Upotte is an anime with beautiful premises that teaches us the importance of assault rifles, nah I’m just messing with you, Upotte is an anime cliché that has appeared in several other anime that came out during 2012. As you may have known, we are currently in a sort of era of anime that has lasted for over few years now, right after famous cute comedies such as K-On and Lucky Star came out, I call this era the moe era. In my opinion, Upotte is just one of those anime that try its best to be one of those cute comedy masterpieces, only adding
...
one different aspect that K-On and Lucky Star don’t have… assault rifles and another thing that we see oh so common in anime these days, fan service.
When I first watched Upotte, I felt as if I was transported to the last few years of my childhood where the big kid elementary schoolers were required to learn about the gloriousness of puberty. And if you don’t know, is not something most people my age probably enjoyed. Upotte ended up using the right amount of strange fan service to make me feel as if I was watching a puberty video on assault rifles, this time mixing the mysteries of the female body with the parts of a variety of assault rifles. As a result, my body was in no way ready and if I was a man, I would probably have as they call, “the weirdest boner right now.” That my friends were one of the most weirdest and perverted 25 minutes of my adolescence.
Now there was only one reason for watching this anime, and it was merely to increase the number of anime I watch. But I did something I totally regret when watching this anime, I used my brain. Upotte is an anime that does not require you to use any percentage of your brain in order to understand the plot which in a way is a pro and a con. So when I watched further and further of the anime I just turned off my brain and stared at my laptop probably looking like a hormonal boy when he stares at a girl in a bikini.
The first half of Upotte mostly focuses on getting to know the main characters in their comedic lifestyle as preteen girl guns. This of course may be quite hilarious and enjoyable for some people; however it was nothing to talk to your friends about. What I mostly enjoyed in this anime were the facts given to us on what type of guns these girls are, and as a result, I can now tell you useless information about the history of these guns. For example, the gun L85A1 was a defective gun created by Britain since they were so behind in military weaponry. Another thing I greatly enjoyed about this anime was its serious moments it has, they are small, but they give you goose bumps. Lastly, the most enjoyable thing about this anime was its childish way of introducing guns. Usually when you think of anime with guns, you’d probably think of a blood bath or maybe a war scene, but Upotte introduces these guns in a very fun and fresh way, while still having action packed moments.
The music in Upotte is relatively peaceful and upbeat, but it is definitely not the best. I didn’t find it to enjoyable and is most of the time skipable. The same goes for the art and animation as well, however, they did add a lot of small and extra details on the weaponry making it look intricate and amazing looking.
Upotte is one of those anime that are boring in the very beginning, but gets better and better as it progresses further into the story until we hit the climax and it just falls downhill from there, or we just don’t get a real ending where people are satisfied of the outcome. I honestly would not recommend this anime to anyone unless they just want to get some cheap laughs or if their bored out of their mind. But if you do plan to watch Upotte, don’t think. Lastly, I recommend that you do not watch this anime yet if you haven’t gone through puberty or have just started it.

The review will further be edited as more and more episodes are released.~
Of course the plot of Date A Live does seem promising and intriguing to a degree, but it was executed poorly. I was so intrigued with the first few minutes that I grew so disappointed when this anime shown me its true colors that I said and I quote, “Really? I feel so disappointed…” As a result, my sister who overheard me asked if I had a bad day at school and thought I was a freak for explaining why I said what I said. But Date A Live does have its merits
...
and it is actually very enjoyable in a way. The first few episodes may not have been as interesting but it gets better further into the story.
The problem I had with Date A Live was the whole making the spirit fall in love with you. I mean really this is technically the whole plot in a nutshell; some random highschool dude has to use the power of love to save humanity from getting destroyed by spacequakes! As if the whole power of love nonsense hasn’t been used in anime enough times already; ludicrous I tell you ludicrous. If I wanted to hear about the importance of love I’ll watch some romance anime or even a Korean drama and if I wanted to learn about the importance of friendship than I’ll watch My Little Pony. But to tell you the truth, I just wanted to see the action, is that too much to ask for? Can’t I watch one action scene where the lesson of love does not knock on my door? Guess not. My last and only complaint for this anime so far, can’t the pickup lines be less cheesy? In order for Shido to make the spirits fall in love with him a team of love experts was formed to help with decision making or as The World God Only Knows may call it, which route to take. But these so called love experts are what I would describe to be merely as people who FAIL at love, I mean seriously one of these so called love experts was a guy who married and divorced five times! If I wanted a team of experts, I would have hired Katsuragi Keima the god of harems to teach these so called love experts a thing or two about how to get some love points from a decent girl.
However, the one thing that I enjoyed the most about Date A Live was that it is still a better love story than Twilight (sorry couldn’t resist). What I liked the most was that the relationship development between the first spirit (named Tohka) and Shido didn’t feel so much as forced but had actually enough development between them to know that these two really do have feelings for each other. Their romance is not the best, but it’s acceptable and cute in a way. Another thing I enjoyed about the anime that it was pretty funny and to tell you the truth it made me laugh more than in actual comedy anime.
