I write this review about what you could expect so you don't have to bother yourself watching it. Or watch it, is not an order I am not your mother.
So let's clear out of the way what you want to know:
Sound: It's NTR, you know the usual. The piano soundtrack.
Art: It's Nur (PORO's odd baby brother), so you know, the same faces you have seen dozens of times. Yurina (FMC) looks like an older version of Marina from Oni Chichi.
Now the story and the content of why should (NOT) watch this:
I don't like NTR, but I don't condone people that do. Hey it's their internet
...
service and their own leisure time.
Everyone is free to do whatever the hell they want.
So at the end of the day it's just my weird opinion so I understand not many will agree with it.
Nowadays NTR seems to be happening just because, instead of having a well constructed plot.
I have seen a couple NTR in order to understand the appeal.
I do tolerate it. I just don't buy the premise.
This is one of the very clear examples that when a studio makes Anime original, puts in charge people that have a creative impairment of sorts, because this lacks cohesive narrative.
As much as hentai realm has a free pass in almost anything at least they should pretend to care when they tell a story.
Half the time, the males are deviants, looking for someone to exploit, blackmail, or just plain rape and abuse for the fun of it.
The other half of the males are always cowards that can't or won't cut those bastards junks off and put them where they truly belong.
But the females are the worst.
Not a single one is portrayed in any context having a spine or sense of self-worth or self-respect.
My problem is that the premise has too weak of an explanation.
Vanilla/Harem/Comedy/Parody does not need an explanation.
It's supposed to be ideal, sunshine, sugar and shit.
Fantasy/Isekai go along the same idea.
Mind Control Sometimes is with a Semi-Evil Protagonist but most of the times is like Aku no Onna.
Humilliation usually has MC as thrash and being an asshole. The story is always from his perspective.
That is why that kind of reasoning of lacking explanations does not apply in those situations.
So people don't take them seriously because you can't, is unrreal by default.
But NTR is different.
Is not the sex scene what I have a problem with, at the end is just a sex scene. And for whatever odd reason, you might have realised that NTR happens to have the hottest sex scenes every time.
I assume that is done on purpose to please the audience.
My problem comes from what got them to that point in NTR.
The NTR is fundamentally loathsome because is cheating and infidelity at the core and that's too much IRL issue, nobody really wants to be cucked, but if they go that route, then they have to make sure that the reason why it happens is at least somewhat believable.
NTR that the plot justified why they even occurred:
1-) Nikuyome: The husband is a disgusting pedo.
2-) Aniyome: Based on VN. Husband/Brother is a piece of shit.
3-) Netorarezuma: Husband got cucked because he "forces" his wife to dress up as his favorite idol and she was pissed.
The last one very forced but still somewhat within the "believable" range.
4-) Akebi no Hana: Boyfriend did not contact girlfriend for a year. Went to College but did not bother to pick up the phone.
Girlfriend feeling neglected, abandoned and horny. Needs more information but by technicality, could "make sense".
MC also ended up with the friend who is 10x better anyway. In the adaptation at least. Source material is different.
5-) Aisai Nikki: NTR/Netorase. 2 for 1. Netorase because the husband wants to be cucked because he feels he is not satisfying his wife enough.
NTR because he did not bother to inform his wife that he "borrowed" her to someone else and made it seem like it was forced.
Spice things up in their sex life and ended up having a 3some. "Happy ending?"
6-) Daraku Reijou: Rather fucked up. "MC lost his girlfriend because he had a limp dick". No. He lost because FMC's father "sold" her to the fuckboy, a millionaire causing troubles to his company.
She willingly became his sex toy in order to protect her father. She married the fuckboy at the end. The fact she liked it at the end is not relevant to the plot itself but rather to the resolution.
You can have a different opinion, but while they are still NTR/Netori/Netorase, they did not happen just because but rather for a "valid" reason within their stories.
This one though, way too much of an asspull, even by NTR standards:
She agreed to be the fuckboy's cum dumpster in order to prevent the scandal.
Instead of resolving this in a realistic manner:
1-) Addressing the concern to the husband and let him handle it.
2-) Addressing the issue to HR and get suspended at best.
It's wrong but is her husband so there is 0 sexual favor on it.
3-) Addressing the issue and getting fired without any black marks in the permanent record due to confessing the felony.
See? 3 IRL easy solutions, but NO.
Let's go for:
4-) You would rather let some guy fucked you and cheat on your husband X number of times for a 1-time situation that could have been fixed fast.
Oh ok, it's one of those again.
FMC is purposely made a retard and an idiot as a lame excuse to force the genre huh?
