Was struggling to give this anime a 3 or a 4 but it doesn't change the fact that the story is.. trash. The saving grace is the female characters in it. They are drawn beautifully. Not much complaints with the sound either. But why does the story have to be so bad?
To be fair, the story isn't flat. Every episode, things happen but the only thing that stays stagnant is how flat the MC is. I detest the conversations that the male characters have with each other. I don't know what garbage goes into their brains. It's a terrible portrayal of men and if that's
...
the only thing in their head then of course it's no surprise that they are all single. They can all fuse into one character and it wouldn't make a difference. The only male character that is moderately decent is the male MC's childhood friend but *spoilers ahead from this point*, he disappoints. Let's look at the conversation he had with the Mizuhara to convince her that the male MC is a decent guy. What's up with that crap about the MC being optimistic about a flower man? Somehow or other Mizuhara always buys the dump truck logic brought by all these characters. No surprises because that's how the story can progress. I watched it to the end to see how this flaming trash could come to an end and god the MC was badly written. They obviously tried to give him some good traits such as how he "kindheartedly" saves the female heroines but he ends up screwing his own personality over anyway. Funny how he questioned why Mizuhara saved him and linked it to something "romantic". I mean, what is she supposed to do? Watch you take your last breath?? What?? Was that even something to question about?? The only speculation that he has that I absolutely agree with is how he'd doubt whether he's a scum or not. Unquestionably, helll yes. He's depicted to be someone "pitiful" but I can't find even an ounce of sympathy for him. The story progresses as he stays the way he is. More girls just get introduced. There's so many problems with this anime, it's damned.
At what point did he fall in love with Mizuhara and vice versa? Does he even have any idea what love is? Because it seems to me that he only had lust. From the first episode, you could already tell that he's full of shit but I wanted to see what Manami had to bring to the table. But well, her intentions aren't exactly revealed anyway. The story skips from one point to another without much relation to each other to be honest. I watched on in hopes that it'd get better but it never did. Whenever they try to resolve an issue it gets overwritten by some questionable reasoning - for example when Ruka was introduced. From the start, why did the grandma overly favor Mizuhara anyway? Wasn't she just happy that the trash bag of a MC could get attached to anybody? Ruka was the solution. So they change the angle and try to story tell it in a way that the MC has fallen in love with Mizuhara. Whilst I agree that Mizuhara is a catch, from his dialogue, you see him naming how he's in love with Mizuhara's body parts #1,#2,#3 first and just moments before in the series, you could see him almost confessing to Ruka intead. He's fickle, he's insincere. He's supposed to be sure about his feelings but it doesn't seem like it. A small spark is created and then immediately put off with an extinguisher. This repeats. This anime is a roller coaster with repeated low uphills followed by immediate downhills.

Yowamushi pedal, an anime about bikes. The animation is real neat as they pedal through the wind but the story is filled with cliches after cliches. At first, it starts off with an otaku who simply wanted to make an anime club but he got convinced to join the bike riding because it sounds "fun". However, his conviction and reasons why he rides is weak. He's cycling because it's fun. Without much practice in the technical skills, it seems like he overcomes it with sheer talent in a short span of time.

really hard. That takes away ANY tension of the races. Windbreaker (a webtoon about bikes) is much better with their writing in this aspect. I dropped it here because I don't know what message the story was trying to bring. Why did the MC want to join inter high? Because he wanted to cycle with the person who he had just met within the 4 days. His interest to participate is almost always only ignited on a whim and it pains me to see that the other characters who have so much more passion/reason/commitment to win always lose out. What is the MC fighting for? It is always resolved with simple reasons and although this simple mindedness/straightforwardness may seem endearing at first it eventually becomes infuriating when the other characters lose almost way too easily. On the 18th episode when the 2nd years lost, it was clear where the anime was headed. It wasn't unexpected. In fact, most of what has happened from the 1st to the 18th episode is within predictions. That's why the story telling is poor, because bringing back to my first sentence, the MC always wins. The message that I took away from the entire 1st - 18th episode was made even more apparent on the 18th was that you simply can't win someone with raw talent. Of course, it is reflective of what happens in the real world too, but almost sad to see. It would be more enjoyable if the MC was nerfed honestly. The series would be so much better if he had experienced some losses but every time he faces set back, he reacts as if the whole world has ended. After that, he would be assisted by someone to "stand back up". To put it badly, he has no backbone. Rinse and repeat. Yea it's part of his characterization but it really makes it a bore to see. Arguably, there are a lot of OP MCs in many other anime i.e. One Piece, Naruto who may follow a similar formula but at least they have more of a reason. This MC feels like he's just doing things because he got caught by the flow and well good news, at least he enjoys what he's doing.
TLDR of this series (up to the 18th at least) = a boy who cycled once a week to Akihabara (90km to/fro) since 4th grade joins a cycling club because it sounds fun, wins other cyclists who have been practicing for years, the end.
That sounded bad but since that was just what bulk of the story telling is about. However, the animation is definitely worth enjoying although the characters don't particularly "stand out". The OP and ED are great too. I'd recommend watching for the art rather than the plot. Is it enjoyable? I guess if you don't read too deeply into it like I did, it would be better. I might attempt to finish the series but I honestly think it is overrated.