Date A Live works like a dating sim, it focuses on different heroines every few episodes, but there will always be only one true heroine that will end up with our hero. Date A Live, however, is not far enough in the story currently to make conclusions on who ends up with who. But in a way, Date A Live is unique in a way compared to other anime built up like a dating sim because of the special extras included in it. These extras include the action, the mechas, and maybe some added science fiction. Because of these special added extras Date A Live definitely has a nice appeal going for it proving that this kind of anime does not have to be set in a cliché setting in order to get some proper romance and development in it.
I will now commence in describing a few important characters in the story while adding a bit of my own personal opinion on each of them…
Shido Itsuka, the main protagonist of Date A Live, he is a Keima Katsuragi in training.
Tohka, the main heroine of the story, she was the first spirit saved by Shido, during the course of her arc she develops strong feelings for Shido. If anything were to happen to him, she will do anything to avenge him.
Origami Tobiichi, intelligent classmate of Shido who is athletic, "beautiful", and the most famous person in his school, she is part of the AST (organization that is sent to destroy spirits) due to the death of her parents caused by spirits.
Kotori Itsuka, Shido’s little sister, she is the commander of the organization Shido works for and harbors a split personality that changes depending on the situation. She goes from a sweet loving stereotypical little sister to a sadistic leader when her personality switches.
Yoshino, the second spirit saved by Shido, she is extremely shy and uses a rabbit puppet named Yoshinon in order to communicate with others and to let out her true feelings.
The opening song of Date A Live has to be one of my favorites its one of the only few anime openings that I won’t ever skip, the song was sung by sweet ARMS. There are two endings for the anime currently known as “SAVE THE WORLD” and “SAVE MY HEART” they are both relatively above average endings but not the best. The art for Date A Live is nothing special, it’s not the best and not the worse. The art does not have any special graphics or artistic effects like Bakemonogatari or ef- a tale of memories. But the art has fluid animation and great backgrounds and coloring so I’ll give it that.
The first two episodes of Date A Live, I have to admit, made me almost want to drop the anime all together, but I’m glad I was able to give it one last chance. As the anime’s storyline got better I got used to the misconceptions it gave me at first, that the anime would primarily focus on romance and use its plot as backup, but overtime I learned that the plot was actually getting somewhere and all, I think. I would recommend this anime for people who greatly enjoy visual novel adaptations with a mix of action, fantasy, and much more. So far this anime isn’t what you’d rate a very good just yet in my opinion, but I feel that it will only get better in the future.

Every Detective Conan movie has its own pros and cons. One movie can leave a negative or positive impact on you depending on the contents of it. However, combining all sixteen movies of Detective Conan will most likely create an overall masterpiece. The reason for this is because DC does not just use mystery as its ONLY genre, a multitude of different genres such as romance, adventure, and perhaps even comedy are found within. Another thing to point out is that each DC movie concentrates on a certain theme such as video games, architecture, and sports.
On with the review~
Story:
As I have mentioned before each DC
...
movie contains a certain theme to it. The last movie, for example, contained a theme pertaining to pirates, while this movie contains a theme relating to classical music which has absolutely no relation to its predecessor which is quite unique in its own way.
The movie itself, in my point of view, is much faster paced compared to past DC movies. Each important event or crime as you may call it happens much quicker compared to the other movies which can be a downfall in its own way, but it doesn’t matter since we get a small glimpse of pretty girls singing opera house music to Beethoven. *shot*
This movie, like all other DC movies just gives us a small glimpse of how dangerous the real world can be; how one simple event can turn a person into a total psycho. This movie perfectly explains and personifies how even the most beautiful of music can cause the most shocking of events.
However, with this movie’s plot, it could have shown much more potential; maybe adding a bit more spice would have made this movie one of the best of the best of the DC movies.
Music:
Of course, this DC movie being about classical music, it’s only natural to hear some beautiful peaceful and relaxing music. But this movie did something more than add that to our plate, we also hear resonating pieces of two very different classics one being, “Amazing Grace” and the “Ave Maria” each one sung beautifully and naturally by a very young and beautiful, perfectly pitched young woman. This movie also managed to make the music sound even most enjoying even though on the outside of that beautiful performance, something deadly and horrific is happening. To sum it all up in one go, this movie has classical music with a BOOM!
Art:
For the past 16 years of Detective Conan’s airing we have seen an increase of better animation compared to when it first came out in 1996. This being the 12th movie of the DC franchise its only plausible to know that this animation is so much more better compared to when the 1st movie came out in 1997! The animation has improved so much that animators are even adding some 3D moments! It just goes to show how technology has advanced over the years.
Characters:
I would describe each character, however, it would be pointless seeing as how the opening sequence of this movie will just explain the main man himself, Edogawa Conan and some other supporting characters which help attribute to the movie’s events. So I will just introduce one character, who only appears in this movie as the main heroine to help move the detective story along.
Akibe Reiko is by all means a prodigy in my eyes, who first appears in this story as what I would describe to be a stereotypical celebrity snob who in all cases thinks she’s better than everyone else. With looks which could put America’s Next Top Model to shame and a voice so glorious that it would have made Beethoven regain is hearing, she is by all means an angel created by the Gods of Anime! At first she may seem like a total bitch, but than through the course of this movie we learn a few things about her and find out that she’s like a tsundere; tough and rotten on the outside yet fluffy and sweet on the inside.