That's my problem with NTR. It's not like I can't tolerate it but I have to believe the plot.
The NTR previously mentioned had a coherent reason aside from "Because his meat is bigger".
Sorry I can't cope with the fact that in order to believe the plot I have to turn off my brain.
This might come as a surprise but there are people that like to be entertained by the story while beating their meat.
So if you are not one of those, mad respect for you since you give 0 shits if it's ugly bastard/loli/gangbang/humilliation/rape/tentacle as long as you can cum to your heart's content.
Which means that you will enjoy this anyway so you might as well watch it.
"Protects herself and her secret from people finding out she had sex at the workplace with her husband" by having sex with ANOTHER GUY AT THE SAME PLACE?
Doesn't that make it worse and defeats the whole purpose? Do they even bother to remember their own story?
She had sex with her husband at night and got conveniently caught in the act but now she is giving blowjobs and having sex during bussiness hours (Which she seems to enjoy, so much for the faithful wife huh?) and nobody found out?
Laws of common sense don't apply in Hentai I know but c'mon. Then people complain that is the MC's fault for having a limp dick or not paying attention when the story is pulling all this bullshit.
The worse part is that at the end she is the one making the advances and going out of her way to protect the fuckboy even when the husband asked her to stop pampering him at work.
So she is not being blackmailed anymore? Wow that did not take long.
At the end of the day is always the same "Let me get rid of my perfect life with my caring husband who loves me deeply because this other guy's 5 cm longer and I want to be treated like a whore and a piece of shit and I can't get enough of that pleasure".
Yet she does not leave her husband to start a relationship with the new guy either. Aren't you greedy huh?
It's like the pussy lust overrules the brain's normal function and they just happened to become a cock lover.
The only issue i have with NTR at times is how unrealistic it is in order to elaborate the plot.
If it was for a much more compelling reason, something that did not lack common sense and coherency it would be "accepted".
They force upon the viewer "Everyone has shit for a brain therefore everything will happen in the dumbest way possible that I can force out of my balls".

I have read or currently up to date with the manga.
So, compare to the other reviews to the series, this opinion does not come from the Anime per se but the show as a whole.
Don't worry I will try my best not to mess the enjoyment for you and let's avoid spoilers but IF you are in any way interested in it, I would advice you to go ahead and read for yourself.
Should you watch Gleipnir?
Short answer: YES.
Long answer: It depends on your taste. Not for kids. Not for Shounen fanatics. For starters, let's get something clear. This is a series not for the
...
faint of heart, be it for being an ecchi series and for the several adult themes touch within the show itself.
Therefore if you are expecting a lighthearted series, then this could not be what you were looking for.
Then again, if you are more refined and have a broader and wider scope of what you tend to watch, as in you don't limit yourself to a specific genre, by all means don't let me stop you.
So let's address the main concerns first:
Art & Animation: Very appealing 8/10. Very fluent 9/10. Color palette and light usage creates a more grim atmosphere that raises the tension and suspense.
Sound: OP is catchy and good 8/10, but aside to that nothing that memorable. Sound is not really the most important anyway.
Enjoyment: Subjective. It all comes down to what I pointed out to you before.
Story: ¿? By the knowledge of the source material. Yes. It's a very well written and constructed universe.
Character: This is by far the most ambiguous. Some people say that the MC is a crybaby. They are not wrong though. The other question is, does it get development. Yes. A lot.
Now let's go with personal biased opinion:
A Youtuber said this series is Trash...
Why?
Let's define "Trash": Garbage. Something Worth little or nothing.
Therefore, for all purposes, in Anime media, being called Trashy show it would mean things along these lines, not worth mentioning or watching and a big waste of your time.
I believe that is a severe critique, albeit everyone is entitled to their opinion, I do not think is fair to say a series is either good or bad based of first impressions, due to the fact it lacks the knowledge and the full picture of what has been evaluated.
On top of the fact that people tend to make off comparisons.
So let's clear some common mistakes:
No. It's not a Battle Royale per se.
This is properly explained in the story.
So if people tell you that, please compare it to the most obvious example, the Fate Franchise.
The most recognizable Battle Royale series ever.
As you can see, way different concept.
The other wrong comparison, Clair/Kurea is an offbrand cheap imitation of Gasai Yuno.
No. Just, no.
First of all. Mirai Niki's Gasai Yuno IS a 100% Yandere. Second Yuno & Yukiteru are the exact representation of the Lima & Stockholm Syndrome. Hence way different characters.
I am being as vague as possible because I am trying to avoid spoilers regarding the characters themselves.
