This is one of the most budget gated shows of all time, and it's really obvious. I loved it, partly because I read the manga, but it's so obvious that this show was given a piss poor budget it is PAINFUL.
The dynamics and story of the show honestly are one of the isekai classics which is why I love it. Characters and their progressions are entertaining and engaging, and there aren't too many overly tropey ones throughout.

Honestly, as someone who enjoyed the manga, and isekai/fantasy in general, I'm quite disappointed.
Matthias' portrayal in this adaptation is completely off. While I'll admit I haven't read the novel, in the manga he's much more confident and has more of a personality that's a little snarky and just about getting on with it. In this adaptation, however, they've brought that down to make him more in line with a generic anime protag with no guts. Best way I'd summarize it is he's 20% more soy than in the manga.