Enjoyment:
I enjoyed listening to the classical music of this movie because it was wholeheartedly different from your usual DC heroic themed soundtrack. It’s nice to experience something new once in a while after all. However, I’ll be honest, I was a bit bored. This movie felt like it was just dragging on and on that I even found doing my AP History Homework much more enjoyable than the movie itself! And that’s saying something! But I ask that even if this movie isn’t going to be the best, please don’t ignore it, especially if you’re a fan of Detective Conan! Who knows, maybe you might watch this and think to yourself, “What the hell is this woman saying? This movie is by all means a masterpiece!”

“My name is Hoshiyama Ichigo. I’m your ordinary first year middle school student. Back then, I would have never imagined that I, me, someone like me could become an idol!”
Story (7/10)
Aikatsu short for Aidoru Katsudou! (Idol Activities) is a collectible card game created by Bandai which revolves around using cards featuring various designer clothes to help aspiring idols make their dreams come true. The story tells of Hoshiyama, Ichigo as she slowly rises to the top with her best friend Kiriya, Aoi and new member of the group *drum rolls* Shibuki, Ran. I know what you’re thinking… “Not another anime about idols.” Which I can
...
totally understand, since we already have the second season of Pretty Rhythm out. (Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future) So I could totally understand if you decide to skip the whole entire series. However, to tell you the truth the anime isn’t half bad. To be honest, I truthfully enjoyed it since it contained a brand of pure innocence I haven’t seen in a shojo anime. When I watched the anime it felt as if I’ve been taken eight years into the past to when I fondly enjoyed cartoons like Power Puff Girls and Totally Spies. What a very nostalgic feeling it was. Anyway, if you’re looking for an anime that will make you feel like a seventy year old woman mesmerizing and remembering the glory years of her childhood than I highly recommend this anime to you. Overall if you plan on watching this anime I guarantee that bits and pieces of your childhood will start to sing.
Characters (8/10)
Ichigo Hoshiyama is your normal first year middle school student who has the aura of an idol. At first she didn’t have any big dreams like becoming an idol, no not at all, she only wanted to inherit her mother’s bento shop, but that all changed when she went to Kanzaki Mizuki’s concert. The bright and blinding lights, the shouts and screams of fans everywhere, the garish attire of idols, and the beautiful melody coming from the speakers; a whole different world compared to Ichigo’s life. “Why is everyone cheering? Why are there so many lights? I’ve never seen anything like this before in my entire life!” Those were the thoughts of young Ichigo as she looked around the entire complex of the concert mesmerized by each and every angle. Everywhere she turned seemed to look like some strange machine she had never encountered before. She was dumbfounded.
Kiriya Aoi, Ichigo’s best friend, is an idol expert in every way; she knows everything there is to know about idols including their history and their music. Aoi is the definition of a true friend and will do whatever it takes to achieve her and Ichigo’s dreams of becoming well known idols.
Shibuki, Ran is a professional idol who has been in the industry at a young age. At first, she hides her true feelings and emotions in front of all her classmates through a mask that is haunted by the past memories of a former roommate and friend. With the help of Ichigo and Aoi, however, she is able to slowly open up her feelings and become very close friends with them in due time.
There is a substantial and appropriate amount of character development throughout the series so far, which slowly help develop strong relationships between characters through particular meetings and events. With only a matter of less than ten episodes you could easily tell that through each episode there is proof of a growing friendship.
Art (8/10)
A bit of sugar, spice, and everything nice (PPG reference) will brightly describe the cuteness of this anime’s art style. This art style grabs the watcher with its absolutely adorable appealing scenery, character design, and attire. The art style may be a bit irritating, however, since it switches from 2D to 3D very similar to the way Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream did. Hey, at least the anime does not pointlessly switch from 2D to 3D like The Best!! Extremely Cool Student Council President did with its awful art design and its pointless switches from 2D to 3D every few minutes. The way Aikatsu used 2D and 3D is a great way of adding a bit of POP to the singing and dancing of the characters. The anime also uses a variety of bright colors such as shades of pink and purple adding to the anime's overall light hearted feeling. Rarely or will it ever use any dark and shady colors in this anime since it's far from the anime's original intention of creating an innocent daily life of an idol.
Music (9/10)
“Hi Signalize! The answer lies on the other side of the sky…” The opening of this anime uses a bit of fresh elements of calming and yet POPPING rhythms. It uses its own unique characteristics which make the anime different from other shojo openings. “Sunday, Monday, Chu-Chu Tuesday. Everyday I’m flipping pages like a calendar girl” The ending is absolutely amazing with an overall classic feel of a very old setting adding elements of the 1900s and cuteness using a gramophone record and chibi creations. Even the ending song uses an old pop feeling when I hear and see it making it one of my favorite anime endings. The voices of the characters are in no way dark and serious, these seiyuus do an excellent job of adding an innocent and cute atmosphere to the anime. One thing that best surprises me is that Morohoshi, Sumire a 12 year old seiyuu is voicing the main character. Overall she’s an excellent choice since she has the perfect voice for her.