But just to point out a fundamental trait it would allow you to see how different they really are.
Then we say that this series is Trash for the use of Fan Service.
This is a Seinen series. Young adult is the target audience.
If Fan Service is a resource and not the main plot point.
If it's seldom shown and is not the main focus and it's whole purpose is adding a little bit of taste to the scene is not bad.
Also, the rating for this should is R - Mild Nudity.
Fan Service is kind of expected.
If you don't like it, if you think that is not really for you, don't watch it because you will not enjoy it.
This is also a Thriller & Psychological.
Those along should give a major idea of what the story is really about.
And the dumbest reason why people say this show is off putting:
Clair is a bad character because she has freckles.
The irony is that you also hear that Karen from Tower of God is so cute because of the exact same reason.
Yes, really. That is a thing.
No. Just, no.
A woman with freckles looks pretty and cute.
Women with freckles and big breasted should rule the world.
So if you are a woman with that trait, or you are a guy who is attracted to this trait, A+ to you.
So with all the odd reasons out of the way...
Why should you watch Gleipnir?
Meet our 3 protagonist Shuichi, Clair and her older sister Elena.
Yes, Elena is also the protagonist of the series.
Shuichi is our "Not so protagonist of the story" MC.
At first glance, he seems to be wimpy, scary, skinny, glasses-kun, run of the mill kind of guy that you find almost in every other show.
So why is he special? Why should he become special?
Well that is to be seen and is the main point of the story so if I just flat out tell the reason then where is the fun in that.
Clair on the other hand, is everything that Shuichi is not.
Clair has massive... Confidence. Feisty. Strong minded. Badmouthed. Relentless. Hence, she is hot AF.
One provides what the other one lacks and viceversa.
Their dynamic is full of double meaning conversations and almost all the time is Clair imposing on Shuichi.
Oddly enough, it fits.
It sets the tone of the series. They don't have a normal relationship.
The norm should be Senpai-Kohai, since Clair is younger than Shuichi.
Maybe lovers?
Neither one of those criterias fit them. At least, nothing so shallow.
They are comrades, sharing a common goal.
Therefore using each other instead of helping each other would be more accurate.
What about Elena?
The main female protagonist role is more for her than Clair's.
Not even the source material has clarify her story completely though.
Describing Elena as a character, her connection to Shuichi and her motives cannot be done unless spoilers are given.
Although her meek, mellow and bashful persona in front of the MC should have given you enough hints.
Suffice to say, that she is the most complex character in the series.
What is Gleipnir about and why should I care to watch it?
Have you ever had a dream?
Have you ever thought that you wanted to change something about yourself or about the people around you?
The one beneath the facade that you wear, is that the real you?
Is that who you wanted to be? To become the shield of those you wanted to protect, or to become the puppet for others to be used for because you lack the courage to do it yourself?
Will you become happy and satisfied after your dream has been granted?
This is an emotional and psychological mindbreak & turmoil.
In order to stop all the events that are currently affecting all the people around the MC, he will have to become the exact opposite of what he stands for.
Will he be able to retain his humanity in the process? Will he remain the good guy or will he become shrouded in the darkness?
Clair's despair and Shuichi's acceptance of madness. To fight the evil around him and within him. To obtain the redemption and absolution of his past mistakes and sins.
That is basically the foundation of the hero and the main point of the story...

This kind of series is target for a very specific adult audience.
The main protagonist's dumb antics are painfully relatable only if you have experienced them before.
Koda Minare. Our MC is basically the main attraction of this show.
Rather, she is the show itself.
We follow her daily life.
Feisty, strong personality, drunkard, a little bit of a dork.
The life of an adult, that struggles, that get's drunk quite often because she has bad luck in men and has a massive hungover and still needs to be on time at work, and after she spent all her money on drinks the night before, she realizes that she does not
...
have enough money to pay for rent.
It's clear that her life is not in order by any means.
Does that ring any bells? I think we all have been there.
Suffice to say this series is not for everyone.
Hence the low scores.
Which is sad, since I honestly believe that this is one of those hidden gems that appear every season.
It has, what it could be among the Top 10 or Top 20 OP & ED of the whole year. Despite still being quite early to say but i doubt that it could fall from those ratings.
Yes, that good. If you don't believe it, go ahead and listen to it.
I do hope that more people watch this show...
At least, give it a chance.
If the first 5 minutes of the show don't get your attention, don't waste your time and drop it, since this might not be for your taste.
Should you watch Nami yo, Kiitekure?
How can I give you a proper review without giving a massive spoiler for the series?