Actually giving a perfect score for this anime because I absolutely adore it. In terms of characterization, wholesomeness and cuteness, it's great for a short. The princess is a quirky character and the humor of this anime aligns with me. Every episode leaves me chuckling/smiling/laughing. It is sad that it is ending in 12 episodes. Please do not sleep on this anime. Even the OP and ED is great and catchy.
As you discover more and more of the demon casts as well, you'll realise how loving they actually are too. It is a perspective from the "villain" and amongst all the other recommended animes that

I have watched nothing remotely comes close to how adorable all the characters are. You're in for a good ride.

It's a cute, wholesome anime with an OP protagonist. There isn't really an antagonist and compared to other isekais like I reincarnated and became a slime, there is lesser plot progression/humor. However, the characters are absolutely adorable. The protagonist focuses on resolving problems in towns like any gaming RPGs and there isn't a huge cast persay but it is a relatively lighthearted watch that makes you smile. For that, it's a 9.
Together with the protagonist, you immerse yourself in that beautiful world that they have created too. It's a good break if you've just finished a more heavy anime for sure. It is actually

much better than a lot of other animes I have seen so far and it's sad to see that the rating for this anime isn't as high compared to them. Plot isn't all over the place too and pacing is just nice. 101/10 cuteness and definitely recommended if that's what you like.

This is my first ever Shoujo Ai anime and first review on this website but I thought I absolutely wanted to write something because I was simply so appalled by the top review saying that the he/she does not understand why people would think that the female MC (Miyako) is a pedo.
I almost wanted to drop the series but I will most likely take it to the end because it does have its merits. Before that though, I'd like to discuss the most jarring aspect of the series, that is apparent even 3 episodes for anyone who is thinking of jumping into it - how
...
the female MC, a college (!!) student behaves in front of a pre-teen child. She is, for the lack of a better word, lustful for Hana. That is simply inappropriate in my book. I don't know why the story was not animated from another angle, take for example Gakuen Babysisters or Gochuumon. The other characteristics of Miyako such as how she's socially anxious, shy, likes to cosplay, make clothes are all fine characteristics but how her behaviors/reactions to Hana are extremely off putting especially because she is putting Hana at a discomfort with her excessive "adoration". It's not simply a wow Hana looks cute but rather in a oh god look at this young adult keeping a bunch of photos of a child in whatever weird fetish she has and masking it off by saying that it's cute!!1!1! I reacted the same way as Hana did and I really want to give Miyako a slap. What on earth man. Miyako's giving me goosebumps. I mean yea fine, the labels are there, it is a shoujo ai for a reason but as a fellow person in my 20s, I fail to understand her feelings and am pretty disgusted if I were to be honest. She's exactly how a pedo behaves and I do not think that it is alright.
But okay, putting "that" aside, although it is pretty major, if you've read this far and knew what you were signing up for, this series has its merits. The characters aside for Miyako are adorable and it is a lighthearted watch. The comedic moments are a hit or miss (so far) and I do find myself looking forward to moments without Miyako although it is ultimately inevitable. I would finish the series before editing this review properly however, god, Miyako's excessive fawning is seriously not ok and don't just "accept that".
Edit: To make it worse, I see that somehow Miyako's behaviors have became a running gag. Why? It is not funny. She obviously shouldn't be taking photos of the kids secretly especially if she knows that Hana wouldn't like it. Yes, in real life you'd actually face consequences but for some reason it is all fine in this anime. It actually irks me because man, just imagine how much greater this anime could have been if she got rid of this character disposition. Enter a new character who stalks Miyako as another "gag". There are some serious problems with the comedy in this anime.
The anime continues to portray Miyako x Hana moments till the end. This ship just ain't working out for me man. It'd be cute and all if Miyako was just an onee-san but romance is a little pushing it. Episode 12's play is pretty nice but otherwise, throughout the anime, the constant portrayal of "creepy" traits in the characters make it less enjoyable.