Enjoyment (7/10)
The anime is so innocent in every way. It felt wonderful to feel like a youngster again just by watching this anime. It is so childish and so far it doesn’t capture the several harsh realities of the world which can be both a pro and con in its own way. I greatly recommend this anime to people who enjoy watching shows like Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream and who just want to escape the adult world and feel like a kid, rejuvenated by this anime’s childish and cute atmosphere. But of course this anime is also a good way to just unwind yourself from all the stresses and cruel gifts of this world. Grab a cup of hot chocolate milk with some of those adorable tiny marshmallows and watch this anime... who knows you might feel like your in Candy Land.

Story
Otana Ni Nuts is definitely a strange manga that tells the story of a young 5th grade girl who only dreams of becoming a woman, and when I mean woman I mean the whole deal like, boobies, looks, and everything, mostly the sexiness though. The young heroine Natsumi, spins around adoringly in front of her mirror posing like the models from ‘America’s Got Talent,’ while saying her ideal line “sexy” with apples on her breasts to make them look like the sexy grown up boobies (mine are kind of small though). The manga explores the hardships in which little kids’ face, such as having
...
little to no respect, and or not being able to receive some special gift. As a result of facing these sorts of hardships, Natsumi steals a bag of peanuts that are meant for adults only and eats them and than bing bam boom, the next morning she wakes up with the body of a beautiful teenage girl (If I say anymore it’ll be a spoiler)! Well anyway, I personally do love the plot of this whole manga even though it does sound strange at first. I do admit that I was a bit skeptical to read this manga due to its overly weird synopsis which this website provided, but you’d be very surprised to know that it could be quite enjoyable to those shojo fans out there. However, this manga is indeed far from what you’d call a masterpiece, just from reading the first few chapters of this manga I could easily tell the flaws of it. But the number one flaw that will always bother me is the fact that this manga is a bit too fast paced to the point where we’re hearing multiple proposals (not telling what kind) in just a few chapters.
Characters
I absolutely felt no emotions towards the characters in this manga whatsoever which is quite strange due to the fact that I’m quite judgmental when it comes to the characters of anime and manga. For some strange reason throughout reading all four volumes of this manga I felt no specific emotion except for enjoyment, but the enjoyment didn’t feel right, it felt sort of empty. Perhaps you could call it a sense of artificial enjoyment if there was such a thing that exists. The manga concentrated on a total of three characters: Natsumi, Asuma, and Yuunosuke. Natsumi is our main heroine, who is probably no different from any other heroine in the shojo industry today. The only features, I believe that are quite uncommon in other shojo heroines if the fact that Natsumi is probably is the only girl to have ever wished for something purely childish as to grow up and be that sexy lady she dreams to be. The main male protagonist is Asuma Yaneyama, who is known to be very close friends with Natsumi. Our next character is Morinomiya Yuunosuke the handsome doctor who is the creator of those life-changing nuts.
Art
The art of this manga is definitely not impressive, fantastic, enchanting, or OMFG THIS IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! In fact, I found the quality of art to be somewhat amateur compared to the many other types of anime/manga art in the entertainment industry of Japan. I felt as if the characters were too skinny and were a bit disproportionate compared to the usual shojo style, but I must say that I did find the art a bit interesting and such. Sometimes it’s okay to see something different for once, makes the whole story a bit of interest. I have come to understand that Otana Ni Nuts were one of Haruka Fukushima’s earlier works which only excites me more to see the other shojo manga she has written.
Overall
There were a few things that I thought of while reading this manga: If I had the chance to grow up 10 years into the future would I? Would the reasons differ from each person? Personally if I had the chance to be in adult for about eight hours than I would seize that chance, besides don’t we all need a little adventure in our lives? I would recommend Otana Ni Nuts to anyone who enjoy shojo and who question the chance of becoming an adult for one day.

My sister and I are huge Zatch Bell fans, and we were extremely happy to find out that there was a movie on it. We both happily watched the movie with high expectations and glorifying hope that this movie will be one of the best movies we will ever watch. However, we were both disappointed on its overall outcome. "Zatch Bell Movie: Unlisted Demon 101" is an overall cliche movie that I feel will most likely leave its fans a feeling of disappointment. Indeed I will admit that I have watched several other anime movies and thus could easily compare and contrast which one
...
has left a better impact on its viewers, but I believe that even a person who has no experience of watching several anime movies, such as my sister, could easily have known or thought that the creators could have done a way better job in the movie's creation.
Story:
There is nothing remarkable about this movie's plot yet nothing bad about it either. I just found it uninteresting is all. The movie starts off with a normal girl named Kotoha who has no knowledge whatsoever on the momodo/demon world, but is somehow whisked away by it by the main antagonist who is filled with hatred, jealousy, and all those other negative emotions and the strange golden haired boy we all know as Zatch or Gash. One problem I found in this movie is that the creators did not put in too much effort when trying to make the movie a masterpiece that will make the people watching it go “OMFG THIS SO FRIGGIN AWESOME, I’VE NEVER SEEN SO MUCH EPICNESS IN MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!” Instead it probably made them go “I guess it was okay, but they could have done way better job.” The movie also failed miserably on outlining the overall message or life lesson as you may call it. I felt as if the creators only had the idea of making the whole fighting scene cool by adding some ignoramus flashy creature to finish the whole movie off with a BANG; however a movie does not need some weird looking powerful creature to make it interesting, but maybe a simple message to tell each viewer that we do not need some out of this world power to defeat the problems that may come our way, but the help of our friends to guide us to the right directions in which life may take each one of us.