I will give you a comparison instead.
If you are a sommelier, a connoisseur if I may add, and by that I mean a full on weeb that has watched a fair share of anime then it will be pretty easy for you to understand the reference and what I am trying to say.
Do you remember Hayami Saori's role of Hatoko in Inou-Battle?
Do you remember the "I don't understand" scene?
That 2:50 of one of the greatest voice acting masterful performances, ever.
That. Exactly, that.
Think along those lines.
Sugiyama Riho is attempting to emulate or recreate what Hatoko's VA did and provide something similar in Koda Minare's (MC) performance throughout the whole show.
The concept of the radio exists in the story.
My opinion of it is that the radio was not the whole point.
Just a mean to an end.
What the author might had envision is something different.
Let's take it as a metaphore, since it's only the medium for your words to be heard.
Nowadays, nobody speaks their minds.
We follow protocols. We have become accostumed to a living, to a pattern, to what is the norm in society.
But there is always something that we have thought. "If I said that before, will things have been different?"
So what would happen if we have someone who does not force herself to follow said rules and is not bound to them either?
The ability to convey powerful and impactful emotions through the use of your words.
So, the main question is, why does her words echo in others?
That is the power.
To make people to listen to you. To become the voice of what is in the minds of others, afraid of saying those same things outloud...

This is getting an Anime adaptation around April/Spring 2020 so I wanted to know what the story was about.
Main question: Should you read it Yesterday wo Utatte?
Short answer: YES.
Long answer: IF you are tired from the same tropes being overused with the series that it practically feels that if you have read one, you have read them all, try the really old ones and you might find something interesting.
At least that was the case for me. I hope it's the same for others.
Meet Ruiko and Haru, our protagonists.
Ok, not really, that seems very misleading.
Let's start all over.
This story does not have A protagonist,
...
but rather follows the story or daily life of SEVERAL protagonists.
This manga is a rather different take of the Romance/Slice of Life/Seinen.
Or maybe not, it could be that all shows today convey things in a different fashion.
Keep in mind that this series is over 20 years old, so this may have been the norm way back when.
It's one of those old manga, that are considered obscure due to nobody talking about them, however that does not mean that you should just glossed over it.
The art it might be an acquired taste at first, as in most old manga, but you get accostume to it rather quickly, up to the point that you no longer care after a couple chapters once you are fully invested in their stories.
That's the best part, the story, is very rich, while using the slice of life concept to a tee the character development and story progression do happen to exist and have a very good pacing and makes feel everything organic and natural.
The main cast have to deal with many psychological struggles due to their rush or abrupt decisions and atone for their past mistakes along with the romance (Which is the strong and major point of the story), that oddly enough, is portrayed within a more realistic scenario of what it represents to be in an adult relationship with all the conflicts, misunderstandings, pitfalls and those small moments of happiness.
It would make you feel like it hits home on an emotional level if you have been through something similar, which, if you are a proper/full on adult, chances are you most definitely have.
The ending is subjective.
I hated it, but does not mean it's an objective opinion, that's just my personal preference.
Certain events were developed in a way that felt unexpected or forced although that could have been the author's purpose all along.
It's an ending that provides a closure for the characters and the hope for a better and brighter tomorrow for all of them as well.

The beginning of a multi-millionaire franchise.
When you watch the Anime and you notice that there might be something lacking (The Anime Adaptation has way too much filler).
The source material is more gruesome, more graphic as in does not shy about the gore usage, something that in the Anime is heavily censored, you have everything extremely detailed here.
You noticed how all the minor cast are more developed or fully flesh out in the manga and become very well written characters.
If you are a fan of the franchise or familiar with the card game (In case that you have played the game or heard about it unless
...
you have been living under a rock since 1995), is one of those mangas that are a must for the completionist. Worth reading.

Yuu Yuu Hakusho.
The creator from HxH is also the the creator from this series.
Therefore, you know or at least you could have a major idea of what to expect from this series.
Yu Yu Hakusho has a good story overall.
The typical Shounen Tournament Arc (They might have invented that since this manga is over 30 years old)
Yusuke Urameshi is one the most easily recognized Shounen MC, the guy has a rather unique personality, adding that a very good supporting cast in other memorable characters.
Now regarding the ending of the manga.
I believe (Also a lot of people or maybe the vast majority of the fans
...
agree) it was better depicted in the Anime.
Nevertheless, is a story that you can enjoy.
If you like or you are a fan of Shounen Action Supernatural oriented series and you would like to look for a classic for the completionist score, you should give this one a try.

