girls. The anime conclusion is very positive and makes you feel good. Yuuta finally remembers it all. And just when you think Yuuta would not see Hina at the festival, they finally meet and declare their love for each other. For those who watch after the episode 3 credits, you can find the final scene of the story.
Art (5)
The artwork is dated with simple animations (to be expected with a 2003 product), but works out well with few visual distractions. The low artwork score was for the low-resolution recording and the lack of significant expression changes on character faces. The most complex animation was when a wind blew up Hina’s skirt (no, you do not see her panties).
Sound (7)
The music is average but positive. The lyrics (English translation at least) tells a nice story. The music was very nice, yet dated (reason for the less than 10 score for sound). There were nice ambient sounds of crowds, and the instrumental at the conclusion was a nice romantic melody.
Character (7)
The characters (other than the two main characters) are not developed as well as I would hope, but maybe that is the best you can do for only 3 episodes (24 minutes each). However, I grew to like the characters and became somewhat invested in them. The two main characters are Yuuta and Hina. Hina does not know what is going on when she sees the other girls Yuuta interacts with, and fears they are after his affections. The other girls do not seem to be traumatized by Yuuta and Hina being together, so they were never serious to begin with I suppose, but you do not know this when watching early in the story.
Enjoyment (7)
I certainly enjoyed the anime and looked forward to each episode—I did not have to force myself to watch it. I wanted to watch it. It surely seemed like a one-shot (although 3 episodes) and I was not pleased that there would likely not be any follow up anime to further develop the storyline and characters. I looked for the manga, but could not find it (if it exists). Since this is an anime that is based on a dating sim game, there may not be a manga (or at least not by this name). My one regret was that it was over and I had to say goodbye to the characters.
Overall (7)
Overall, I really liked it and recommend it. It is only 3 episodes and is not a huge investment in time. The best part is that the story, art, music and characters all fit together nicely and it is a positive romance, and we all need more of that in our world. I was not heavily invested in the story like in some other titles that are dozens of episodes, but it was well done. It is worthwhile to watch it. It is one of those stories that I will rewatch.