Art & Music:
There was nothing wrong with the art or music of the whole entire movie. Nope, nothing wrong with it at all. Sure the creators could’ve done a better job at the movie’s art, but the art is the way it was in the TV version, and we all know that Zatch Bell’s art is not the greatest. Same with the music, there was absolutely nothing special with it, it was just plain average. If you were expecting a bunch of the Zatch Bell seiyuus to walk on the red carpet gallantly to get the “Number 1 Voice Actors Award” than I’m sorry to say this, but these voice actors did none of that! These voice actors just did what their supposed to do, their job!!!
Characters:
Throughout the rest of the movie it mainly concentrates on Zatch and Kyo which I count it to be as one of the movie's mistakes. Of course, it makes perfect sense that the two main characters should have most screening time, but I believe they shouldn’t take about 80% of the screening time! We don't even get to see Kanchome, Ponygon,Tia, and their partners that much, we only get to see them about 4% of the time! The villain, I believe, needed much more screen time. The movie didn’t fully express the feelings of anger the main antagonist was supposed to feel, as a result, we have a villain who is just there to add some difficulty for Zatch and Kyo. You may think that’s what all villains are for, but I like to think that a villain needs more than just some evil attitude to be a villain, I do not know what other qualities villains should have, but perhaps it has something to do with the way it is expressed. Lastly, I didn’t see an appropriate amount of any character development for any of these characters, not even Zatch or Kyo who are the main characters of this whole dang movie showed some signs of noticeable growth till the last few ending scenes.
Enjoyment:
Oh how do I express all the emotions I felt for this movie? Oh yes, uninteresting, apathetic, boring, cliché, and all those other adjectives used to describe the feelings of boredom more fancifully. During the whole movie I was bored, absolutely bored! I thought this movie might make my spirits bright where I will sing a song of praise to thank the heavens for taking away my boredom, but instead it just made me even more bored. I even yawned a couple of times, and nearly fell asleep just to express my overall boredom to this movie. Sadly this movie was a waste of my time, and I kind of regret wasting about 1 hour and 25 minutes of my life. I greatly apologize to all those who thought this movie was an absolute masterpiece, however I am allowed to express my feelings and therefore will in this review which took me over an hour to write.

(Note: This review is for both season one and two of Sasami Magical Girls Club.)
Shall I take you into the mystical world of “Sasami: Mahou Shoujo Club”? A world in which both humans and witches have lived in peace and harmony, until that fateful day when humans had betrayed them and cast them away for their abnormal powers. The witches had no choice, but to build a new world, separate from the human world, where they lived in that world to reclaim the peace and harmony that was once theirs. But some witches have stayed in the human world for several purposes: family, friends, and
...
more. However, in order to stay in their world they had no other choice, but to never use their powers again. As a result, their powers grew weaker and weaker where it seemed as if they never had them to begin with. Soon hundreds and hundreds of years have passed and than for some strange reason, a few children all over the human world have discovered these powers. However, it is unknown if these powers are for good or evil, should these powers be ridden of for all eternity in which the same event shall not be repeated in years to come, or is this a chance for humans to finally come and accept these creatures again? There’s only one way to find out!
Plot:
“Sasami Magical Girls Club” is an anime about five girls, but they’re not your normal girls, each of these girls has wondrous powers which are special and unique in their own way. Usually in a magical girl anime you’d expect them to go battle some evil bad guys, however these girl s don’t have to do such a task. They usually just go on some weird adventures and such, and the whole season are mainly these girls slowly learning about the witch world and magic lots and lots of magic. So if I were to put it in a nutshell, I sometimes feel that the whole season are just plain fillers, I mean some of these episodes are just pointless, I feel like they’re not even needed in the anime in any way, only to teach us those cliché anime lessons about how much friendship is extremely important. During the last few episodes of the anime, the series grew some big boy underpants because it finally started rising up to the climax.
Season 2 is a continuation of season 1, only a tad bit more serious and interesting. It does start off a bit more slow, but later on in the series; I promise you it gets much more interesting because these girls finally have their first evil villain which I was very excited about because I like to believe that in an anime such as this one, it needs an antagonist to add as an obstacle for the magical girl group. The rest of Season 2 is pretty much cliché in a way to put it because I’ve seen this sort of development often in a magical girl anime. Its ending was somewhat to be expected though I could clearly tell that these producers could have given us a better ending.
Art:
The art style is nothing to die for which is a definite fact. It uses the kodomo art style which is a heavily popular style of manga, and possibly the most popular character type of anime. The kodomo art style, I must say is a perfect fit for this anime because it enraptures the cuteness needed to fully display the overall effect and maybe even potential the series has. The anime uses a large amount of colors which I really like about the whole art style because it uses the unrealistic hair colors I haven’t seen in a while, you know like weird and out of this world hair styles that can only exist in anime and manga. The art style does a great job of expressing the mood of the whole anime which are just a bunch of mixed feelings for me that is nothing special. One of my favorite things about the way the characters were drawn was their eyes, they were really adorable, and I just couldn’t stop looking at them.