This is my first review. Therefore I am fully aware that I am doing this the incorrect way, perhaps I am not being fair.
Nevertheless, objectively, I would say.
No, is not garbage, but is clearly not a master piece either.
I don't know how much of this is consider spoilers, from a completed Season but from a current series, since Season 2 will be release next year.
Instead I wanted to rant more with why it was a bad adaptation.
This might not be the general opinion, but since everyone has different opinions, as long as we respect each other is fine.
Arifureta is a BAD/Poorly made Anime
...
adaptation. Not a bad story/series.
Keep in mind that everything is subjective.
What we like people hate & viceversa.
The problem with Arifureta is that it did not take advantage of what it had already.
What do we evaluate really, I mean music is really that bad? I have heard things way worse, at least I remember the Op, I guess.
Voice Acting is bad? I mean several of the VA are quite good.
They have done voices to many different characters from Ecchi, Comedy, Romance so at least if you have watch a lot of anime you recognize their voices very easily.
So then what is the problem with Arifureta?
Let's take this into account.
At the end of the day is really up to you to sit and watch it or just skip it.
I am not going to be extremely offensive saying "Wow this is the biggest shit ever been created/This is the biggest shit ever been created" from both sides of the spectrum.
Honestly, I mean the CGI has NEVER been a good resource in Anime, like never; that really dropped the ball.
But the mayor flaw, like in EVERY/MOST Light Novel series is pacing.
I do not hate Arifureta, because I know the story (I have read the full series)
This is a WN Series, a pretty long one (Over 350+ chapters) and Ln which is the polish paper version, chops a lot of character development that the series has and cuts down the chapters in more digestable sizes, in return they either skip or modified information. Then, the Anime comes, and uses the Light Novel as reference and cuts content even more, for lack of time, lack of resources, etc, What do you have at the ending? Crap.
Volume 1 (LN) is basically Hajime getting out of the Abyss, which already had cut content.
Do you know how many chapters from the WN he took to get at the end of the Abyss? 15-20 chapters, which by the way, this are WN chapters, by default they are around 3 times bigger/longer than a LN chapter.
There is a lot of information been spoonfed to you, the why/when/how/who/what of a series is properly explained.
Everything is told so is a huge amount of information, like classmates interactions and background stories for some of them, even Hajime's despair is a monologue of 2 chapters long that makes you sympathize or create a connection with him, is not that the whole point? I mean he is the MC so I have to like him since I have to see everything from his perspective, but if you remove all that, what do you obtain?
Basically the Anime could have taken (If they maximize the whole pacing thing) 8 episodes just to exit the Dungeon.
What does that give you? I don't know, world building, character development? Right, not really important stuff that we might need to know.
My point is that by having a lot of information available you give depth to your story, you explore psychological aspects from your characters making them more complex, more relatable, well you get the point.
Without a proper adaptation, faithful to it's characters (Even the least important characters have their own inner monologues or side stories) all that is left is a Harem (Which it is but they are not one dimentional so every one of the girls was supposed to be likeable, sadly not really explore) Ecchi (If it's that genre and is not going to show any nudity, just don't bother, since I assume that the target audience was never supposed to be children (This a mature content Light Novel series, technically), and a story of yet another MC that seems OP for no reason, that also collects women like catching Pokemon.
This is a problem of every WN series.
Yes even Re:Zero had this issue. Yes, even Tate no Yuusha had this issue. Yes even the Fate franchise (Not really WN but VN instead) had this issue.
I know. You hate it, it seems like I am saying an abomination, but believe it, they do.
For someone who has taken the time (Or wasted his time, instead of doing something of actual value) I have read Re:Zero up to Arc 6 (Season 2 will be Arc 4) and the first season had multiple gaps, Tate no Yuusha skipped several mini arcs, so when you skip minus characters that later on become main characters, their development is wasted, even the Fate franchise failed to completely/faithfully (100%) adapt the source material (If you have played the game you know that HF is absurdly long and by far the most complex route of the game, so with the 2 movies that have been released obviously they had to make some adjustments to it) but, what does Ufotable does that the rest don't? They DO NOT cut MAJOR content from their series. Even though you can cut content/polish the story, you are never supposed to cut information that makes your series have sense or what makes it interesting.
Should you watch Arifureta? Story, as you guessed it is incomplete so no proper evaluation can be done, plus VA, plus Soundtrack, maybe 6-7 it would be fair or maybe too much.
Is not a masterpiece, by any means, but is is not going to kill you if you decide to watch it.
In my personal recommendation, if you want to have a better experience of this series, you should try to read the Web Novel instead.
