Initially, I had high hopes for this anime, but it ended up being disappointing. Although the fight against the dragon was impressive, it was the only major fight scene that truly satisfied me. The other two fights were just between characters, which was underwhelming.
The anime had several plot holes that left me feeling unsatisfied. After defeating the dragon, what happened? Did they celebrate? The anime skipped over many significant details, like Anisphia's heroic feat of defeating a dragon known for destroying kingdoms, which the loyals failed to acknowledge. Additionally, the curse that Anisphia received was not explained, leaving me with questions about how she learned

about the dragon attacks.
Furthermore, the anime didn't provide a clear explanation for Euphyllia's magic abilities. I was left wondering how she learned magic and how she combined all the "spirits" to cast the powerful spell, Arc-en-Ciel. The sword that Anisphia made for her barely got any screen time, and it was only used twice in the whole story.
The anime also had instances where conversations dragged on for too long, with little character development. For instance, the conversation between Algard and Anisphia about her position felt frustrating and took up a quarter of the episode. It could have been condensed into two sentences without losing any essential information.
Another issue was that Lainie's powers were explained but never practically utilized. After being taught by Tility, she could have used her fascinate ability as a last resort to stop Algard from pulling out her magicite. This would have demonstrated her control over her vampiric abilities.
Overall, the anime missed several opportunities for character and plot development, leaving many unanswered questions about the world-building and characters' abilities. It also felt like the anime relied too much on fighting to resolve conflicts, which was disappointing.