Sound:
“Make a wish and ride with, me into the moonlight.” The opening of this anime was how do I describe it? Oh yes magical, so magical that if you just close your eyes while listening to the music, you will imagine that you are flying on shooting stars. Yep, I love the opening of this anime so much that its one of the top 20 openings in my opinion. The anime, I believe uses uncommon background music we rarely hear in anime because it uses those old effects we see in cartoons like “popping” and that sort of thing. The anime still needed appealing background music though to better add the mood of the events occurring throughout the show. I believe if the anime had some special sound effects or more official sound tracks than I bet I would have rated the anime a little higher maybe up to an 8.
Characters:
In an anime of the “Magical Girl” genre, I usually tend to love all main characters. However, season one of this anime took a different approach to teamwork which I can tell you is not a compliment in anyway, actually I believe it to be one of the many downfalls of this anime is its characters which leaves me and probably some of its other viewers a feeling of slight disgust in some of these main characters. The problem I have with this anime is that two of the five main characters, leave me with the impression that their bullies when their supposed to be one of the good people. When I watch this anime, I see these two girls each and every episode insult the main heroine calling her ‘stupid’ and some other insults which I find so revolting, even if it was meant to be a joke, they take it too far by insulting her each and every episode, even counting her as being the ‘fifth wheel’ of the whole entire Magical Girl group! Even though the creators try their very best to showing the viewers that these two girls are not that bad, and that they actually care about the whole Magical Girl group, it does little to no help in changing my opinion to the characters. Another problem I saw while watching this anime was that the creators didn’t do a good job of showing the girls grow closer, or get to know each other better. I didn’t see much interaction between all the five girls when it came to getting to know each other; it was like they were already best friends when they’ve only known each other for a day. By the time the “Sasami Magical Girls Club” reached its second season was when I can finally understand that these girls really have grown to love each other a lot. Unlike season one, the anime finally dug up a hole and found gold because now the viewers can finally see the characters get to know each other more and more.
Enjoyment:
I originally watched the anime on 2009, three years after it came out, however dropped it because I had gotten extremely bored with the first six episodes that I actually yawned a couple of times and ended up daydreaming while trying to listen to what the fudge was going on. So yes, I was bored even after rewatching the series. There were absolutely no moments where I felt like this anime was actually worth watching, but I did get confused, very confused. “Wait, what the, why is, isn’t that, but I thought she was the mai- OH WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!” Pretty much that was what I was saying for some parts of the anime. There were also some times when I got jealous for some romance parts, yes there is some romance in this anime, I guess you could call it that. All I know is that the romance was so cute and adorable that I imagined my crushie doing that with me… OTL If only he would do that, but sadly, not all boys are as so sweet as to act as gentlemen.

“Um, m-marriage is where your life goes to drink.”
When I first saw this anime while browsing for brand new anime releases, this anime came into view. My first thoughts… Probably just one of those cliché anime comedy romances. Well I got the comedy romance part right, but the cliché part I couldn’t have been any more wrong. Forgive me Otaku God for calling this anime cliché *goes on hands and knees* The jokes are quite fresh and new, and the romance is so adorable your most likely going to die from potential blood loss coming out of your nose.
Plot:
The plot is
...
quite simple beyond beliefs; there is no complexity about it in anyway. Even a five year old can understand it. The anime is about the love between two high schoolers, and what fate awaits them. Well to put it simply all you’re watching is Io and Tsumiki’s relationship grow each and every episode, while at the same time, watching the other characters bug the heck out the both of them, mostly Tsumiki though. Even though this anime requires no extreme thought into understanding what the fudge it’s about, this anime is probably the only anime of its kind that has a perfect way of displaying plot development. Each and every episode, it shows a subtle amount of growth in a relationship from grabbing onto a coat to feeding your lover a spoonful of delicious goodness. This anime just isn’t about romance though; it also does a heck of a good job of making me choke from the amount of laughter produced. Sure not every part of this anime is so funny that it’s enough to make Grumpy from Snow White laugh, but hey I betcha a quarter that he would sniffle a giggle. Which means, whether you’re a Happy or a Grumpy you’re definitely going to laugh, giggle, snort, or even nose bleed when watching this comedy romance filled Heaven!
Characters:
Soon to be lovers, Io and Tsumiki are the ideal anime couple of 2012 with their excellent way of showing character development! Each and every episode, one way or another, shows some tiny sign of character development which is definitely one of Acchi Kocchi’s proud strong points. Their budding relationship is so cute that it even puts Kamichama Karin’s Kazune and Karin’s adorable relationship to shambles! Now why don’t we highlight the extraordinary features of these soon to be lovers? Tsumiki is not your average tsundere, unlike most tsunderes she has that cool and collective attitude that boys go crazy for, however that’s not all; she has her cute side too which proves it with those kawaii cat ears that pop up now and again. Tsumiki is also a fantastic cook, adorable singer, and a super strong woman. There’s no doubt that she’s the ideal woman for most men! Now last but not least let us introduce the one the only, Io Otanoshi! Io may be quite oblivious to many things, but he makes up for it with those devilish good looks and charm that the Gods and Goddesses of Anime had blessed him with. Io like Tsumiki, is also a fantastic cook, but that’s not all, he’s also got the skills of a ninja! He’s every woman’s dream man! But that’s not at all, Acchi Kocchi also has Hime Haruno our nose bleeding princess, Sakaki the awesome pevert who is strangely similar to Yohei Sunohara, and Mayoi Katose the strange girl with a knack for technology.
