15: Meisetsu Kougyou Koukou Rugby-bu

Though they are two different sports, Ookiku Furikabutte and 15: Meisetsu Kougyou Koukou Rugby Bu have many aspects in common. Mihashi from Oofuri is very similar to Akira from Rugby Bu; the two used to practice their sports (baseball for Mihashi, rugby for Akira) by themselves, have gained absolute, almost godly control of their balls (Mihashi's pitches are amazingly accurate, Akira can project where his ball will land or rebound back with his kicks), had no real friends before they joined their team, and are both awfully cute and child-like. Abe from Oofuri is like Yui from Rugby Bu; they are the first to become friends with the outcasts (Mihashi for Abe, Akira for Yui) and help their star player grow and become more confident. The teams themselves believe that their major goal (Nishiura from Oofuri is aiming for the Koushien, the rugby team is aiming for Hanazono) are impossible until the key players join the team. The two are both great sports manga that express the friendship/relationship between the team members, and how they grow as they play together.

Both are by the same mangaka and involve plot, warfare, and deception within a sort of government or royal leadership (+C: Sword and Cornett has to do with the ruling of the kingdom, Azrael's Blade has to do with the corruption of the government).