Art:
If there is one thing I have learned from watching countless anime shows with a variety of different and yet unique art styles, I have come to the conclusion that the art style used in an anime should somehow fit the plot and genre of the anime. For example, in a horror anime, you need a somewhat mysterious and dark feel which will cause the hearts of its viewer a feel of slight uneasiness. In this case, however, you have a romance comedy anime with its goal being to somehow cause the hearts and souls of its viewers a feeling of relaxation, happiness, laughter, and adoration. To successfully put all these wonderful feelings together the animators had used an art style similar to that of Lucky Star’s. However, that is not all; the animators had also used graphics, effects, and the hearts and souls of those who love cute things too not only woo their viewers into a zombie like state in which people will stare adoringly at their computer screen, but also a near death experience where the viewer’s soul have somehow died and gone to a world of pure bliss.
Music:
“I don’t know anything about the meaning of love; I just want to look at you all the time.” That my anime friends are a small part of the cutesy lyrics to the anime’s opening “Acchi de Kocchi de.” Like most openings to animes the lyrics somehow in some way relate to the anime’s plot, cutesy and romantic for this one. The voice actors used in this anime are in no doubt, specialists. These seiyuus had successfully and utterly pulled down the red carpet and walked dazzlingly across it smilingly handsomely at all those other rejected seiyuus and said, “Tough luck kids, maybe next time.” Very unbelievable if I do say so myself that a few voice actors could be as so professional as to pull off the stupidity, cuteness, embarrassment, and all those other fanciful adjectives I type randomly just to make this paragraph longer. “If I grin and nyaa, I’ll know you’ll scratch my back.” And that was just extremely adorable lyrics to the anime’s ending song "Te wo Gyu Shite ne” which is just as adorable and pleasant as Tsumiki with her cat ears which I know most people are as so tempted to pull.
Enjoyment:
If there is one thing I wanted to do after watching episode one of this anime, it was to dance around in my underwear like a strange lunatic while smiling and listening to anime music. If you are wondering if I have problems than yes, yes I do. But that does not change the fact that this anime is so wonderful that every Otaku will get up and scream of joy, while watching Tsumiki go moe on them! I also got into the strange habit of saying cat like things; I have the strange urge to do so. But yes if you want me to get right into the point than yes, yes I 100% did enjoy watching this anime, so much that I want to dance happily in my own little world where my crush will someday pat me in the head lovingly and feed me a spoonful of food. My gosh, I’m sure every girl wants their crush to do that to them! Don’t worry ladies, I’m sure someday your prince will come.

“Tasogare Otome x Amnesia” tells the story of Kanoe Yuuko, a beautiful ghost girl who mysteriously died a gruesome death many years ago. When I first heard of this anime, I thought immediately that it would be a very interesting anime to watch, since I was really into horror stories and such. However, when I think about it, I believe I overestimated the anime a bit. You may hate me when I say this which may automatically make you press that “Not Helpful” button, but either way I will say it. While watching the first five episodes of “Tasogare Otome x Amenisia,” I find
...
it a bit cliché; it was technically just your subtle anime with a few laughs, and a bit of mystery and horror mixed into it.
Plot:
“Dusk Maiden of Amnesia” definitely seems like an acceptable anime with the little plots, synopsis, and summaries written about it. Ultimately, it is your normal anime with a dark feel, and a lot of comedy and romance latched onto it. However, the anime mostly contains comedy and romance which I find it to be quite ironic. Usually the summaries written about this anime give you the feel of horror and mystery, but when you watch the episodes you see too much romance. The only times you have a feeling of horror and mystery into it is when you see the Paranormal Investigation Club trying their very best to find clues about Yuuko’s death, or when Yuuko is pretending to be a ghost just to scare the crap out of the main characters which is only a total of four. Lastly, the anime is way too fast paced, I kept on getting confused on like how much time has passed during the anime. To summarize it all up, I believe “Dusk Maiden of Amnesia” does a terrible job at showing any type of plot development because it gives me the feel that it is mainly concentrating on showing the relationship between Yuuko and Teiichi.
Characters:
The main characters in this anime either show an advanced character development or an extreme lack of character development. The characters Yuuko and Teiichi are seen throughout this anime 80% of the time. I believe these two show too much character development because in just a short amount of time they already act like lovers who’ve been together since childhood or something. The problem with this is that you see the same scene almost all the time: Yuuko seducing Teiichi, Yuuko making fun of Teiichi, Yuuko touching Teiichi, Teiichi touching Yuuko, and both of them all lovey dovey. I love romance and all, but this is too much, I mean in just the first day they meet and you already see them on top of each other, it’s too much of a fast development for me. The other main characters Momoe and Kirie are pretty much shown 20% of the time throughout the whole entire series; they barely receive any amount of screen time which results into barely any character development. As a result, I believe the creators only made them to act as ‘extra’ club members.
The other problem I have with this anime is that it lacks background characters. I understand perfectly well that background characters are not that important to the anime, but seriously throughout the whole anime you just see four characters and their all the main characters! I don’t know if you understand this, but minor and background characters may not be that important to an anime, however when you see the same characters every episode, and no other characters at all, you slowly understand that minor and background characters play the crucial role of making it seem more realistic to the viewer. I mean think about it, if you were a person trying their very best to find clues to some death at a school than you expect to see some people who know some information about it, or at least you see just some random people off into the distance chatting about God knows what! But this anime doesn’t have any of that, just four characters in some big ass school. This anime takes place at a school, and at a school you have students, teachers, and all those other people, but there aren’t any of them around in this anime; it makes me think to myself “Where the hell are the other students? I mean I’m only seeing four characters the whole entire time, doesn’t anybody go to this school?” The only time I saw some actual background characters in this anime so far was on episode five, even if it was just a little bit it made me feel happy to know that some other people actually exist in this anime.
Art:
The art style of this anime seems like the only darn thing that is 100% perfectly fine! Even though the plot is all messed up, the art is like the only thing that makes me give this anime a decent score of 7 out of 10. The colors used in this anime were so pretty it makes me feel like I’m looking at some painting. The animation was also very well done it had a great use of graphics and effects. Yep art perfect in every way. Indeed the background artists could do a bit more better job at making the backgrounds seem older to give the overall anime feel a bit of pizzazz, but it’s still fine just the way it is. Oh and did you guys know that the people who drew this anime did a great job at showing some fan service? Well now you know, so if you like these sort of animes with fan service than you might actually think “Holy crap, I’m in Heaven.”
Sound:
Seems okay, I have no problems with the voices used in this anime nor the opening and ending songs of the anime. Though I don't know why, but both opening and ending songs didn't seem to attract much attention to me, I didn't really like them that much, but I still thought it was good for the whole mood. The only thing that needs fixing is the better use of background music to better add the mood of the events occurring throughout the show. If the anime had some special sound effects or my favorite, motivational music than I bet I would have rated the anime a little higher maybe up to a 7.5 if that option existed in MyAnimeList.net, I wish it did, it would make my reviews a lot more accurate.
Enjoyment:
My overall enjoyment to “Tasogare Otome x Amnesia” was definitely nothing special, I pretty much thought that it was boring. I didn't feel any type of suspense in this anime, no chair gripping, hair biting, mommy I’m scared moments. It was just me sitting there, staring at the computer pretty much bored out of my mind watching Yuuko and Teiichi have some fun. Some parts in the anime did make me awe in adoration or laugh out loud towards the characters or some moments happening in it. Though I mainly just felt bored throughout the whole thing. I did feel a bit of jealously watching this anime since Yuuko and Teiichi’s relationship together seem so perfect, they rarely have any arguments and such or some difficult obstacles they have to face in order for them to be together forever or something like that. I mean throughout the anime their always together, their love just seems perfect and all with no strings attached. God, you don’t know how much I want a relationship like theirs; just watching them all lovey dovey makes me feel like I’ll be forever alone.

"Huh, where the hell is this place?"
The whole plot of Weiss Survive is a story about a boy named Takeshi who is whisked away into a world where he is forced to play a card game with his childhood friend Michi who is an absolute tsundere. With this anime being two minutes each, it does a fairly well job at explaining the story, however this anime is too quick paced and at times I don't understand what the hell is going on. Basically each episode is like a roller coaster slowly rising to the finishing point. The anime does an amazing job at keeping
...
its viewer from dropping the whole thing like a bag of trash, but it can somewhat be boring to watch. Weiss Survives tries its very best at making the whole anime a total comedy act, while adding a touch of fan service and a tiny hint of seriousness. Even though the the storyline of Weiss is not the best, the people who drew this anime must have been fantastic manga artists because they did an extremely good job at creating the animation. It had exceptional effects throughout the entire anime. Its perfect use of shadowing, coloring, and detailing makes the art quite a sight for sore eyes. Well, I cant say much about the sound category because there really is not music or background music throughout the anime, theres not even the opening or ending intro, just plain old anime thats 2 minutes each. Well there was a very small music video in the anime that lasted about 15 seconds, but the singing was absolutely horrid to my ears. The characters main characters in Weiss Survive are Takeshi, Michi, and a peverted old man. Takeshi is often known as the "chosen warrior" amongst the people he battles along the way, he is your normal teenage boy who easily gets 'excited.' Michi is your average tsundere who is of course flat chested because you cant have a real tsundere without them having small boobies! And like all tsunderes she often abuses Takeshi in each episode. The peverted old man is technically an old fart who just guides and watches over Takeshi's battles, while dancing horribly and staring at the girls disgustingly. The characters in Weiss survive do not go through any type of character development throughout the anime. I really did enjoy the anime no matter how stupid it looked. So if you are a big fan on card games and comedy than I greatly recommend this anime for you.
